The Chains That Bind Us

Vincent Kumori

http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/...ime/Evil-1.jpg

A seventeen year old demon, he has come under the command of a mortal family for crimes against the human race. What he was actually accused of doing has long since vanished into distant memory. He has always been faithful and loyal to this family, many demons question why. It is because of a forced contract. It binds him to the heir of the family. After the parents are killed in a mysterious car crash, he becomes bound to their son. He has mysterious abilities that he has developed over the years. The ability to manipulate and bend fire at will, to summon lower class demons to do his biddings, and the art of black magic as well. He also has a special power, the ability to tear a 'rift' between the mortal world and the demonic world, like opening a gate. Many on the old council wished to use his powers to combat other demons, to force him to turn against his own kind. When he came into the families owership however, his duties became blurred. He became a protector and a butler to the family, carrying out their every command. The contract comes out as a tattoo like object looking like so , which symbolizes the constant flow of energy. He is a bit cocky, and headstrong. He can be seen as flirty as well, and very mysterious. He has a more intamet side, and keeps this to himself. Many have tried to get inside his head and heart....someone has yet to succeed.

Heir to the Trance estate and company, Trance has been a rival house to the Valex family for generations. They claim to be the original owners to the contract of the Demon Vincent Kumori. Currently the financial matters are being run by Eran's distant uncle while he finishes school and takes care of some family business. Mainly his excuse to go and reclaim their bonded demon and restore power to their house once more. Their family mainly involve themselves in high tech toys and gadgets, with small businesses of misc fields throughout the world. Eran has been parent-less almost since birth. His father dying while his mother was pregnant, only to loose his Mother upon his "arrival" to the world. Various uncles have dipped in and out of his life since then, along with maids, nurses, and teachers. Discipline, strength and honor have been drilled into him since small, the only constant thing in his life. Love has been scarce and what love he had was generally warped through the "strange" uncles that tended to him on rare occasions.

Eran Is a master at staff and spear fighting. He tends to be very serious, dark, and still. Rather like a sheet of glass that is unseen until it is broken into deadly edges.

Sion Valex

http://i45.tinypic.com/1zfhdex.jpg

At a rather young sixteen years of age, Sion Valex is the head of the Valex Estate. An unfortunate accident sent both his parents to their graves prematurely leading to the inheritance of the title of Head of the family. While he has inherited a vast amount of things there is one thing he is rather troubled about accepting…His new butler a demon named Vincent Kumori. Though he has lived in the presence of the demon since he could remember he has never really grown accustom to the feeling of being around someone such as himself and now his is bound to this Demon. It isn’t something he looks forward to, but will do as the head of the family. Sion is albino, which explains his appearance, which has made a few members of society question his legitimacy as the son of Valex’s, though it has been clarified that he has a medical condition some people still question. This has also been problematic in his past, because of his sensitive skin to sunlight he has been unable to venture out for long periods of time. He always has a birth mark the starts of his left cheek and coils its way down his body, much like a snake, clear down his right leg stopping just before his ankle. Sion is a rather open person about his feelings and thoughts to others, though that mostly applies to those he trusts. He isn't much a socialistic person either, but he has become accustom to putting on a mask for society. He has darker side to him that is often unseen by the world, but can be triggered at random. Though for the most part his is a rather mellow person, that is easy to get a long with.

Well, here it is finally :D Sorry it took forever >___< I hope this is good enough, but I'll change it if you dislike something.

Vincent woke with the sun filtering through the scarlet curtains. His eyes for a moment didn't want to open. Today way his first day serving that boy of theirs. He sighs and slowly slides his figure out of bed. His long slender legs stretched down to the floor allowing his weight to shift to them so he could stand. The covers slipped away from his bare chest, leaving him standing there in merely his black pajama bottoms. He crossed to the window, and slowly slid back the curtains. The rush of light hit him like a knife, but he didn't flinch. He smiles slightly at the garden down below. The blood roses were in bloom today.

Stepping swiftly away from the window, he moved to the bathroom that was through a door in the room. The sound of the shower running soon followed. The hot water felt good on his tight muscles. He had had the dream again last night. Him in the veil between this world and the demon one, surrounded by all those eyes. They all just stared at him, growls and whispers had surounded him, and it grew so cold. He runs a hand through his hair, forcing the thoughts from his ming.

