Another day in Smallville
 

Lex sat in his office, he was hearing about how all of these people were being saved miraculously, and he couldn't help, but, to think about that day he ran into Clark Kent on the bridge. Clark was his best friend and somehow he survived being hit head on, Lex kept the car that was pulled out of the water later on to examine anything that might give a clue to how he was find without any wounds.

Normal people would've died, anyone else would've been in a coma, or even the slightest bit hurt, however, Clark wasn't. Clark even saved Lex's life that day, if it wasn't for him, he would've died. Clark was usually busy with school unlike Lex who was busy running his share of his father's company trying to get others to trust him. No one could trust Lionel Luthor for all the things he had done in the past.

(this was all i could come up with for now)

Clark sat in one of his class rooms thinking about all the people he saved. These powers he had was a gift and he was saving people from being hurt or even worst killed. He didn't know how he came with theses powers but at lease he was doing good things by helping people. Hearing the last bell rang for school to be let out he grabs his books and heads out of class. He knew one thing that no one could never know about his alien heritage that his abopted father had told him about. So it was hard to keep this secret from his friends cause who knows what would happen if anyone found out the truth. Until then he just had to be careful as possible. Especialilty after his latest save a life of Lex Luthor from that car.

Walking out of the school as his friends was busy with something else like sports and stuff. He just decides to head on home to do some chores around the house. His father was somewhere on the farm and his mom was in the kitchen busy cooking. But at lease he didn't mind how his parents thought cause he was a gift to them. Both of his parents was very protectived of their son and his secret.

Lex couldn't focus, he figured by the time it was, Clark would be home from school or at least soon that is. "Where are you going, Lex" Lionel Luthor who was sitting in a chair with a glass of wine in his hand, he was watching Lex to see what he would do next, if he would be doing his work for the business or just sitting around and doing nothing. Seemed like his son just couldn't focus today "I'm going out for a bit" Lex wasn't about to tell his father as to where he was going "You have work to do" Lionel spoke watching his son grab his light grey suit jacket; lately this week had been really hot, not abnormally, just regular summer weather. It was going to get into fall soon and that meant the weather would be changing to better weather.

Lex walked out of the room as his father just shook his head smiling, but, more in disappointment.

Martha looks up hearing Clark "Oh your home if you are looking for your father..he is outside in the barn. Tell him supper will be done." Clark smiles setting his bag down on the bar before he moves over "Ok mom I'll go tell him." gave her a kiss on the cheek before he heads outside and goes to the barn. His dad, Jonathan, was busy working on a tractor that was broke down. Clark walks into the barn and looks around before seeing his dad come out from under it. "Need any help?" Clark says to his dad. Jonathan looks up and nods "Sure why don't you see if this thing starts? I been working on this all day." Clark nods and heads to the door as he still wasn't used to his super human strenght. He pulls the door right off the hings "Uhhh..sorry..its still something I got to work on." Jonathan sighs knowing it was hard for his son. "Oh well nothing can be help right? Don't worry about..its just another thing I got to fix on the tractor now." chuckles. Clark sighs setting the door down. The door was very heavy probbly weights a ton but Clark lift it like it was a feather. "Oh well anyway mom say it nearly supper.."

(ok im back lol and off for four days)

Lex leaves the office with his jacket tossed over his shoulder until he got to his car. He tossed it in the passenger seat of the car, got in closing the door, and put his seat belt on. Starting the car up, he pulled away, and headed towards where the Kent's lived. Jonathan Kent wasn't especially fond of him, Martha was alright with him, however, neither of them trusted him.

Lana was busy in the coffee shop, she had started getting used to working, even though it was hard. But, now that Lex had helped out, it was a doing great, and new ideas from her friends kept it alive. Chloe on the other hand was busy after school writing up the school newspaper, nothing interesting had been happening lately, not even with her friends, even though she wasn't supposed to write about them.

It took Lex awhile with traffic to get to the country road, but, once he was there, he was glad he had brought the convertible. It was nice outside, a little chilly starting up, but, for early autumn it was great out. He loved the feeling of the wind on his face and loved the view the country had to offer.

