"His mom just fucking slapped him." She was cursing, something she never did unless she was truly hurt, offendeed, or mad. "I don't care how fucking good their motherfucking lawyers are, that's not how you treat a god damned child!"
Gilbert's eyes were all wide. "Whoa. Chill. What happened?"
"We were outside your house, talking about me meeting them and she came out, slapped him and dragged him into the house. Now where is your phone??"
Gilbert just handed her his cell.
She opened it and stepped outside, calling the cops.
"This is 911. Please state your emergency."
"My friend is being hit out of cold blood by his mother."
The person on the other line was quiet for a moment. "May you give details?"
"His mother came outside while we were talking, smacked him and dragged him in the house. She was yelling angrily at him earlier today, and this isn't the first time."
The officer paused again. "If you could give us an address, we'll be there in a moment."
She looked at the address on the Roderich's house. "615 Black Eagle Drive."
"Well send over someone to check on your friend."
"Thank you..." She said, relieved.
Sirens came shortly after, riding over to Roderich's place where he denied it all. He didn't want to go to a foster home where he'd be treated horribly and split from everyone and everything he knew.
Elizaveta noticed he denied it all and sighed. "Should've known better. Gil, I'm going home. Ludwig, if Roderich asks tomorrow, I'm sick with the stomach virus." She left Gilbert's house, walking home quickly and locking the door to her empty house where no parents would ever be. She went to her room and burrowed under her blankets, planning to sleep everything away.
Gilbert sighed and knew there was no way to help. He looked at Ludwig who held the same expression. "That poor girl." They ended up having Roderich over for the night after the guy came over with a badly beaten body. Clearly his mother had not been happy about the police arriving.
Elizaveta couldn't fall asleep, knowing she probably hurt Roderich worse than helped. She stayed awake the entire night, counting the notes in her favorite piece of music and pacing in the silent house. Roderich would hate her for invading so much in his life, and she wouldn't be able to blame him.
Roderich sat at the window all night long, staring out in a way that worried both German boys. "Hey..Roddy..?" Gil said softly. "Mhm?" "You can stay with us from now on ok?" "Mhm.."
When Elizaveta finally fell asleep, she had been crying, sitting on the floor by the couch in her music room. Her dreams only sent her images of a beaten, bloody Roderich, but she couldn't awaken from the nightmares.
Roderich eventually fell asleep, and didn't wake until late in the afternoon, being held by Prussian arms, and bandaged by German hands. "Mm..time for school already..?" The worried Germans sighed together. "No Roddy. School is over." Roderich panicked. "What?!" Gilbert ran a hand through his hair to calm him. "Roderich, your mother died last night. She over dosed. Your dad doesn't want you. We got your things, and you'll be staying with us, so it's ok now." all of the tension left his body and the Austrian rested, going back to sleep.
Elizaveta woke to a new round of tears, and she had a hard time getting the images out of her head. Still, she dressed in a skirt, a casual button down, black bomber jacket and black cap before making her way to Gilbert's house, hoping for comfort from her nightmares.
Roderich was still asleep, and Gilbert was more than a little stressed. He stood outside on the porch and had a smoke. "Hey Liz." he said as she approached. "Hey, Roddy's inside. I wouldn't go in there. He doesn't look to damn good...I wouldn't go in there til Luddy's done patching him up."
Her eyes widened slightly, all the images from her dreams flashing back in her eyes. "I-I caused it... Didn't I...?" She didn't even come near enough to the house for it to even be implied that she wanted to go inside.
Gilbert shook his head. "Naw. This happens to him all the time. His mom's crazy." He said shrugging. "He was mumbling something about you last night." He said. "Also, his mother died last night, so he lives with us from now on."
Her eyes went wide once more while he spoke. "S-so..." She sighed heavily. "How bad... How bad is it?" She asked, walking a bit closer.
