"Well I'm sorry for getting you this far you ass!" Romano spat back. He didn't have any other bandages beside his own, so he settled for tearing his shirt up and using that as a bandage. After fixing Spain up, he grabbed the oars and paddled in the same direction the others were. With Spain in the back, it was harder to do, and with his already late start he kept falling behind the others. No-one seemed kind enough to wait.

Spain fought to sit up. "Hey!" He yelled as loud as he could and one boat actually looked back. "Ya damned landlubbers! This is your captain! Wait the fu** up!" He yelled at them and they stopped. He slumped back down and sighed. "Better?"

"Yeah" Romano grunted. He was paddling faster, trying to catch up. He couldn't wait to reach the island, find Germany and his brother, and then run. What he does best. Besides messing everything up. "Haha. You got it worse than me now." He poked at Spain.

Antonio tried to smile but it came as a grimace. "Yeah. I know." He replied. He was pretty sure he was going to die. His men wouldn't bother with him in this condition. They'd pick a new captain, or fight for the position. He'd be left on the beach and he'd not be able to fend for himself. He'd die.

Romano pouted. That wasn't the reaction he wanted. He tried again. "It's only what you deserve you bastard." Romano stopped for a little break, splashing some cold sea water on his face to cool him down.

"I know that too." He responded. "But then, such is life." Hentried to shift himself, very uncomfortable in the boat. "You really suck at working. You know that right?" He asked, a small smile forming on his lips. "Your brother told me you were bad at it, but I didn't want to work him. He's to small. He'd be scared stiff if he had to work around my men. You be sure to take care of him."

Romano looked into the sea. "So what ever. Just cause he's the better one everyone likes him more" Romano confessed angrily, beginning to row again. "If that's the case I'll just go die or something." It's not like everyone needed to italies anyway.

"I like you better. You're stronger and certainly better looking...and less of a whiner." He'd had to listen to Italy's chatter and crying for hours when they'd been trying to eat before Romano got at dinner. "He's an idiot, you have brains." He hoped that helped. "Besides, the world needs more like you. Just because you suck at chores doesn't mean you're not good at something."

Romano blushed a little. No one had told him those words before. Not even his brother. "I suck at everything I do though" They had almost caught up to the boat that waited now. The crew in it started rowing as well, a little slower this time.

Spain frowned. "you saved my life, you have a great personality. No do not suck." He looked at the boat ahead of them and sighed. They were going slow now and they'd be there soon.

Romano smiled bitterly. "It's because you don't know me that well." He rowed a little faster, determined to reach the shores before he unwillingly poured out his hearts secret to the captain that had killed his men, sunk his ship, and was going to have him as a slave.

He rolled his eyes. "Fine, then pray tell, what makes you suck? What makes you no better than anyone else? I mean, we all make mistakes." He wanted an answer as to why Romano had such low self esteem. It just didn't make much sense to him.

Romano kept silent for a few minutes, trying to figure out how to say what he was thinking. "Everything I tried to do, ends out wrong. My brother does everything better. Grandpa preferred him. The only thing I can do well is argue, and make everyone hate me." It was true. Romano knew it himself. But he found to hard and infuriating to change.

Spain just sighed. "You're a silly boy. I hope you know that. If your family can't appreciate you, I could use you. After a wound like this, my crew is going to leave me. I may even end up useless for a good while. I could surely use a caregiver." He paused, knowing that there was very little chance a man he had kidnapped would help him. "And I'll pay you if you help me." he added. "I don't think adapting to normal life will be very easy for me. I'm to used to the sea.

Romano thought about the idea. He'd have someone who appreciated him, a fellow pirate, someone who wanted him around. It'd be change from what he was used to. BUt the thing was, he'd probably have to live without the sea for a while, and probably without his brother. "I guess I could help out for a little bit" Romano mumbled. The island they were destined for was in plain view now, they'd get there in no time.

He smiled. "That will be wonderful." He was glad to have at least someone to help him until he got better, even if that guy wasn't trustworthy. He knew he'd have to just see what happened. "Hey, Do you want to get a small place near the coast when we get there? I've got plenty of gold."

"That would be good." Romano thought about it. "Wasn't all your gold on the ship?"

Antonio laughed and pulled a bunch out of his pockets. "Always be prepared." He said, smirking a bit. "I've got more in my back pockets and in a pouch tied around my neck.

Romano smiled a little bit at that. "Good thinking" The island was extremely close now, many of the other boats had already reached it, and were running off. Romano tried to see if he could spot Germany and his brother, but they seemed to mix in with the crowd. "Dammit"

Spain sighed. "maybe we'll see what you're looking for when we get ashore." they weren't that far away an he was sure that Romano's sibling would wait on him. They seemed close and he knew he'd wait if it was his family that was what was going on.

"Maybe." Romano still couldn't see them. He wouldn't have been surprised if Feliciano had already fled though. Though he was expecting to at least see Germany. The boat they were following had sped right ahead, and they pretty much at the beach now.

Spain settled back into the bottom of the boat. "My back hurts." He said softly.

"I wonder why." Romano spat out. At least he wasn't being forced to work. Romano's own injury was sending little waves of pain through out his body. His rowing was angering it a lot. But they were so close. Then he could stop rowing and rest.

Antonio sighed "You don't have to be a smart ass." He informed the young man. He struggled to sit up, wincing painfully as he did so. They were so close, they'd be there any second and he wanted to be ready to get out of the boat.

"You're right. I'm sorry your injured. It's alright I'll do the work. Like I have been." Romano said the last part through his teeth, the oars hit sand which made an awkward movement for his arm, which yanked his injury, making it sear up again. He got out of the row boat, the water was up to his waste, and started pulling it up further up the shore, so captain injured wouldn't get his back all sore.