(Thats good to hear)

Jonathan looks over at his son and nods "Alright....tell her I'll be right in..let me see if I can fixed this door on the tractor." chuckles. It was a joke and Clark knew it. They tend to tease him about his powers. It just was something he had to work on more but still Clark thinks his dad should just go ahead and buy another.

Clark walks out of the barn and stretches. He looks around his home and could tell autamn was coming closer. The evenings was growing cooler and the days shorter. Clark like living out here in the country cause it was always beautiful when it turn autumn. It was also a good day to hang out with friends but they had their own lifes. Like Lana with the coffee shop and Chloe with the news paper. But for some reason something told him to stay home today.

Seeing the mailman go by he figures the mail had came by. Clark heads down the small road and goes to the mail box to get today's mail. For some for another strange reason his mind wonders to what was Lex was doing. It been an while since he last saw him. His parents didn't trust Lex at all because they figure he expected something about the accident and how Clark came out of that crash with no injuries. Clark only wish his father would like him since his mom was ok with it. Its not like Lex was going to find out about what really happen....right?

Clark goes thru the mail as he turns to head back to the house.

(keep in mind if these are short in any way I would have to tend to my friend's sister because she is really sick)

Lex pulls up seeing Clark from down the road getting his mail and pulled over in the driveway turning the engine off "Hey Clark" he smiled as usual and got out of the car looking over at his friend. It looked nicer outside now that he showed up at the Kent's place. Though, he wasn't really expecting to see anyone outside, but, when where the Kent's inside for any reason. Lex pressed the button on his car that made it beep meaning he had locked it up.

(Aww sorry to hear about your friend's sister. My mom is sick herself..she is in the hospital)

Clark heard a car pull up beside him as he turns around and saw Lex get out. He smiles as Lex says hi to him "Hey Lex how you been? Its been a while." It has been an while but of course both of them had a life of course so it was nothing they could do about it. Clark looks over at the car and nods to it "Nice car...so what brings you out here?" says. He was glad to see his best friend so he figure that Lex was to see him and not on any kind of busiesses.

(Aw I hope she gets better, I found out mouthwash it a great way to get rid of a toothache)

'Yea it has been awhile hasn't it' Lex thought to himself remembering it had at least been a couple of weeks since he had actually pulled himself away from his work. "I needed something different, traded the cars in" he said adding "I came out here wondering if you wanted to talk" anything to get him away from all the work his father was trying to get him to do. Not to mention he was able to talk to his friend, he didn't dwell too much on the accident when talking to Clark, and as long as his friend's weren't around then there would be no problems. No one really liked the Luthors, but, those who did kept their distance too. It wasn't a bad thing though, it gave them their peace that was for sure. "But, it looks like you're in the middle of something" more like going inside to read the mail "How are you doing?" Lex asked leaning against the car.

(Ahh never tryed that before I might try it if I get toothache)

He chuckles at what he said and nods "Yea different is always a good thing. Well its good to see you in something different." smiles lightly, "Oh yea since it has been an while." Clark always wanted to talk to Lex but their busy lifes did always get in the way. But he wasn't sure what his dad would say but knowing his mom wouldn't mind Lex being here. Clark looks at the mail in his hand while looking back at Lex "Oh this I was just getting the mail for mom...she is busy cooking supper..if you want you can stay for supper I'm sure my mom wouldn't mind having another at the table." chuckles again "Knowing my mom she will have penty to go around the table. Anyway I been good busy with school and other stuff."

(I have a cavity in one of my back teeth, a big one, so it was nice to try it after I found it online)

Lex realized he normally didn't dress so formal unless it was for an event or party, he dressed nice most of the time, but, not so formal. That was more of his father's tastes and expectations than his own. "Others stuff? That reminds me, have you asked out Lana yet?" he knew the answer to that, Lana liked Clark alot, but, Clark just couldn't or didn't see it. When Clark said something about Lex could probably stay for supper, but, he doubt that Clark's father would like that at all. "I don't want to intrude, I'm pretty sure you'd want your dad in a good mood" he somewhat joked, it was a small inside joke, because whenever the Luthors were around, people never looked that happy.

