"But it is funny, see I wake up at about nine every morning... well until I got pregnant." Vixen smiled before leaning down and kissing her babies head. She couldn't believe it... she was holding her baby... hers and Valefar's baby... a small precious little girl. She just couldn't wiped the smile from her face... nor could she stop the tears of joy that kept rolling down her cheeks.

Slowly, Valefar sat up and looked at Vixen and the baby. He wanted to tell her not to cry, but he didn't tell her anything. He knew that they were tears of joy so he allowed her to cry and just sat there . Looking at his nails, he began to think of names for the baby...what would Vixen like?

"What do you think of Mela Oira? It means Love Eternal." Vixen said softly as she pulled the empty bottle from the little girl and carefully burped her. "Do you want to hold her?" she asked softly as she looked at Valefar lovingly.

"If you like that name, then that shall be her name." he answered and stifled a yawn. It was an odd name, one he had never heard of before, but if she liked it then he approved of it. Looking over at Vixen, he hesitated and thought for a bit; Valefar never really held a baby before. It was easy for Vixen because it was a motherly instinct...but he didn't have that, what if she puked on him. No way, if I hold her she better not puke on me...or else I won't be holding her again. he thought to himself.

"Do you like the name? Did you already have a name in mind?" Vixen asked softly then smiled as she watched Valefar. "She's your baby Valefar... don't look so scared." she said softly "Just hold your arms like this and make sure to support her head." she said softly as she showed Valefar how she was holding her. |

Valefar looked at Vixen and smiled. "I've never heard of that name love. It sounds very interesting." he answered and shook his head. "No...I had no name in mind love really." he added and took the baby from her, holding her as she instructed. "I know she's my baby...but children can be scary sometimes..." he said and chuckled nervously. |

"Okay then, Mela Oira it is." Vixen smiled softly before kissing Valefar's cheek lovingly as she looked down at their little girl. Before long Vivian came in and smiled at the both of them. "You don't have to be scared though, she will love you just as much as I love you, I promise." Vixen smiled and Vivian smiled as she heard this and walked over to Valefar's side to get a look at her grand daughter. "So have you two came up with a name?" she asked softly with a smile on her lips. |
Valefar didn't say anything and just stared at their child. He was still holding her somewhat nervously, true he didn't have to be scared, but kids were spontaneous. "I know...I know I shouldn't be scared." he answered quietly as he just stared at the baby. "Yes...Vixen came up with a name." answered Valefar before looking at Vivian. "Mela Oira." he said simply.

Mela yawned and then cooed softly at Valefar reaching for his face cutely... but almost didn't seem to know what direction it was in. "That's a lovely name... but did you not have any thoughts on one yourself?" Vivian asked and watched Vixen stare at their daughter. "I... I think something's wrong..." Vixen whispered as she moved her hand in front of Mela's face but she just continued to coo not even seeming to notice the change. "I... I don't think she can see..." she whispered worriedly.

Valefar ignored Mela and shook his head at what Vivian said. "No....not really anyway. I mean, I just wanted Vivian to choose something that she liked." he answered and looked over at Vixen and then at Mela. "You think she's blind?" he said softly as he narrowed his eyes.

"Maybe not completely... she clearly knows you're holding her and that your face is somewhere above her... but I don't think she can see where... Mom could you go get a nurse and tell them what I think might be wrong?" Vixen asked softly and Vivian nodded before heading off to get a nurse. "I don't care if she is blind... she's beautiful all the same" she said softly as she rubbed Mela's cheek softly and lightly played with her small hands.

"Love if you don't care if she's blind...then why worry about it?" he asked honestly before handing Mela over to Vixen. "Yes, she's quite adorable isn't she?" he said and chuckled as he looked at Mela and began to think of how to act around her. What did he have to do? He worried naturally, would he be a good father? Was he even ready or fit to be a father?

"Because we need to know what we may or may not have to deal with... if she is blind we'll need to find her a seeing eye pet as soon as she starts to crawl... and we need to have them check her for any other problems that may cause savier issues later." Vixen said softly as she looked down at Mela and smiled as she yawned. Before long a doctor came in and smiled at the three and then walked over to Vixen. "What seems to be the problem?" he asked kindly.

