I'm excited for a real round with elimination.

i'm back from camping :] gonna try to do the judging now while i briefly have internet.

The nice thing about judging for something like this is I can give people whose outfits I liked the same the same score as someone else. I don't have to go, "1st place this round, 2nd place this round, 3rd place this round!" etc.

I can go, "Okay, this person's entry clearly fits the theme as written, so they start out at 5 points. I see where they were going with it, so I'll score them higher for that because their thought process is clear. I can also see they've put real thought into their entry, so I'll score them higher. Also, I think they're being creative here, so I'll score them higher for that." And then it's all down to personal response to it for the final few points or half-points.

So, yeah, I do have a system for judging. I don't really find it difficult to pick a number. (I may waffle between adding a 0.5 or not, but that's ultimately unlikely to be the difference between someone "going home" or not. I mean, sometimes it does come down to 0.5 between scores, but in the earlier stages, I think it's less of a decision-maker.)

What I find difficult is to try to write up my thoughts without sounding like I've given people really crappy scores or that I hate their work. Worse is the idea that when I give my reasons for my response, some people might take it as me dictating how they should make their avatars. Nothing could be further from the truth, as I'm just explaining why I had the reaction I did to the avatar. Whether the person I'm talking to thinks it's valid to their style or not is all them.

I'm rambling. I had a real dilemma over commentary this second time around, because I knew someone was very likely to be eliminated from the competition. I really don't know who it will be - but I have a guess and I don't think it'll be the one(s) I scored the lowest out of the group, seeing as they're the sorts of outfits people in Avatar Chat typically like a lot. So I'm just imagining that someone leaves the group thinking to themselves, "CK said she didn't like X about my avatar... that's such a petty little thing to bring up - but if she mentioned it, it must have been something she hated a lot because my score is really low!" or something. I don't know. xD;

*bites nails* <- actually I don't bit my nails. But I do lots of nervous habit type stuff - like ramble - I do ramble quite a bit. :D

i know... its kinda surprising. im not even sure what to say about it.

on the other hand, i am totally going to watch silent films all week for this entry! i totally already have a brilliant idea! and it sticks to the same theme as my entries have been. im not sure if thats a good thing or not though
