"Don't mention it," Altair murmured. Really. He didn't want her to mention this. Ever. To anyone.
|
Iris snickered softly, but settled in and quickly drifted off to sleep. She needed the nap.
|
Altair stayed there and stayed awake until later that night, when he moved to get up and get Iris up as well.
"Iris. Time to wake up." |
Iris stirred and mumbled something incoherent, snuggling deeper into the bed. Nope, she was still firmly in 'naptime.'
|
Altair rolled his eyes. He'd given her a few hours to sleep, and they had to get moving again.
"Iris. It's time to wake up. You know what will happen if you don't." |
Iris mumbled again, but this time made herself sit up. She knew she couldn't sleep indefinitely.
"Alright, I'm up," she said, rubbing her eyes a bit. |
Altair nodded. "I suggest you leave soon to eat," he said quietly. He planned to see if he could find anyone else up on the rooftops.
|
"Alright," Iris replied, getting up from the bed. She gave him a quick kiss. "If you run across our stalkers, try not to kill any of them. We want the Italians to like us." Because she knew what he was planning to do.
|
"I won't. I may, however, give them a little chase." Altair smirked and watched her for a few moments. "Take Anna and Ezio with you."
|
"Ezio may want to go with you," Iris pointed out. "And, considering that aside from the fact that he's five hundred years misplaced, this IS still Venice. It might be a good idea for him to go with you."
|
Altair shrugged. If Ezio wanted to come, he wouldn't stop the Italian, but he'd prefer to have Ezio watch the girls, just in case.
After all, neither girl had taken a life, and training was different from actual combat. |
Iris took the silence for what it was and shrugged.
"I'll see what he says," she said. |
Altair nodded, pulling his boots back on quickly and glancing over at her. "I will go with you to their room." It just made things easier, anyway.
|
Iris nodded as she slipped on her own shoes.
"Let's go see what the plan is, then," she said as she headed for the door. |
Altair nodded and followed her out the door, knocking on Anna's door.
Anna pulled the door open after a minute, still looking sleep-rumpled. "What?" she grumbled. |
"Didn't you want to get some dinner out?" Iris asked, trying not to grin too much at her friend. It was obvious Anna had been snuggling in with Ezio.
|
"Oh. Right." Anna yawned briefly. "Alright, give me a minute to grab shoes and I'll be ready to go." She stretched and left the door open, going to go grab her purse and her shoes. And see if Ezio was going to go.
|
Ezio was up the moment there was a knock on the door, so he was already pulling his boots on when Anna came back into the room.
"Time to go?" he asked. |
Anna nodded, stifling a yawn and brushing her hair out with her fingers before pulling her own boots on.
"Alright, Iris. Where did you want to go? Anywhere in particular?" She glanced over at Ezio too, to see if he had any opinion. |
"Just somewhere I can get a good alfredo," Iris replied. Ezio shrugged slightly, but glanced at Altair to see what he thought. He knew the Arab wasn't keen on group outings.
|
Altair shook his head just slightly. He wasn't going to stay with them, anyway.
Anna nodded and moved out into the hallway, shutting the door after her and Ezio. "Alright. Well, let's go take a look." |
Iris nodded and followed her friend. Ezio followed after them both to keep an eye on them. He figured he had a general idea of what Altair was thinking, and it was a good idea for one of them to stay with the girls, just in case.
|
Altair nodded his approval of that and slipped outside, scaling the wall easily to get up on the roofs. It was just sunset outside, so he knew he could get away with it and hide fairly easily.
Anna just started walking around, lookng around for a nice-looking restaurant. |
Iris, however, had pulled out her smartphone.
"I love technology," she commented as she ran a basic search for restaurants in the area. "I missed my smartphone before." |
Anna snorted. "Yeah, but you're so buried in that you miss being in Italy again." She smiled, more than content to just kind of wander. She wasn't starving yet, after all.
