Kae got up the next morning and made herself attach the leg again, even though her bad leg was sore now, and she made her way downstairs to get breakfast and check in on the two gods.
She poked her head into the guest room first. "I see you survived the night." |
Thor groaned and mumbled something incoherent in Norse, holding his head in his hands. Oh yes, he was hungover.
Kae snickered a little and looked at Loki. "If you want, I bet you could take him to Tony's and have Tony keep track of him for a while."
Loki perked up a bit at that. He was quickly running out of patience for his brother being hungover. Sure, he'd seen Thor hungover before, but he'd never had to stick around for it. So he nodded and stood. Kae nodded and went to go get breakfast for herself and Elaine. |
Elaine shuffled her way down the stairs a little while later, holding on to the wall and making sure not to hit any loose boards or dips in the floor as she went. She paused as she passed the guest room.
"Well, I can smell ozone again," she commented. |
"He's hungover," Loki said dryly. "Your friend suggested we go to Tony's, but I do not know where that is."
"Don't ask me for directions," Elaine replied. "All I know is that I've heard there's a tower with 'Stark' written on it. That would be Tony's."
"Hm." Loki was quiet for a few moments before he shrugged. "Perhaps it would be easier to call him to the library." Since Loki knew where that was, at least.
And maybe by then, Thor would have gotten over most of his hangover. |
"Or we can call him here," Elaine mused. "That might work better."
Loki shrugged. "It matters not to me." He smirked faintly and switched on the light in the bedroom just to torment Thor a little.
Elaine heard the faint click of the light, and Thor's groan.
"Don't torment your brother," she admonished, almost automatically, as she reached over and flipped the switch again. |
Loki just snickered. Thor deserved it, really, and he wasn't about to start taking orders from a human.
Elaine sighed slightly. Right. God of mischief.
"Just remember that when he decides to thump you," she said. |
Loki shrugged, unperturbed. "Thor is always--how did you put it?--trying to "thump" someone."
"Yeah, but thumping you is justified," Elaine replied easily. "You're family."
Loki pursed his lips but didn't say anything else, just watching her for a few moments. Then he shrugged again.
"You should call Tony. The sooner I can drop my brother on him, the sooner I can get some rest." |
"I might make Kae call Tony," Elaine mused. "The vocal commands on my phone are a little messed up." She paused for a moment, and adopted a sort of puzzled expression. "Gods need rest?"
"Technically, we don't need it," Loki said carefully. "However, I have found that I enjoy sleeping. It is an enjoyable passtime."
"Good to know," Elaine said as she filed the information away. She grinned a bit. "That goes under the heading of 'things the textbooks don't mention.'"
"I'm sure there are lots of things your textbooks don't mention," Loki said, smirking.
"Oh I'm sure," Elaine replied, grinning just a bit. "I can hear that smirk, by the way. But yes, I look forward to learning more." Reaching up, she touched the doorframe. "Anyways, let me go see about contacting Tony." She paused for a moment, hesitating. Then she shook her head a bit. "Yeah, let me go do that."
"Do as you like." That was as close to asking as Loki would come, because he simply did not ask for things from humans. Ever. Because he was Loki.
Elaine hesitated one more time, debating whether or not to ask what she was going to, and then talked herself out of it and turned to go and get her phone. Or find Kae. Whichever she came across first.
Kae noticed her first and poured more coffee.
"So, what's happening with our guests?" she asked, pulling out creamer and things for Elaine to use. |
"Loki is desperate to get Thor off his hands," Elaine replied. "So he wants us to call Tony and have him come get them. Since obviously it's too much effort to find Stark Tower."
Kae snorted, already pulling out her phone. "Yeah, well, he's a god. Clearly he can't be bothered to do dirty work like that himself." She texted Tony quickly and had to wait only a little bit for a reply.
"He'll be here soon. And we need to demand babysitting fees from Fury for this." |
