"Yes, I am tired but what about you? Where will you sleep?" he asked and looked at the second bed they brought in. "No it's fine...you take the bed Vivian." he insisted and looked at Vivian seriously. "I don't mind sleeping against a wall or anything really." he assured and yawned.

"I am fine for now, please go ahead and get some sleep." Vivian said softly and you could tell she wasn't tired yet so she really would be fine.

Valefar looked at her closely before nodding. "Very well then, I'll get some sleep." he agreed and climbed onto the bed that was provided for him before slipping under the covers. Hospital beds, he hated them, but they were still quite comfy. Glancing at Vixen, he still held her hand and yawned before closing his eyes and quickly falling to sleep.

Sometime during the night or early the next morning something changed... Vivian had fallen asleep in a comfy arm chair leaving Valefar by Vixen's side. Suddenly Vixen's heart rate dropped and she started to gasp weakly before her breathing stopped all together. Alarms suddenly sounded and the lights came on in the room as doctors rushed in and placed a breathing mask over her face and started to pump her chest as her heart was failing. |

Valefar was sleeping peacefully until some alarm went off. Groaning in annoyance, he sat up in bed and watched the doctors rushed in to help Vixen...who was apparently acting up. It took him a while to register what was happening before he widened his eyes. "What's going on?!" he demanded, although he wasn't sure he'd get an answer. His eyes looked at the monitors and watched the many numbers and lines on there, becoming much more confused. |

A nurse looked over to Valefar and frowned a bit as she also saw that Vivian had awoken too. "Her breathing stopped... and then her heart stopped." the nurse explained as calmly as she could as the doctors were working on Vixen but her heart was barely responding... not enough so that her lungs would function properly though. |
"No...no, no, no..." he said and looked over at Vixen. "Love...love don't do this!" he said and kissed her hand various times. "I love you, and I can't lose you...you're all I have left Vixen. You can't go!" he said and became afraid. What if she did die right now, what would he do? He'd be left alone...and he didn't want that. "I already lost Eofe...I can't lose you too..." he whispered as he frowned and nuzzled her cheek affectionately.

Vivian went to Valefar's side worriedly as she watched the doctors and then saw them grabbing for the shock pads and pulled Valefar's hands away from Vixen along with his face as the doctors tried to jump-start her heart but it didn't seem to do anything. Vivian held Valefar close to her as she watched what was going on.

Valefar was trying so hard not to break down in front of the doctors and nurses in the room, but seeing all that they were doing, it was getting hard to stay calm. Is she gone? No...she can't be gone! Vixen stop it! Come back already! he said mentally and balled up his hands into fists as he watched in fear.

Normally after three minutes of no responce the doctors would have stopped... but seeing the hard eyes of Vivian when they were about to they continued. It took nearly five minutes before Vixen finally gasped and her heart started again and everything slowly returned to normal and the room calmed. A few of the nurses and doctors left while a few stayed until they were sure that she would be stable.

Valefar waited until all the doctors and nurses were gone, before breaking down and crying as he gently stroke Vixens cheek and buried his face in her neck. Please don't do that again love...you might not be so lucky next time. he thought to himself as he let the tears fall down his cheeks and onto her neck.

Vivian frowned and rubbed Valefar's back before seeing Vixen slowly open her eyes and groan weakly. "W-what's wrong... l-love?" Vixen asked weakly and worriedly not knowing that she had actually technically been dead for five minutes.

Hearing her voice, Valefar stared at and frowned before just burying his face in her neck and crying some more. He couldn't even talk right now, he was so shaken by what had happened that no words would come out even if he wanted to. You left me...that's what's wrong. You left me but then you came back. he wanted to say but couldn't.

"V-Valefar? W-what happened? I-is it the baby? Is it okay?' Vixen asked fearfully not knowing that it had been her and not their baby. At this time Vivian had actually left the room for a few minutes so she actually didn't know that Vixen was awake.

After he had calmed down, he sighed and just stared at her before climbing back into his bed. "You were dead...you died for a while...but you came back. The baby is fine don't worry." he answered and frowned. "I need to go back to sleep...the monitors went crazy when you died...and they woke me up." he added and stared at the ceiling.

"Oh..." Vixen said softly before moving to pull Valefar close and kissed him ddeply and lovingly. "I'm sorry love." she whispered softly. "I guess we'll talk about names tomorrow then." she whispered as she stroked her hand through his hair and against his cheek softly.

Valefar widened his eyes at the kiss but happily kissed her back lovingly. "The baby is a girl, just like you asked for." he whispered back and smiled as he wrapped his arms around her gently. "I love you Vixen..." he whispered as he leaned into her touch and closed his eyes to get some sleep. "Don't ever leave me..." he muttered before falling to sleep.

"I love you too... and I won't ever leave you Valefar." Vixen said softly before she fell asleep in his arms and smiled some in her sleep nuzzling him softly and lovingly.

Valefar slept peacefully and when the morning rays shone through the window and fell across his face, he groaned and slowly opened his eyes. It felt as if the night had gone by too fast. Quickly, he looked over at Vixen and made sure that she was breathing before sighing in relief.

Just as Valefar was waking up a nurse came in and was about to feed the baby figuring that Vixen was probably still too weak to. "Oh, well good morning Prince Valefar, how is Vixen doing?" she asked softly since she had just started her shift.

Valefar looked at the nurse annoyed and sighed. "Vixen is doing fine...she's just sleeping right now." he answered and rubbed his eyes tiredly. "What time is it?" he asked curiously as he looked at the nurse.

"It's about nine o'clock." The nurse said softly before hearing Vixen groan as she turned over some and opened her eyes. "Well good morning." she smiled to Vixen who smiled slightly then yawned. "I'll be right back... I'm gonna see if the doctor thinks it will be okay for one of you to feed the baby." the nurse smiled before leaving the room. Vixen looked over at Valefar and smiled tiredly nuzzling and kissing him lightly.

"Nine o'clock..." he repeated and yawned loudly as he watched her leave. He looked over at Vixen and stared at her blankly before kissing her back and placing an arm over his face tiredly. "It's too early..." he whined and peaked over at Vixen. "How did you sleep love?" he asked her quietly.

Vixen laughed slightly before nuzzling him again. "Actually... not that bad." she said softly before looking up when a doctor came in and checked their babies stats and smiled warmly as he pulled her out of the machine and unhooked her from the other machines. "She's still weak... but she can breathe on her own now so we don't need to keep her in there all the time." the doctor smiled as he handed the bundled and cooing little girl to Vixen who smiled and tears started to fall down her cheeks. "She's so beautiful." she smiled tearfully as she cradled her baby and then took the bottle that was offered to her.

"Love it isn't funny..." he groaned and pulled the sheets over his face. "Nine o'clock is much too early to be waking up." he stated and yawned loudly before peaking over at Vixen and the baby. The baby looked pretty cute actually, but he did and said nothing as he let Vixen feed her and closed his eyes tiredly.
