Leila rolled her eyes at that but opened the door to the first room, which was decorated in tan with hints of blue and dark green. "Okay, I'll take this one. You said the bathroom's in the center, yes?" She looked back at Katherine for confirmation.

Katherine nodded.

"It is," she said. "Go ahead and get comfortable. We can start sightseeing at a more reasonable hour." And that would give her time to get herself a quick bite before settling in for a little while.

"Sounds good to me." Leila yawned and moved into her room. "Come pound on my door if you need me." She shut the door quietly and went to go take off her shoes and fish out a night shirt so she could flop into bed and pass out for a while.

"I will," Katherine replied. Going into her own room, she set down her bags, slipped her wallet into one pocket and her cell phone into the other, and left again. Time to get something to eat.

A while later, she came back full, relaxed, and ready to settle in for a few hours. She took a quick shower to rid herself of any lingering traces of her dinner, and then changed into a simple cotton nightgown. Then she settled down in her bed to read for a bit.

Leila didn't wake until mid-morning, and then she got up and zombied her way over to shower and get ready for the rest of the day. She was definitely still jet-lagged, but she figured it wouldn't last too long now that she already had a good start getting up in the morning.

"Kat, you there?" She knocked on the door on the other side of the bathroom, the door that led to Katherine's room.

Katherine waited the requisite few moments, and then went over to open the door. As usual, when she was alone, she didn't have to keep herself in check, and was able to get across the room in a split second.

"Are you sure you're awake?" she teased her friend.

"Only mostly." Leila yawned again. "But I'm awake as I'm going to get for the moment. We should get ready and head out soon, before we lose any more of the day."

"I can be ready in a few minutes," Katherine replied. She grinned a bit. "We can stop for coffee as soon as we leave."

Leila nodded. "Sounds like a plan to me. Let me just go fish out my purse so it doesn't weigh a ton and grab shoes and stuff and I'll be ready to go." She grinned briefly, starting to get more excited about being there, and went back into her room to gather her things.

Katherine nodded and went to finish getting ready. She put on a simple sun dress and sandals, brushed out her hair, and made sure she had a hair tie tucked into her purse. Then she went to meet with Leila.

Leila was dressed a little more casually in shorts and a blouse, but she didn't much care. She'd rather be comfortable than look pretty. She already had her purse, out of which she'd taken several items that she didn't think she'd need, and she grinned briefly at Katherine.

"Ready to go?"

"Ready when you are," Katherine replied. She glanced at the time on her phone as they walked outside. She knew approximately how long she could be out and about before she had to find some shade again. She glanced at her friend. "Where do you want to go first? There's a coffee place around the corner, I think. Attached to a bakery."

"There. We're going there." Leila headed outside and around the corner, almost drooling at the smell of freshly-baked goods. Her stomach was busy reminding her that yes, she did have to eat.

"Okay, breakfast first, then we can go sightsee and shop."

Katherine laughed lightly and followed.

"Of course," she said, following her friend. She paused for a moment when she thought she saw something out of the corner of her eye. When she turned to look, however, there was nothing there. She studied the spot for a second or two more before going to meet Leila again.

Leila didn't even notice that her friend had stopped for a few moments, simply trusting that Katherine wouldn't get separated from her for long. She got in line at the bakery, studying the menu.

"See, this is the problem with that menu. It all looks good, and I don't know what I want to eat."

Katherine barely glanced at the menu.

"I believe they have chocolate-filled pastries," she commented. "Don't you like chocolate with your coffee?"

"Chocolate and coffee go together wonderfully," Leila said with a little grin. "Alright, I'll get one of those."

Then she actually looked at Katherine. "You okay? You look a little... spooked, or something."

"It's nothing," Katherine said after a moment. "My eyes playing tricks on me." She wasn't about to tell her friend that she thought someone had been following them. If the following continued, she would take care of the problem herself. No sense in worrying Leila.

"Alright. If you're sure." Leila studied Katherine for a moment before she shook herself briefly and returned her attention to the rest of the shop.

"Well, at least people here seem nice."

"I think you're right," Katherine replied, nodding. "I find that people are nicer than you generally think they will be. It's refreshing."

Leila nodded her agreement of that. It was very refreshing when people were nice, instead of douchebags.

She got up to the front of the line after a few minutes and ordered before looking over at Katherine to see if she wanted anything.

Katherine just waved a hand and shook her head.

"I'm fine," she said. Which was the truth; she'd fed well the night before, she wouldn't need anything else for the time being. She did, however, glance towards the door when she thought she saw the same figure from before. There was definitely someone following them now.

Leila just nodded and paid for her things, taking her coffee with a grin and moving off to the side to add cream to it. She only noticed something odd when the back of her neck prickled, and she shivered briefly and glanced around furtively.

Katherine noticed Leila's reaction, and nudged her friend back out of the building. She wanted to get away from the majority of the crowds, just in case. She had a hunch now about who was following them.

Leila let Katherine steer her out of the bakery, taking to the streets instead. She didn't mind walking around for a while. She certainly didn't mind seeing Russia this way.