"Uhhh no..not yet...I just think there just something that Lana wouldn't understand about me thats all.." like his secret. That was his biggest problem was about his heritage and his powers. He kept that big secret alway from everyone...Lex, Chloe, Lana and the rest of his friends. Clark sighs deeply figuring Lex was right...his dad didn't like the Luthors at all. But he couldn't let Lex come all this way without giving Lex something to eat. "Well yea you are probbly right. Right now he probbly be to tired from trying to fixed the tractor. But still I would just feel bad about letting you go back without offering you something eat." He really wanted Lex to stay since this was rare for the two friends to talk about things.

"Not be able to understand, like what?" Lex (almost put clex lol) asked now he was a tad curious, he heard what Clark had said and it sounded like he could use some hang out time with a friend. "Okay, I'll be on my best behavior" he chuckled as it was a joke because if he did that, Jonathan would just be suspicious about him. Lex couldn't see or understand why Clark wouldn't want a girl like Lana, looks, popularity, and brains all tied into one. She was almost like the perfect match for Clark, but, something in Lex's mind says he could do better. Nonetheless, Lex was not about to get involved in that or say what he thought, he would keep to himself, too much drama, and he had enough from the press as it was.

Knew this was going into deep water, so he decide to let it go before he gets to deep. Clark shakes his head "Uhh its nothing..I guess I'm just abit paranoid about being turn down." shrugged alittle. But he was glad to hear that Lex would say now that just leave his dad to behave himself. "Oh cool now just make sure dad will be on his best behavior..but I'm sure mom will take care of it. Lets go." He turns and heads back to the house. Martha was staring out of the screen door wondering what was taking Clark so long from the mail box.

"Whats he doing here?" Jonathan had saw Lex pull up when he had return to the house. Martha looks over at her husband and shakes her head "Please don't start anything, Jonathan. Clark will never forgive you if something happens." says moving over to set another plate at the table on the other side where Clark sits at the table. Jonathan sighs figures he should but he still couldn't trust the guy but he would try his best to behave himself.

Clex-Wake Me Up Inside (I so loved that video)

Lex smiled, almost grinning at the fact that he knew Clark agreed on the 'being behave' part. Lex spoke to Clark before they went in "Don't be afraid to ask her out, I am pretty sure she wouldn't reject you" Lex knew that all too well, Lana and him had talked multiple times before whenever he had stopped by. Whitney just wasn't her type of man apparently and it showed at some points.

Lex didn't care if people trusted him or not, it would make it easier if he was trusted by others, but, life wasn't that easy. Well, except it seemed that way with Clark 'Not the time to think about this' he thought to hismelf following Clark inside and greeting his parents "Hello Mr. and Mrs. Kent" he figured it was best to treat them formally, not sure what it would spark if he spoke in another way. "Hope you don't mind, Clark invited me to stay for dinner. I figured afterwards we could talk" in simple words, or hang out that is.

'Yea easy for you to say....you don't have a secret like I do. I'm like hey you want to go out with me, Lana? Oh by the way I'm an alien from outerspace,' Clark thought to himself. Lana might pass out or think he was crazy. as he opens the door and walks inside with Lex. "Yea I think she will be working tomarrow so lucky its Saturday. I might go over there only if you come with me." looking over at him. Hoping Lex wouldn't be to busy tomarrow to come. Not sure why but he would feel alot more better if Lex came. If he had went by himself he probbly just chicken out like many times before.

Martha smiles when the boys come in "No I don't mind..its rare that we have a guest here..supper is ready so please have a set..anything you would like to drink...water or tea?" says cheerfully. Jonathan looks up from a tracker mannuel he was ready at Lex he would remain silent as his wife spoke. Jonathan was always cautious when Lex came around. Knowing Lex was probbly still questioning how he came out of that crash with scratches and not Clark.

Lex thought to himself, he could use a break from his normal schedule, lately he had gone to more meetings than parties, and it was overworking him. 'I'll have to clear my schedule' he thought to himself knowing he'd do it for Clark anytime if he really wanted him around. He was his best friend and that's how he saw him as.

