"I might sit in on part of it, we'll see," Steve said after a moment. "After I check on everything."
"Alright," Elaine said. She grinned a bit. "Ten dollars says that practice is interrupted by either Tony or Clint because they found the ultrasound and are demanding to know when us having a baby suddenly became us having twins."
Steve laughed quietly. "Probably not Clint," he reasoned. "But Tony would interrupt for that, definitely."
Elaine grinned.
"He would even brave magic practice to demand answers," she said. |
Steve just snickered and let go of her so she could get to practice.
"You should get going. And I should go make sure no one's getting into trouble." |
"Alright." Elaine grinned and kissed him. "I'll see you a bit later, then." With that, she went to find Loki so she could practice.
Loki was sitting in their normal room, relaxed, his eyes half-closed. He looked at Elaine as she entered before a smile flickered across his lips.
"Twins. You will be the first of us to have twins." |
Elaine smiled a bit and blushed just a little.
"Yeah," she said. She touched her stomach gently. "We're looking forward to it." |
"It will be an experience, certainly," Loki agreed with a little smile.
Elaine quirked a bit of a grin.
"I want to blame Thor for it, but it's just as much my fault and Steve's, as well," she said. |
Loki chuckled. "I'm sure his genetic altering didn't hurt your chances," he agreed.
"I'm sure," Elaine said. She sat down across from him. "I'm looking forward to seeing if they're boys or girls. I hope at least one is a girl."
"In another month or so, I should be able to tell you." Loki smiled faintly. "If you want to know."
"Maybe," Elaine said. "We'll see." She smiled a bit. "I got to hear their heartbeats earlier, it was amazing. There's a picture from the ultrasound on the fridge."
Loki nodded. "Having a child growing inside you is something no magic can replicate."
"And I have two of them," Elaine said, smiling a bit. She resettled in her seat a bit. "Anyways, that doesn't mean I can slack off magic practice, right?"
"No, it doesn't," Loki agreed. "Although your children will likely inherit your magical abilities if you continue to practice while they are growing."
"That might not be a bad thing," Elaine said. "Given who their father is, it would be good for them to have some way to take care of themselves, when they're older."
"I never said it was a bad thing. Just something to keep in mind so you won't be surprised." Loki shrugged, stretching out briefly before resettling.
"Alright," Elaine said. "Well, I don't plan to stop practicing just because I'm pregnant." She grinned a bit. "Just like someone else I know."
Loki cracked a grin. "Well, then, le's begin."
Elaine nodded and settled in for the lesson.
Steve didn't end up going up there, mostly because he had to chase down Clint after Clint pegged him with a Nerf arrow-paint ball, Clint cackling all the way.
Elaine didn't mind too much that Steve wasn't there. After practice, she went to go see what was going on in the tower. She grinned a bit when she heard Clint's cackling and almost hexed the ceiling tile under him, but didn't. Then she went to see if Tony was in the workshop.
Tony was indeed down in his workshop, muttering to himself as he worked. He was still trying to get the coding right to see magic. It was harder than any of the others he'd done so far.
