Tamara snickered but nodded and gestured to the door. "After you."
|
Christine nodded and headed outside, locking the door after they were both outside.
"Right, you get to lead the way since I don't actually know what room he's in and stuff." |
Tamara nodded and made her way to the room she knew was Dresden's, and knocked.
|
Harry opened the door and looked at the girls before he moved aside so they could come in.
"Found something interesting?" |
"I think so," Tamara said. She went in first, since she knew Christine would be wary enough to want someone ahead of her.
|
Christine glanced around a little nervously but didn't say anything.
"Alright." Harry sat down on the motel bed, waving for them to make themselves comfortable. "We'll compare notes, then." |
"Then I take it you've found something, too?" Tamara asked, sitting so that Christine could be on her other side, opposite of the wizard.
|
"Yeah. Bob and I made a list of people, gods actually, who could do something like this." Harry pulled the list over, handing it over to them.
|
Tamara took the list and looked it over. Some of the names were familiar.
"Christine has a list of greater demons with this kind of power," she said. She gestured to her friend. |
Christine handed over the list quietly.
"Huh." Harry looked it over. "Good list. What do you think, Bob?" |
"I'd tell you if I could see it from here, Harry," Bob replied smartly. Tamara smothered a snicker.
|
Harry rolled his eyes and moved the list over so Bob could see it too. Christine couldn't help but grin.
|
"This isn't bad," Bob said, looking over the list. "Not bad at all, considering the source."
|
Christine bristled a little. "Considering the source?" she asked.
"Bob, be nice," Harry chided. |
"No, no, that's not what I meant," Bob hurried to add. "I mean, coming from a nephilim, it's a great list!"
|
Christine and Harry both looked briefly confused.
"Nephilim?" Harry pressed, looking at Christine. When she looked just as bewildered as him, he looked back at Bob. "Explain." |
"You can't tell me you can't tell, Harry," Bob said chidingly. "With all of the contact you've had with the heavenly hosts?" His orange eyelights flicked to Christine and back. "Nephilim are the half-human offspring of angels. Obviously, one of them thought that a human looked mighty attractive."
|
"So that's what that is," Harry muttered. Because yes he'd been able to tell something was odd and angelic, but he hadn't thought it was Christine.
Christine was somewhere between telling Bob he was wrong and pointing out to Tamara that she wasn't crazy for hearing angels. |
Tamara blinked and looked at Christine.
"I hope you realize we're not going to start wearing a cross now." It was Kali's voice. |
"Yeah, no, not happening." Christine shivered briefly.
"Aright, Bob, you said the list looks decent. Anything you feel you need to add?" |
"Nothing that isn't on either list," Bob replied.
|
"Alright." Harry looked at the girls. "Well, looks like we've got our list of suspects."
|
"Now that we have it, what do we do with it?" Tamara asked.
|
"Start searching," Harry said, shrugging. "See what else we can find. Minions would be good, we can get information out of them. Otherwise, we see if we can find the person-demon-god-whatever responsible."
|
Tamara nodded. She would see about visiting the brothers later to see if they had anything to add.
