Um, hi?

Hello everyone.

I joined a year and a half ago, but had to stop getting online due to certain situations in my life. It seems I decided to come back for unknown reasons, but I hope to have a great time here and meet new people.

In other words: total newb over here :3

Cherry Who? 06-22-2012 02:24 AM

Hi, Eltiask, welcome back! I hope you're able to enjoy your stay.

So do you have any hobbies or interests?

EltiaskWolffe 06-22-2012 02:38 AM

Thanks for the warm welcome :D

Well, it might sound weird over here, but I'm a Med Student. I truly enjoy medicine and all related to medicine, though I must say I'm a Biochem freak. Also, I'm a bit of a nerd: astronomy, biology, chemistry, genetics, psychology... You name it, I've heard of them. Maybe that's the main reason I want to focus for a little bit in investigation.

I also enjoy video games quite a lot. I consider myself a gamer, though I have a tendency to prefer RPGs over FPS or sports games. I love the FF series, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Kingdom Hearts (currently getting into the whole series), and Assassin's Creed. My favorite video game character is Zack Fair, from Crisis Core, FFVII.

Music is something that moves me. My favorite group is Linkin Park, but I also enjoy orchestral music, especially movies and games' OSTs.

I'm an amateur photographer, my dA has some of the photos I prefer to take.

So yeah, that's a little bit about me :)

Immortal_T 06-22-2012 02:56 AM

you seem like a pretty cool guy ^_^

and you got a nice taste in games.

EltiaskWolffe 06-22-2012 03:04 AM

Thanks : )

Thanks about that. Games that have no background history don't really pull my strings. Add a nice, deep story behind each character and you'll have me entranced playing said game.

Cherry Who? 06-22-2012 03:30 AM

Neat! I'll be going to school for psychology myself. :) It's definitely a very interesting field.

Ooh, I love Final Fantasy too, but I'm pretty behind on the series. My favorite is IX.

Are you comfortable sharing a link to your dA? I'll peek at your photos. :)

EltiaskWolffe 06-22-2012 03:47 AM

That's great! If I hadn't been so interested in Medicine, I would've decided to major in Psychology!

I was going to add my dA link to my profile but I couldn't do it. Here it is: cerberus112261 on deviantART

Cherry Who? 06-22-2012 04:03 AM

Oh, I know the feeling! There are so many things that I'm interested in and would love to study at length, but there just isn't the time. I'd like to think that I'll continue taking classes once my proper education is complete. Just for general knowledge and enrichment. :D

Ooh, you have some very nice photos! I've been thinking about opening a flickr account myself. I like taking photos, but I've never taken a photography class or anything like that, so I'm sure I'm doing a million things wrong. But it's fun, and sometimes you get something pretty out of it. :)

EltiaskWolffe 06-22-2012 04:07 AM

Ha! I'd say that I'd love to keep on studying, but I'll never stop studying after I graduate and specialize on something (which is why I decided to study medicine). I get your point, though: it's good to keep our brain working!

Thanks! A friend of mine who studies journalism taught me the basics, but I just know that a photography's gonna be great when I see it and capture it. Though sometimes I just have beginner's luck... XD

Cherry Who? 06-22-2012 05:04 AM

I mostly use macro and experiment with unexpected angles. Those two things combined help hide what must be my rampant flaws. Though I'm sure that's a pretty cliched tactic that most people would roll their eyes at.

What are some of the things your friend taught you? I'm curious.

EltiaskWolffe 06-22-2012 05:19 AM

To be honest, I wouldn't be able to tell. I'm just an amateur photographer XD

Well, she taught me a little bit of composition and exposure, as well as certain angles in which to capture my photographs. Also, she taught me a little bit about portraits (where should I cut someone's body and where shouldn't I) and fountains. I love taking pictures of fountains! Exposure on sunsets, low light environments, using flash in midday, and most of all, capture your emotions into your photo.

I think that's what she taught me : D

Cherry Who? 06-22-2012 05:23 AM

Using flash, eh? I've never had much luck with flash looking nice in my photos, it always looks cheap and washed out. But then, I'm sure it's fine on pricier photography cameras. I just have a little canon powershot.

EltiaskWolffe 06-22-2012 02:48 PM

My camera is a Sony Cyber-Shot. It's not that great, but it's a semi professional camera. I'm learning how to use it properly on my own, which is fun : D

Silver Storm 06-22-2012 04:33 PM

Welcome back EltiaskWolffe. I love taking pictures to but I am VERY much of an amateur.

EltiaskWolffe 06-22-2012 04:39 PM

Thanks for the welcoming : )

We're all amateurs. It's just patience and practice that marks all the difference :D

Cherry Who? 06-22-2012 05:02 PM

So how are you doing this fine Friday?

EltiaskWolffe 06-22-2012 05:12 PM

Well, it's cold over here in Mexico City. I'm at home and not planning to go out at all today. My toe still hurts and I'm free from school.

I haz marshmallows! =3

Cherry Who? 06-23-2012 04:57 AM

Cold? This is my jealous face. It's hot here and our air conditioner is mildly broken. ><

Aww, what happened to your toe?

EltiaskWolffe 06-23-2012 06:09 AM

It's been raining for a whole week. I love rain and cold weather, so it's perfect for me!

I banged my toe on a dresser and my nail bruised my flesh, so it had to be taken out (at least the part which didn't belong inside my flesh) and it still hurts a little bit. Nothing too big, but it hurts.

Cherry Who? 06-23-2012 06:26 AM

Oh, that sounds nice. I like rain... except for when it's raining. Then I miss the sun.

Aaaah, that's horrible, I'm sorry that happened. :gonk: I've been lucky enough to have never injured a toe so badly that the nail had to be removed or fell off on its own. But lately I've been hearing a lot of people mention that it happened to them, so I'm beginning to wonder if that puts me in the minority.

EltiaskWolffe 06-23-2012 07:21 PM

You're part of the minority! It has happened to me twice on the same toe and once on my thumb. On my thumb, my nail literally fell off ._.

I like rain! I love it! I just don't like it when I'm going to Med School dressed in my uniform. I hate it at those precise moments.

RoadToGallifrey 06-23-2012 10:49 PM

Hey, welcome back to Mene! C: Wow, a med student! Nice. I studied psych this year, but absolutely hated the subject, so I think I'll rule out mental health as my career of choice. As for gaming, good choices, I play most of them games too! What's your system of choice?

Snowberry 06-24-2012 03:53 AM

Welcome to Mene! Wow! I love the Celestial Light, IX. It's beautiful!

Aww... and ouch! Be careful!

Thanks! Most of the time I play on my 360, though I have a PS3 for PS3 exclusives. I'd play on PC, but mine can't really handle the demands I have XD