He didn't spend long in the shower, he had things to do. He slipped on a simple uniform of black pants a black shirt with red pin stripes, and a red vest with tie. He smiled, then paused tracing the scar that ran around his neck. It was a constant reminder of what had happened all those years ago. He glares darkly into the mirror, and turns away from the mirror before he smashed it. He grabbed his set of master keys, and made his way down towards the dining room.

He opened the curtains in the dining room, and turned to set a single place at the head of the long dark cherry wood table. He then moved to the kitchen where he began breakfast for the master. He prefered to do it himself, not that he had anything against the cook. It gave him a chance to sleep in, and Vincent had a chance to get his bearings. He tried to keep his mind off of the dream, while he finished and placed the plate on the table.

Not seeing the young master, once more he ascends the stairs. He walked to the room at the end of the hall, giving a light knock. Hearing no reply, he entered the dark room and without heasitating, he moved to the curtains and slid them back to bask the room in the same warm sunlight that had greeted him earlier. He turns away from the glass and looks over at the bed where the mound layed. He walks over standing by it. "Good morning...master."

HarukiAi 05-11-2012 04:38 AM

The light chirping of birds drift into the boy’s ears slicing through his dreams abruptly. He could feel the sun pressing against the curtains attempting to reach him and drag him further from his sleep. A soft groan escaped his lips as he rolled over in his bed curling himself into a ball in an attempt to escape it for just a while longer. The sound of chirping was a constant noise as he drifted in and out of sleep.

The warm caress of the sun’s rays brought him out of his slumber, yet again. The light was blindingly bright even through his closed lids. The sound of Vincent’s voice brought his eyes open, though only enough to peer up at the tall man standing next to his bed. “…Good morning…” His voice was hoarse from sleep, but it still managed to come across as cold.

He pushed the blankets from his body as he sat up slowly. His bare chest was revealed and along with it his unique birthmark that coiled around his body. His tousled hair covered his closed eyes as he sat their reluctant to leave his warm bed. “..What is for breakfast?” He asked dully as he swung his feet over the edge of his bed allowing the sun to bathe them in its warm rays, his alabaster skin glowing lightly in the light as he waited for his reply. He slowly lifted his eyelids allowing the light to gradually fill his red eyes. The warmth of the sun was beginning to turn into a dull tingling sensation of pain as the timed passed. It was feeling that had become accustom to the boy through out the years.

Kiyoto 05-11-2012 05:01 AM

He watched as the boy say up. "The usual...eggs, bacon and toast. Your vitamins in your juice as instructed by the doctors" a small smirk forms on his lips. He crossed the room going to the wardrobe. He opened the doors without a moments pause, and retrieved an outfit laying it at the end of the male's bed. "Hurry, or it will get cold young master" he turned away to leave, but not before glancing out at the window. A robin was sitting on the seal. He despised birds, always so happy and noisy.

He continued his way to the door, not turning to look back at the male. He did not want to bother him if he was beginning to get dressed. Exiting the room, he walked along to the study not far drom the young masters well. He smiles a bit opening the door and walking in. He pulled a black book from one of the shelves. Opening to a marked page he noticed that it was on contracts for demons. He pauses looking over at the desk. Sitting the book down, he walks over to it. A few papers were strewn across it, and one of them pertained to him.

He was tempted to read it, not like the boy could puninsh him if he did, not like his father before him had. If his mother had known, he had no doubt she would have been very upset and disgusted with her husband. It made him laugh a bit, mortals were such interesting pitiful creatures. All the while that man had thought he had been getting through to Vincent, he had a long way to go. Unfortunately, his time was up due to that crash. Another smile comes to his face.

Silverbeam 05-11-2012 05:06 AM

Eran Watched the house, perched atop a stout tree limb for the height. With that advantage he was able to see the shadows from the windows of each story. Watching as servants and prey went about their duties. The sun had not long risen, but was already hot in the patches that fell upon him through the gaps of the leaves. he pulled out an electronic clipboard taking notes in his quick and precise hand writing. Perhaps today was when he would enter his way into his rivals domain.

His honor demanded that he restore what was once lost to his family. Yet wealthy, by all standards they were far successful, but there was that ever presence hole, making their appearance diminish, if only in the minds of the family head.

