The button had jammed on the talkie, so Vixan could hear the actions going on. England was going to get himself killed. She switched the channel to the speaker system of the gate England was at. "Let him through. Do not, I repeat, do not hurt them. Send a medic to take care of Fox, and Wolf, please escort them to Block B-18. These are direct words from Chief, over." Almost in sync, the snipers lowered their weapons and the guards made room for them to pass.
A woman in a blue uniform with an eyepatch walked up to England. "Arthur Kirkland, I have been assigned to escort you to Block B-18. I am Sergeant Major Wolf. I do not see why you are allowed and not Mr. Braginski or Mr. Beilschmidt, however I will not argue. If you will follow me." She turned and headed down the path. |
England hadn't expected her to come to his aid. He'd fully expected to be shot on the spot and wondered if he'd been Prussia or Russia if she really would have let them kill him. Probably not. He followed the woman with the eyepatch, his troops following. No doubt Vixan would be angry, but he wouldn't listen to any reason she tried to have. He fully planned on saving her, even if it meant kidnapping her and dragging her back to England with him.
"I am sorry you are seeing the country in this condition." There was distaste in her voice as she looked at some of the destruction. "It usually is a very beautiful place..." She said with a tone of sorrow in it. "We weren't expecting this at all. We all thought Zenrai had been destroyed by Russia."
He despised the destruction here. How did Vizonia plan on protecting herself against a thing like this. He was furious by her ignorance. "I don't see why she thinks doing everything on her own makes her stronger." He was really wanting to kill something at the moment, preferably this Zenrai piece of shit who was responsible for this.
"She's had a hard life Mr. Kirkland. Don't take offense at her not wanting help." She cast a glance to the Britain. "She was put through famine and oppression before Russia and Prussia started caring for her... And then she always wanted to make them proud by being strong... And show them that they hadn't taken care of her in vain, and she's still stuck on that... I think, it's only gotten worse..."
England started feeling tired again, getting sick of his life of war and pain. It seemed that was all he ever had was war. The people who meant the most always hated him as a side effect of some sort of battle. He wasn't even going to comment on what the eyepatch lady had said. He didn't feel like talking, seeing their leader so weary worried his soilders and he could hear their whispers about him getting old and weary. Maybe that was true. Maybe he was to old for all of this.
They walked all the way to the told Block. "here we are. I must return to my post." She walked off just as Vixan walked up into sight of the Britain. She froze for a moment before running over and hugging him tightly. "You're such a fool..." She kissed his cheek softly to show she was actually appreciative of him being here.
Arthur placed a hand on her back protectively, glad she didn't seem angry. "I may be a fool, but at least I'm willing to admit it." He said, a soft smile forming on his face. "I was worried that you weren't safe. It seems I was right when I look at the way your land has been treated. You and I need to talk. I want to know exactly what is happening and who Zenrai is. I'm probably going to have to murder him, so let's start from the beginning of the story shall we?"
She sighed, her memory going back to those days. "Sit with me" She said as she sat on the shattered wall of a building. "Zenrai, or Zell, was the micronation that almost succeeded in killing me... he gave me the three scars on my stomach... We had been in a war with each other for three long years before he finally attacked me directly" She thought back. "He truly thought he had killed me, which was his worst mistake, and Russia attacked him, and was supposed to have killed him. Apparently he didn't want to die." She sighed. "So he returned, but still follows is same old way of leaving his and my showdown to fate..." She pawed at her neck, frowning when she remembered that he had stolen it from her neck. She spit disgustedly at the ground. "That prick kissed me before he did this." She pulled her shirt up to reveal the bruise that was now purple under her scars.
England made a hissing sound. "Yup. I'm gonna fucking kill the bloody bastard." He growled, looking very frightening as he grinned sadistically. "Where is said asshole?" He asked, wanting to kill the man himself.
"If I knew that, I would not be sitting here Arthur. Now calm down, okay?" She stood up and popped her back. "Now then..." She pulled Arthur to a tent where there was a map on a table. She stuck a few pins in a little over half of the blocks that were marked on the map. "These are areas we have secured and just need back up in. The rest have been having issues getting through any information."
"So, do you want me to back up places you have secured, then go and fight in ones you still need back? I have plenty of men awaiting orders."
"That is exactly what I need." She looked at the map with a sigh. "I really am glad you pushed to help... I... I don't know why... I just can't.. I can't force myself to ask for help..." She sighed once more and ran a hand through her hair then shook her head. "I need to get back to where I had been..."
He rubbed her hand lightly. "You don't have to ask with me. I want to help. You're not weak because you need help. We all do. That's why we make alliances." He sighed and then stepped out to tell his men what to do. "Please stay with me so I can look after you." He pleaded.
She nodded. "Okay, but I really have to get back to that block..." She walked over to her armored car once more. "Get it."
He climbed in without complaint. He'd follow her into the gates of hell of that proved a necessary action.
She got in and sped off, not bothering with her seat belt. "This is not going to be too hard to repair... The buildings I mean... Unlike America, we aren't trillions of dollars in debt." She said as she turned onto a back road. "The plants will take a while, but it's fine..." She pulled over at another tent and got out. "Come on."
He nodded. "Yeah, you may not be trillions of dollars in debt now, but if you kept getting into trouble you'll have to borrow money." He said, remembering how America had used all that money, a lot of it wasted on the military.
"That's why we don't ask for help..." She lied. "We don't want to depend on other's finances..." She walked over to a tall man with spiked silver hair. "Arthur, this is Leon, my second-in-command."
"Nice to meet you." Leon said before looking at the strategy laid out on the map of this block. |
"Well, it's not like I expect anything in return. I love you." He looked at the man he'd been introduced to. "Hello Leon."
"We've not been able to push them further than the point we are at. We need help." Leon said, glancing at England. "It's a good thing she let you through."
Vixan looked at Leon. "So, we just send some of the forces there..." She pondered for a second when her walkie talkie buzzed and had a high-pitched whistle. "Sheisse!" She pulled the talkie off her belt. "Put in the headphones Vixan." A distorted voice said. "I know if you don't have them in." "Sheisse...." She fiddled with a few cords and put a headphone in. "It's in. Speak." Her face stayed concrete like a statue as she listened to the voice. After a few moments, she took the headphone out. |
England got a serious look on his face. "Tell me what's happening."
"don't worry abo- ... It was Zenrai." She said softly. "It was just a warning for me to stop trying to fight."
He nodded. "Did you get a location?"
"No. He was been doing this on and off..."
