Leila got up late again the next day and spent the time until sunset finding food and showering and getting comfortable again.
So she was more than ready to go exploring when the other two got up. |
Katherine got up in plenty of time, and met Leila in her room.
"I've got to get back on a daytime schedule again when we get home," she commented. |
"I know what you mean," Leila said with a snicker. "I'm still trying to get back on a somewhat normal schedule."
"I'll help you once we get back to the states," Katherine offered. "For now, it's okay. Although you and I are going to need to take a day to go out and about around here to see everything that's not open at night."
Leila nodded. "Yeah, I figured. Too bad for Carlos. We'll just have to enjoy things for him."
Katherine grinned a bit.
"Take some pictures for him," she suggested. |
"Good idea." Leila grinned. "You know he'll be jealous. Or at least pouty."
"He knows his limits," Katherine replied. "And if he's smart, he also knows that humans don't do so well on a nighttime schedule. You need to go around during the day a few times, anyways."
"Yeah." Leila sighed. "I don't do so well when I don't get sunlight at least every day." Then she shrugged.
"I know." Katherine grinned a bit. "We'll get you out there during the day soon. No worries."
"As soon as I get back on a more normal schedule." Leila sighed. "You two are screwing my schedule all to hell."
"No, Carlos is screwing your schedule all to hell," Katherine replied. "I was being good and keeping to a daylight schedule before he appeared."
"This is true." Leila grinned. "We'll pin the blame all on him, shall we? Might as well. Especially while he's not around to defend himself."
Katherine snickered just as Carlos came out of his room.
"What's all the noise?" he asked, covering a yawn. "It's early yet." |
"Oh, nothing," Leila said with a grin. "We're just plotting. Nothing you need to worry about. Move along."
"If it's Kitty plotting, I should worry a lot," Carlos joked, stretching a bit. "I'm sure she's plotting my demise somehow."
"Most of the time," Katherine agreed mildly, although she was mostly joking. |
Leila rolled her eyes at the two of them. "Alright, that's enough," she said, though her voice was mild. "Come on, let's go take a proper look around here."
Carlos rolled his eyes, but nodded and grinned as he offered Leila his arm. Katherine trailed behind them a little ways, just keeping an eye on things.
Leila took his arm after only a second, starting to look around. She didn't have a destination in mind, instead preferring to just kind of wander for a bit.
Carlos kept an easy pace with her, letting her dictate where they went. Hey, Ireland wasn't his trip, so he wasn't in charge, and Katherine certainly didn't seem to be taking the lead.
Leila found a few fun places to explore, although she paused when she saw a rather odd shop at the end of the lane. It had stacks and stacks of old books and odd knick-knacks.
"Why do I get an odd feeling about that shop?" she asked quietly, glancing at Carlos and Katherine both. |
Both vampires stopped at once and glanced over at the shop.
"It's giving out weird vibes," Carlos finally offered. "Smells kind of... sparkly." Katherine nodded. "Magic," she said to Carlos, "you're smelling the magic." She glanced at Leila. "I don't see or smell anything bad, though, so..." |
Leila took that as permission and nodded, moving into the shop to take a look around.
"Be with you in a moment," Pritkin called from somewhere in the back. |
"Take your time," Katherine called back as she looked around a bit. Carlos stuck close to Leila, and poked around as she did.
Pritkin emerged from the back, blonde hair stuck in its usual gravity-defying spikes from him running his hands through his hair all day. He didn't even need hair gel.
"Need anything?" he asked, glancing between the three. Two vamps and a vamp's pet. Nothing new to him. |