Eran checked his tools. he reattached the clipboard to his belt, checking a silver rod, and other smaller pouches to be sure they were in tact. He would prefer not to have to resort to weapons but if he needed to, he was more than ready. the tube was a staff, that extended to be as tall as himself. The pouches carrying different spear heads that could be quickly attached if a staff was not dangerous enough. He would protect his family honor. The demon that once was theirs, would belong to them again.

HarukiAi 05-11-2012 05:31 AM

“Of course…” He muttered underneath his breath as he began to stretch his stiff body. His eyes followed Vincent through the veil of his snow white hair as he walked out of his field of vision, but no further than that. He knew where he must have been going and the sound of the wardrobe opening and closing only reconfirmed his idea. He turned his head slightly staring down at the outfit that had been laid out for him with a look of uninterested. He hoisted himself off his bed and onto the warm sun bathed floor and he slowly padded over to the clothes.

It didn’t take him too terribly long to change into the clothes, which were a plain black button up shirt and a pair of black slacks to accompany it. He slipped into his shoes before reaching out and grabbing the vest that was supposed to be a part of his attire. He looked back over at the window and the light spilling through it.

Sion pushed the door of his chambers open slowly only allowing enough room for his body to slip out of the door before he lowered his hand allowing the door to slam shut behind him. As he continued down the hall towards the staircase, he stopped abruptly in the hall as a laugh drifted out from his study. He raised one of his eyebrows slowly giving the door a questioning look. It wasn’t like he had been meaning to hide the things that had been sprawled out in his study, but rather would have liked it if they had remained unseen for a while longer. He didn’t particularly care if the demon saw what he was researching; it wasn’t as if he was going to go running off anytime soon. It might have amused him to know his master was weary of him. He walked up to the door pushing it open leaning against the frame of the door. “Come along, I would like to enjoy my meal knowing where you might be.” He said as he looked upon the other. He didn’t mind that Vincent was going through his things, but it was a little unnerving not to know where he might be in the manor. It wasn’t like it was not common knowledge that the demon was somewhat frightening to Sion sometimes.

Kiyoto 05-11-2012 05:43 AM

Vincent paused as he herd the voice of the male. He sat the paper down, and walked over to him, only to lean down to where their mouths were inches from eachother. "As you wish" he says barley above a whisper" he smirks, and passes him walking out the door and down the hall. This boy liked to appear tough, but Vincent had a bit of fun unnerving him at times as well. The demon could be quite unpredictable when he wanted to be.

He pauses feeling as if they were being watched. His eyes moved out to a large tree that was near the estate. He crossed his slender arms and takes a slight breath. He was there, Vincent could feel it. He tensed slightly and looks back at his master. "Seems we have company" he says. With that, he walked down the stairs, and to the main doors. There was no point in playing this foolish game anymore.

Silverbeam 05-11-2012 06:02 AM

Eran was just about to climb down when he spotted shadows near the door window. Instead of climbing he swung himself down and onto the hard packed earth below him. It was not time for any business going in or out. Months of schedules and patterns formulated told him so. Instead of hiding, he would be sought on the path to the front door. Quickly he situated himself, taking the few yards easily with his conditioned body. it was about all the time he had before the door would open. His hand twitched wanting to ease over his weapon. Hostility would not be his first sign however.

He stood there like a man of his station should be. Part of him cringed at the thought. One of his uncles words in his head at his thought. No man was he, just a whelp of a pup, to be used and petted. He shook the thought out of his head before it could show on his face. calming himself with a quick intake of breath.

((well off to bed, post more tommorow!))

HarukiAi 05-11-2012 06:05 AM

Sion’s red eyes followed the movement of his butler as he stalked over to him perching himself above Sion. His eye twitch slightly in annoyance, but also in a nervous gesture, he didn’t know what the demon was thinking by doing this. His breath was caught in his throat as the demon closed the distant between their faces; all he could manage to do was to stare back up at him.

“Damn it…” He whispered harshly as he stared up into the ceiling of the study. He’d know that he would get that type of reaction out of him. It seemed to be his source of amusement at times. He stood their trying to regain his composure from that little harassment. A long sigh escaped his lips as he turned around and walked out of the door frame allowing the door to close behind him as he went to follow after his butler.

