Yes they are! I love the all you can eat bread sticks.

Keyori 05-24-2012 09:21 PM

Oh man, I haven't been to Olive Garden in like forever

I love their salad. I could eat that and breadsticks like all day. I love soaking up the dressing with bread.

Mystic 05-24-2012 09:29 PM

I haven't been there in like forever either. I drive by almost every day and forget it's there half the time.

Keyori 05-24-2012 09:31 PM

I don't even know where the closest one is...

*googles*

Oh snap, we have one next to the Panera Bread we go to! I had no idea xD

Mystic 05-24-2012 09:32 PM

It's kinda funny how you can go by somewhere and not realize it's there. XD

Keyori 05-24-2012 09:36 PM

Yeah. I'm still new to the area too (six months... plus I hate driving so I don't go out often). I discover new things all the time!

Hubby lived here for like four or five months before he found out there was even a Panera Bread. We were talking over IM and he was like "I MISS IT" and so I googled it and I was like "dude there's one like 20 minutes away GO GET IT." xD

`Kitami 05-24-2012 09:45 PM

Kita has never been to Olive Garden. o.o

Keyori 05-24-2012 09:47 PM

Really? I think it's worth trying, but I wouldn't go there all the time. It's a bit pricier, kindof like Applebee's I guess.

`Kitami 05-24-2012 09:51 PM

Which I've also never been to.

Yeah, I'm from a smallish town in Missouri, and we had one Olive Garden and one Applebee's, but both were out of our price-range. I wanted my nana to take me to Olive Garden for my 20th birthday, but then I decided that I'd rather her pay my library fine.
I moved to Denver six months ago, but we can't afford it either. XD;

Keyori 05-24-2012 09:53 PM

WHAT. You never told me that we used to live near each other! D:

I've lived in a few places in Missouri. And I have family all over the state too! WHAR YOU FROM WOMAN.

`Kitami 05-24-2012 09:59 PM

You never asked.
I'm from Joplin, Missouri.

Keyori 05-24-2012 10:03 PM

NO WAY! I was there last year doing tornado relief work! WE COULD HAVE DONE STUFF. Even though I only had one day off a week during that project. Hard work :gonk:

Do you know what the progress on the high school there is like? We drove through in November on our way out here and it was still a hot mess. I hope they don't have to keep having classes in the mall next school year >_>

Also, Suzanne's natural foods is like my favorite shop in the entire world.

---------- Post added 05-24-2012 at 03:05 PM ----------

And Joplin isn't -that- small... it had two wal-marts before the tornado xD

Rolla is much smaller! I lived there for like four years basically.

Joplin was the biggest city we served in though, except for our brief time in Sioux City, SD, which was miserable and we didn't get to really experience it like we did Joplin.

`Kitami 05-24-2012 10:26 PM

Thanks for helping, sweet heart.

We couldn't have hung out though really. I was taking care of my grandpa, and attempting to help regain my neighborhood some sense of normalcy, although it'll never look right to me again. D:
Also, I had a huge gash across my palm and I was kind of miserable and stressed. >_<

Umm. They tore down JHS (I think) and I know they did the groundbreaking for the new JHS on the 22nd, which was the one-year anniversary. They did it during the Walk of Unity, which I really would have liked to be a part of.... But anyway, its not scheduled to be complete until August of 2014. o.o

I've never been to Suzanne's, although my mom was housekeeper to the lady who owns it at one time, I think. XD

 They have two Walmarts again. The one that got destroyed re-opened last November.

I'm going back home to visit in July, and I'm a little excited/nervous to see everything in person again. I have to go to the park by where St. John's was because the Extreme Makeover people helped build it back, and they recently planted 161 new trees and dedicated a memorial fountain. I'm excited to see it, but I'll probably start crying. ._.

I've never been to Rolla. One of my friends moved there when we were like 13, and we sent letters occasionally, but I never visited her or anything.

steelmagghia 05-24-2012 10:29 PM

AAAaaaaarrrrggghhh. So tired.

Keyori 05-24-2012 10:32 PM

We were there in July/August trying to get housing for everyone who had school-age children and anyone who had disabilities. FEMA wanted all the school kids to have housing before the school year started, so there was a big push to get everyone assistance that we could.

So, we weren't part of the teams doing debris clean-up, but some of our peeps did work with the debris clearing teams on their day off.

I drove hubby through when I moved because I wanted him to see what all the people there were coping with. It definitely was cleaner in late November than it was in August but the high school and tech school and hospital were still not torn down at that point.

Also I thought the Home Depot tent was ridiculous looking >_>

HI STEEL! I think I may photograph the nest again today :D

steelmagghia 05-24-2012 10:34 PM

Yay!!! More eggies!
Sorry I'm not as involved in the conversation. I feel a bit horrid today.

Keyori 05-24-2012 10:35 PM

Aww, I'm sorry :C

This week has not been very kind to you!

steelmagghia 05-24-2012 10:40 PM

No. This week has been filled with sixth graders from hell.

`Kitami 05-24-2012 10:50 PM

Hey Steel.

Key:: You still probably helped some people I know though.
Baha I never saw the tent, we tended to shy away from Rangeline. >.>
If my mom and I had stuck around for 15 more minutes or so (if we had stopped at Walmart like we were planning on before we looked at the clouds and decided to go home and come back later) we probably would have been f'ed. And so it was a little weird for us after that. O.o

Keyori 05-24-2012 10:53 PM

It sortof looked like a humongous greenhouse. I wonder if I can find a pic.

http://www.clui.org/sites/default/fi...-50-07_web.jpg

That's the best one I can find. I didn't take very many photos of Joplin itself. Most of mine are of the housing we stayed in, and then my team members took photos while they were out doing client meetings.

`Kitami 05-24-2012 11:01 PM

Oh that's not so bad. XD

I remember at the other walmart after it happened, the parking lot looked like a circus! There were all these tents and trailers set up, mobile pharmacy and this thing where people could bring their dirty laundry and stuff. o.o

Keyori 05-24-2012 11:07 PM

Ugh, I hated that Walmart. SO MUCH. I mean, our first housing was out in Quapaw, so it was at least sortof on the way back, but then when we got moved to south of Joplin (we lived at a church camp somewhere off of Saginaw) it was such a pain for us to get to. Plus, since we only had one day off a week, and everyone's days off were staggered (M-Th), shopping for groceries was a real pain :C

We tried going to other stores for groceries but we didn't find that the prices or food quality was any better... like food4less :gonk:

`Kitami 05-24-2012 11:14 PM

Food4Less is a lying bitch if you don't pay close attention to the prices. Its mainly only good when they're having sales.

Were they still doing the food/water donations in the F4L parking lot when you were there? Cause it was an effing madhouse when they were. :gonk:

Keyori 05-24-2012 11:15 PM

Yeah, we went there once and were like "THIS EFFING SUCKS" and then we were all *GTFO* and went to Wal-Mart. xD

Are those wild or pet quails? Either way it should be awesome when they hatch!
