"She listed most of it," Tony said with a shrug. "She has access to the Internet, she'll control Elaine's implants, she has access to the cameras. Not quite as awesome as JARVIS, but I figured she doesn't need to be."
"Makes sense," Bruce agreed. "With enough firewalls to keep SHIELD out, I'm assuming?"
"Of course," Tony said with a snort. "There's no way I'm letting them anywhere near my coding." Because while he'd made Claudia for Elaine, Claudia was still his.
"I thought so," Bruce said. With that, he left Tony to his late dinner and went over to Kae. "So what do you think?"
Kae was grinning. "I'm glad he did that. I had no idea what he was up to, but I'm glad he did. Claudia will help Elaine a lot, I'm sure, and I know he hates sharing JARVIS." She grinned at him. "It's kind of sweet of him."
"Sweet and self-serving at the same time," Bruce agreed. "Typical Tony." He grinned just a bit.
"Yup." Kae grinned and leaned back in her chair. "I still want to know what other project it is that he's working on, though."
"I'm sure we'll find out soon," Bruce said.
In the meantime, Elaine was still settled in next to Steve, trying out tentative orders for Claudia. "What do you think?" she asked Steve softly. |
Steve smiled faintly. "Well, it won't be as bad as getting used to JARVIS," he said quietly. "It will still be odd for a bit. But it was nice of him."
"It's weird," Elaine admitted. "It's going to be strange, having my own AI."
Steve nodded. "I can imagine. At least you'll be able to ask her things whenever you want."
"This is true," Elaine agreed. She cuddled into his side.
Steve put an arm around her, pulling her close. He glanced around at the others before he got up.
"Come on. I want to show you something." He smiled a little, keeping one hand around Elaine's. |
"Where are we going?" Elaine asked as she got up with him.
"You'll see." Steve grinned briefly, taking her hand and leading her up onto the roof. He'd already set a few chairs out there, and he grinned briefly at her. On one side of them, the water was dark and calm. On the other, the city lights glittered, twinkling in the darkness.
Elaine gasped quietly when she saw.
"It's beautiful," she said. Leaning up, she kissed his cheek softly. |
Steve smiled a little. "I'm glad you like it," he said quietly. "I thought you might appreciate the view. It's a bit different than New York."
"It's not home," Elaine agreed, tucking herself against his side. "But it's still wonderful." She sighed softly and cuddled closer to him.
Steve smiled and pulled her closer, keeping her there. He was quite happy at the moment.
"Maybe I can get a sketch pad later," he mused quietly. |
"It won't be hard to get you one," Elaine said. "A sketch pad and a set of pencils?" She smiled a bit. "I know you're good at drawing. Much better than I could ever be, I'm sure."
"I've had a lot of time to practice," Steve said with a little smile. "It was one of the few things I could do growing up."
"Well, I'm glad you have a hobby," Elaine said, snuggling close. "Do you just sketch, or do you paint?"
"I haven't tried painting." Steve shrugged with one shoulder. "I sketch a lot, though. When I have time."
"What's your favorite thing to sketch?" Elaine asked. Hey, she was interested.
Steve shrugged a little. "It depends. Landscapes and cities are fun, but people are more challenging." He grinned down at her briefly.