He looked up noticing that Vincent had stopped in the middle of the hallway and was staring off at something. Sion turned his head looking off to see what it might be, but there was nothing to him. He continued walking until he was at his butler back when he turned to speak to him. “Guest…? Were we expecting company today?” He asked as he raised an eyebrow slowly. As far as he knew they weren’t going to be entertaining anyone today. He watched his butler stalk down the stairs to the front door and he watch him from the balcony for a moment before he followed suit. He stood at the bottom of the stairs staring at the figure of the demon before him.

// Ah, I may be going off to bed as well here soon. ^_^ Good night, Silver.

Kiyoto 05-12-2012 01:08 AM

Vincent didn't answer for a moment. He let his slender fingers wrap around the cool surface of the door knob as he finally paused. His biody turned slightly so he could look back at the young master. He gave a slight smirk. Turning back, he opened the door a bit and looked out onto the perfectly landscaped front lawn. He noticed the male standing just outside of the main gates that led into the long circle driveway that led up to the house. His hand moved to the panel by the door, and pushing a button a slight buzz is herd. The gate clicks, and they swing forward granting access to the male.

It was that boy from the family that claimed Vincent had been stolen from them. Stolen, as if he was a prize or something. Then again, many would give anything to have a demon of his stature on their side, oh the things he could do with his powers. He chuckled slightly under his breath, and then allowed his eyes to slide up the male. Not a bad looker, and who knew, maybe he would present a bit of intertainment for the day. Vincent turns to the master "go start on your breakfast, I will see what he wants, and if needed bring him in." With that, he steps out and closes the door behind him.

He stepped down the stairs, while sliding his hands into his pockets. What could this male want anyways? Besides trying to steal Vincent back that is. He let a slight breath escape from his mouth, as he lets his long slender legs lead him across the grounds to the gate, until he stood right in front of the male. "Is there something you needed boy?" he says with an air of ammusement in his voice. He watched his body language, as well as his expressions for any hints at all.

Silverbeam 05-12-2012 01:23 AM

((I don't think they had buzzers in Victorian Europe....... And you know what he needs, he needs a hug! LOL))

He watched silently. Calculating as the butler.....no demon, walked from the front doors out to where he stood. Even without knowing his true nature he still would expect to feel that unearthly air to this man. Tall and lean, the fine tailor suite hid a speed and strength that could decimate an army within seconds.

"I have come to return my families claim and rights that once were held." Within a pocket he pulled out a small case. "I wish to present my case to your...master, and offer up proof of our sure holdings. a matter you should well know and should not have forgotten." Beneath his cool demeanor, two emotions waged. One of loathing and anger, the other of nervousness and fear. He made no doubt that even his life, no his very soul could be in jeopardy.

Kiyoto 05-12-2012 01:36 AM

(Who said we were in victorian Europe? I never did.)

Vincent smirked lightly as he watched the male. "Ah your 'claim' is it?" he leans against the left pillar that held the left gate in it's position. He slipped a cigarette out of his pocket and into his mouth. He didn't even bother to hide the fact that with a snap, a small flame lights at the end of his pointer finger. He places it to the end of the cigarette lighting it. He watches the small trail of smoke that curled up towards the sky. "And if I refuse to let you bother him with such..trival things?" he says turnning his attention back on the male.

Silverbeam 05-12-2012 01:42 AM

(*face palm*Oh.... I even put that my guy made high tech toys and man I feel dumb. Gomen)

His lips grew tight as he he held back a snarl. "I don't think your master would appreciate such trouble on his doorstep as it would mean to dismiss me. I will not leave until matters are settled into their proper order." One hand rested against the strap upon which his pole was held. He really didn't want to fight this beast, but he was determined to do any and everything within his power to succeed.

Kiyoto 05-12-2012 01:49 AM

He raises his left eyebrow. Crossing over to him, he backs the male up against the post on the other side. He slips the cigerette out of his mouth and blew the smoke in a ring out into the air. "And to have your trouble here is another thing my master would not care for" he says, "your family has been nothing but a bother for generations, so if you don't mind you are not welcome here. You are no better use to me then this cigarette." With that he dropped it, and snuffed out the small flame with the toe of his boot sealing his point. He then turns away from the male. "Now run along, before you get in over your head mortal" he walks back towards the main house.