"Well, can't her guardian be her seeing pet?" he asked as he ran a hand through his hair casually. Her explanation made sense though and he looked over at the doctor before looking at Vixen. "Vixen thinks that there is something wrong...with our child." he said quietly.

"Maybe... but you know Sinz and Souls still haven't found her guardian yet... she might not have one after all." Vixen said softly then nodded and looked at the doctor. "I think there might be something wrong with Mela's eyes..." she said softly and the doctor came over and checked the baby girls eyes a with a few different techniques before sighing. "It must have been when you were attacked... she's nearly blind... she may gain more vision as she gets older or she may loose more vision and become completely blind... we won't know until she's older... I'm sorry that's all I can say for now." the doctor said softly before watching Mela yawn and fall asleep in her mothers arms.

Valefar listened carefully to what the doctor said and nodded. It all made sense to him, it was saddening, but he was just glad that it wasn't anything worse. At least she was alive. "No guardian?" he repeated and looked at Vixen with confusion. "I thought you said babies get guardians. Why would Mela not get one?" he asked and frowned. It didn't seem fair really.

"Well... I'm guessing demons don't have guardians... I told you there's a chance she wouldn't have one because of the amount of demon blood she has." Vixen said softly as she looked down at Mela for a long minute with a smile before looking at Valefar knowing he was probably confused.

Valefar just stared at Vixen and sighed. "Okay you lost me completely now." he started and rubbed his forehead. "So we demons don't have guardians...well okay then." he commented quietly. He was absolutely confused though, but he felt that if she explained he'd probably just end up even more confused than he already was.

"Valefar you already knew that, you're the one that told me that." Vixen said then placed one of her hands on his cheek while she held Mela with the other. "Are you okay love?" she asked softly and a bit worriedly.

Valefar blinked. "Oh...right I remember telling you that. I guess I forgot that I told you that." he admitted and tilted his head to the side. "Yeah, I'm fine love...why do you ask?" he asked her, a little surprised she was even asking.

"I don't know... you just seem kinda distant right now and it worries me" Vixen said softly before seeing Vivian come back in. "Would you mind if I held my grand daughter?" she asked with a smile and Vixen looked at Valefar wondering if he had any objections.

Valefar looked at Vixen and raised an eyebrow. "I seem distant?" he repeated and shook his head at what Vivian said. "No, go ahead and hold her Vivian it's fine." he answered and glanced at her before nodding. "Vixen, I don't know why you think I'm distant." he started but stopped when the door opened and his parents came inside. "How are you feeling Vixen?" asked Cresil. "How is the baby?" asked Usha. Valefar immediately smiled and hugged his mother who happily hugged him back and cradled him in her arms as her fingers ran through his hair soothingly. |
"well... either that or distracted... you've been very quiet that's all." Vixen said softly before handing Mela to Vivian who smiled and cradled her lovingly. Vixen was rather surprised when she heard Cresil and the fact that he actually seemed.... concerned about her? "I'm doing okay... and we've already named her. Mela Oira." she said softly but wasn't really sure how to tell Valefar's parents that she had died for nearly five minutes or how to tell them that Mela was mostly blind.

"I've been quiet? Maybe I just have nothing to talk about." he answered and sighed softly. "Why don't you tell them what happened Vixen?" commented Valefar before resting in his mother's arms. "What happened?" asked Cresil confused. "I'll tell you then." started Valefar. "In the middle of the night...Vixen died for a few minutes. Then this morning, we found out that the baby is slightly blind." he explained and frowned slightly. "The doctor said that she might gain her sight back as she grew older...or she might turn completely blind." he concluded. Usha frowned and looked at Vixen. "Are you sure you're okay dear?" she asked worriedly.

Vixen nodded some in understanding then looked down a bit with a frown as Valefar explained what happened and then looked at Usha and smiled. "Yeah I'm okay... weak but okay. Actually... I'm more then okay, I'm a mother, I got to hold my beautiful baby girl and know that she was okay." she smiled some as she looked at Usha then at Mela who was still sleeping in her arms.
