Okay so here is a couple ideas to make it seem more unafraid street kid camping in a city.

I do think the headphones makes it look more like a street kid. I think I like the middle one the best so far. I like the flashlight, but I don't think a street kid would mind being in the dark, so I don't think they need it. Maybe make the face look a little more mischievous?
Also, have you tried one of the smog poses from the basement dweller CI? (To darken up the sky a little bit)
It may be too much for it though

Yeh, that smog is definitely too much. I think the dirt was better. Can you put it on both sides?

Also, what if your street kid was in an old abandoned building and that's where they had their camp outs? Like one of the walls from something strange, or would you prefer to be out in the alley. I think it would look good either way

I think I like the wall [yes] If you wanted to remain out in the alley though, you could try adding like the bathroom CI background or something like that to make it look like you were outside in the alley, and the holes in the building show the inside?

Unless anyone has any more suggestions, I think I'm pretty much done with mine. I'll probably wait until tomorrow to turn it in, just to see if anything brilliant pops into my head, but this is all I got so far.

I feel like my idea will either go over really well, or completely miss the mark and get me booted. I've also just realized that my camping experiences are very very different from most people. O.o

Maybe the Moody (green-ish) sunset instead of the blue one? That would better match the green items you already have.

It's too bad we don't have any trash cans that could layer over the alter fire. XD

I think it's great that you're getting risky and going completely different from the typical, outdoorsy camper. I understand the purpose of the knife, but it's throwing me off. Perhaps it's too long...or perhaps it isn't needed? Your avatar suggests city kid, but not much of a camper. Maybe add a pillow and blanket in her hands? Make it look like she'll be sleeping outside and camping in the city. Not just hanging out at night in the streets.

Also, I love the changes you've made to your current avatar. It looks like she'll be staying in an abandoned building and is tuning out the creepiness of the city at night with her music.