Silverbeam 05-12-2012 02:02 AM

Inwardly he fumed, how dare he be talked to this way. Even as rivals there is a certain amount of respect expected. He was a wealthy and important family head. Demon or not how should a servant act and have authority were keys that reflected upon the house and in turn their masters.

"What kind of servant talks so much above his own master, is it not for him to decide? Your actions will reflect badly upon him and in doing so you prove your skill to be less then the lowliest human. Were it not for you power no man would want you." He practically huffed, his lips slipping into a pout that was more cute then manacing.

Kiyoto 05-12-2012 02:09 AM

He paused and looks back "I do not need to make you mortals look bad, you do that oh so well on your own. Plus I would rather not be wanted at all then to be someone's pet, so why do I care what people think of me or how I act? I have nothing to prove nor am I here to make others happy." He shrugs a bit not showing that the males words had stung slightly. 'If it wern't for your powers no one would want you'....His words stuck in his head. He sighs lightly, and continues walking.

Silverbeam 05-12-2012 02:43 AM

He stood, folding his arms across his chest not moving from the gate as he watched the demon move back to the house. He would not leave, he would stay until the matter was settled, or if....or if he were dead. He may have to come up with a different plan of attack. His will not being enough to get his way bast the butler.

Kiyoto 05-12-2012 02:49 AM

He paused at the door long enough to push the button so the gates swung closed. His body felt suddenly a bit heavy. He leans against the heavy wood of the doors, closing his eyes for a moment. Those words still echoed in his mind and made a deep sick feeling begin to grow in his stomach. He gently slid a hand over his mid section, before opening his eyes.

HarukiAi 05-12-2012 05:12 AM

The teen peered back at his butler as he stood in the door way, he wonder who might have come unexpectedly at a time like this. It wasn’t even past breakfast, what could possibly be so important. His eyes narrowed slightly at the smirk he was given and he turned on the balls of his heels stalking off towards the dining area, he didn’t need such harassment this early in the morning.

The dining room was empty as he stalked up the table towards the only area that had food lain out. He pulled the chair free from the table and slipped into the chair. He chased his food around his plate only taking a few bites from it sporadically. He didn’t touch the orange juice that stood in the cup next to his plate, but merely stared at it as if he might will it away somehow. How he despised drinking it, merely because the doctor told him to. It wouldn’t cure his condition, so there was no real point.

He ordered one of the servants, who happened to pass by quickly, to take the plate back to the kitchen and properly dispose of the remaining food. He looked up at the clock hanging for the wall as he walked back towards the entrance to his manor. ‘Where is he…?’ He thought as he slowly walked into the main hall. His eyes catching the figure of Vincent against the door, ‘What is he up to now?...’ he thought as he crept slowly into the hall.

“Are the matters settled with our guest?..” He asked hesitantly as he slowly walked further into the hall. He didn’t know what had happened, but he didn’t like the feeling of the air around him. It was tense with something unknown to him and it was being emitted by the demon. That in and of itself was enough to be wary about, an upset demon wasn’t something he wanted to deal with. He frightened Sion enough when he was normal, this was more than he thought he could handle though he would nerve admit to that. He stopped in the middle of the hall not far from where Vincent was against the door. The teen gave him a questioning look as to ask ‘Are you alright?’ with his eyes, because he wasn’t sure he could ask the demon with words.

// I'm sorry, I've made you guys wait again. :headdesk: I am really sorry. A few of my friends whisked my off for a cosplay day out as a parting party since they are leaving for home, because college is out for the summer, so this was our way of saying good-bye and we'll miss each other. Again I'm sorry, I would have notified you if I had known sooner that it was going to happen.

Kiyoto 05-12-2012 11:20 PM

Vincent's eyes moved up at the voice of the male. The whites had turned black, and his usual hazel color had turned a dark red. "I am fine" he quickly looked away, his hair falling to hide the eyes once more. He stepped away from the door, and moved towards the stairs. "Your old friend is outside if you wish to speak with him, not my concern, just don't get into trouble." He walked up the steps, his feet felt heavier with each step. A sigh escapes from his slightly parted lips as he moved to the hall.

