Bruce couldn't help but chuckle a bit.
"I wouldn't know," he teased, taking the matches and the candle. He lit the candle and then held it up for her. "There." |
"Thank you." Kae floated the candle back over to the fireplace and dropped it in, relaxing against him again. "There. Now eventually it will warm up and maybe I'll emerge. Maybe."
Bruce relaxed as well, holding her as they settled in.
"We still have another day before we have to head back," he pointed out. "More than enough time to lounge here for a while." |
"Good." Kae smiled and kissed him briefly, settling down. "So, no morning after regrets?"
"I could ask you the same thing," Bruce replied.
"I'm currently still sprawled all over you. What do you think?" Kae quirked her eyebrow at him. "And you didn't properly answer my question."
"Well, as far as I can see, you're not hurt," Bruce said. "And, in fact, seem pretty pleased." He shook his head a bit. "So no, I'd say no regrets."
"Good." Kae grinned and settled down there, snuggling against him. "You know we're going to have to endure teasing when we get back."
"From Tony, that's nothing new," Bruce replied, letting her cuddle. "And I'm sure Clint will stop if you take away that slingshot." He smirked a bit. "He's kind of attached to it now."
Kae snickered. "I like this plan. You are a devious, devious man." And clearly that deserved a kiss.
Bruce returned the kiss with a bit of a grin.
"I'm glad you approve," he said. |
Kae laughed quietly and settled there.
"So what do you want to do with our free day?" |
"Whatever you like," Bruce replied. "Doesn't matter to me as long as it's relaxing." Because where Bruce was concerned, 'relaxing' was always a very big requirement.
Kae chuckled and stayed there. "Well, we could always stay in bed all day. I'd say hot shower, but there's no power, so no hot water."
"As soon as the power comes back on, you can have your hot shower," Bruce promised. "I won't get in the way."
"Good to know I won't have to hover you back to the bed so I can get to the shower," Kae teased with a grin.
"You know, I should probably test that and see if I can actually hover people." |
Bruce gave her an odd look.
"You haven't tried?" he asked. "That would have been one of the first things I did if it was me." |
"Well, I did it when you all were little," Kae said with a shrug. "I haven't had much of a chance more recently, and I don't want to hurt anyone on accident."
"I know that feeling," Bruce muttered. He held her close. "I'm sure Tony wouldn't mind being your guinea pig."
"That, or he'd mind the most because he's used to controlling his own flight," Kae pointed out with a shrug. "But I can always ask when we get back. And if he's not up for it, maybe Clint will be."
Bruce snorted.
"Clint will get a kick out of it," he said. He'd had the chance to observe his teammates for a while, now, and was confident in that. |
Kae grinned briefly. "I know. And what about you?" She looked at him curiously. "It doesn't matter, I'm just curious."
"Me?" Bruce blinked, and then held up a hand, shaking his head. "I like my feet on the ground, I think. But thanks."
Kae just laughed quietly and shook her head, settling down again. "Well, I'll try on Clint first, and then we'll see where it goes. It would be fun to learn how to fly."
"Ask Jean," Bruce suggested, pulling her closer. "Maybe she knows what you should do."