"Water is fine, thank you." Lex doesn't speak again until he sits down and glances over at Jonathan "How are things going, Clark tells me you were working on the tractor" lex noticed that Jonathan liked to keep busy and the tractor seemed to be his favorite to do so. Though Lex would ask Clark later if he remembered about the crash and what all happened. Bringing it up now wouldn't be a good idea and he would wear out his welcome ticket.

Clark walk over and sat down at the table while Martha nods then heads to the kitchen to get Lex some ice cold water. "Dad I really think you should just buy another tractor..with all the problems it has and now the door. I just think you need to get another new or used one." says remembering him ripping the door right off the tractor. Jonathan looks over at Lex as he puts the book away knowing Martha would get onto him reading at the table.

"Yea I been working on the tractor for the field for a week now..it keeps braking down everytime I need it." shrugged. Then looks over at his son "Maybe your right..but I'm not sure if I could effort new one..well maybe I can a used one..that odd thing just needs to be retired." chuckles alittle bit. Martha comes back and sets the glass beside Lex's plate before she sat down. She was used to being the only woman at the table so she was used to hearing this kinda of talk. "Alright boys are we just going to talk or eat?"

In between eating he looks over at Martha "This is really good, Mrs. Kent" Lex spoke formally, he would offer to buy them a new tractor, but, every time he offered them money or something they would turn it down or refuse it. There was almost no point to it "My offer still stands if you ever need any help with money Mr. Kent" Lex spoke casually. The Luther's had enough money to give out to anyone, he was sure he could give the money to the Kent's and say it was for charity. He would just have to do a cover up which would be easy enough considering how the media loved their news. Lex caught himself glancing over at Clark every now and then "How has school been?"

(Heh yea ^.^)

Martha nods "Thank you, Lex. I'm sure you don't get much home cooking at home." says taking a bite of her food then takes a sip of water. Jonathan heard about the money again no matter how many times they offered. He always refused so there was no differents. "Thank you for the offer but I think I can manage getting the money for the tractor." Clark listens to them wish supper would hurry up and be over with. There was so many tensing in the room enought to make anyone uncomfortable. Looking up at Lex and nods smiles lightly "Its going good of course the school just only started last month so. Just waiting for things to happen in my senior year."

(i'll be up for a bit tonight, at least for another 2 hours)

Lex knew that Martha was right, they could have someone cook their food for them or they could just go out and get something to eat at a restruant just as quick. "That's good, well the food was really good, thank you again Mrs. Kent" Lex stood up and picked his plate up taking it over to the sink placing it in there. He might not be too good at doing dishes, but, he did have manors. He walked back to get his glass and rinsed it out. Of course this was probably weird to anyone, but, it felt right even though his family name would think otherwise.

Once Lex got up from the table so did Clark. He takes his plate and glass following Lex to the sink to wash his. It would give less for his mom to do. "Come on lets go to the barn..." says anything to get Lex out of the house. It was hard for Jonathan to keep his composer around Lex. So Clark thought it was best to get distances from them anyway possible. And the barn was a great place to be since he usualy hangs out up there sometimes. Clark moves over and kissed his mom on the cheek "Yea that was really good..thanks mom." before heading out of the back door waiting for Lex to come.

Lex nodded slightly not saying anything besides whispering "Good idea" to Clark, then he followed him to the barn allowing the screen door of the house to shut behind him. Once they got up to the room Clark was normally in, he spoke up "Well, as awkward as that was, it was nice to eat dinner with a friend" he laughed a little as they had gotten to the top of the barn. It was great to see the stars from up there, especially on the night like tonight when it was nice and clear out.

Clark chuckles abit and moves over sitting on the sofa. He looks at him "Yea sorry about that...I knew if I didn't get you out of there soon dad was about to blow. But yea it was good to have a friend over. We don't get that many guest now days like we have when I was little. " shrugged alittle. Things had change alot since he was little mainly his powers didn't come until he mature. So there had been alot of change since then only because his very over protectived parents was nervous someone would find out about Clark. But the real truth about Clark's heriage was yet to come. As for now no one knew what will happen. "And thanks for the offer but my dad likes to keep his pride. I just wish he just take the money after how many times you offered it us." sitting back.