HarukiAi 05-12-2012 11:39 PM

The white haired boy stared back into the eyes of the demon before him. His stomach twisted into a knot as he looked into the black-red eyes. ‘This isn’t okay…’ He thought as he tried to breathe past the lump that had formed in his throat. “…You shouldn’t lie to your master…” He squeezed out though when he heard his voice it sounded somewhat normal, but strained as well. His heart was pounding in his chest as he watched the demon pass him out of the corner of his eye. ‘Old Friend?..’ He thought as he walked hesitantly to the door to peer out the glass towards the front gate. He couldn’t make out who it was, but his options for guessing weren’t that long of a list.

Sion looked around searching for another servant, “Let the man in at the gate and take him to the study, nowhere else.” He ordered as he looked over his shoulder losing sight of Vincent. ‘Damn it something happened.’ He scowled as he quickly made his way up the stairs turning into the hall where he spotted his figure walking a head of him.

His hand reached out and his finger clasped around the thin wrist of his butler, but it wasn’t a tight grip. He knew that Vincent could break any hold, no matter how strong; all he wanted was for him to stop. “What happened?” He huffed out as he looked up at the back of Vincent’s head. “And do not say it was nothing; I am not a child anymore I can handle the truth.” The time for being treated like a child had past when his parents died. He was an adult now and the family head, this was his duty.

// Kiyoto, if we aren't in the Victorian Era, then what Era are we in or just a general time frame, if I may ask.

Kiyoto 05-12-2012 11:56 PM

(not sure...I guess it would be just an alternate time. I wanted it to not be to old, but not to far out there. Since the rival has his high tech toys (lol) I guess it would have to be an alternate time o.o.)

The demon paused for a moment feeling the hand weakly clasp onto his wrist. He didn't turn right away, but slightly found a small smile forming on his face when the master said he was not a child anymore. "There is a difference between being a Child, and a Child" he turned his head slightly to look back at him. "I am fine, just being reminded of my place so to speak. I am nothing more then a tool to you pathetic mortals, if it wernt for this wretched contract, I would have been killed long ago."

He slightly lowered his head "sometimes I wish your ancestors had killed me..." he says barley above a whisper. "To be forced into this....heh....a fate worse then death for a demon" he looks up at the cieling. "Do you have any idea what they would do to me if I tried to go home now?" he shakes his head "no..of course you don't, and why should you care? Your ancestors didn't, not at all..They saw what they wanted, and took what they wanted as you mortals always do." He paused for a moment.

He couldn't help the thoughts of his past from creeping into the present, and the more they did, the stronger the pain inside him grew. He forced it down, getting upset and hurt here would do no good. Especially if he did it in front of the master, it would be a sign of weakness to a mortal. He would not let them see him as anything other then a powerful being ment to be feared. In the past, that fear and lust for his power had been the only thing keeping him alive. Now however....he was more then uncertain of his future
.

HarukiAi 05-13-2012 12:32 AM

Sion frowned at the statement of difference between being a child. He knew he wasn’t the most mature of people, but he was trying. It was the best he could do at this point; all he could manage was to pick up the pieces his parents had left behind for him and he was running out of them quickly. “You have not stepped out of your place. I am your master, whether I would like it or not, and I am the one to determine if your action are proper of not.” He said flatly, “..Would you have really preferred to die?...” He asked softly as he looked down at the floor allowing his white hair to fall in front of his eyes. He didn’t know much of the demon’s past, other than the thing his parents had told him, even then the information as slim, which was why he had gone through so much trouble to find information himself.

“You are right…I don’t understand, but if you want out then find a way to break the contract…Because I cannot…” He whispered the last part, he didn’t ask for this burden to be put on his shoulders. As far as he knew, he didn’t think he could accomplish whatever his parents had planned. “…Why would I care?...” He asked sarcastically as he looked up through a film of his hair to watch Vincent’s face. “Because you are an individual…You may be a pain in the ass and you harass me for your pure amusement, but I have no right to bind you. That is why I care, because I can’t stand this unbearable weight that has been put on to my shoulders.” His voice trailed off as he peered up at him.

His fingers slipped from Vincent’s wrist and his hand fell to his side were he allowed it to swing slowly to a stop. He took a quick intake of air before he turned on his heels away from his butler. ‘That was entirely uncalled for..’ He thought as his face slowly turned red.
