"Text him," Elaine suggested, grinning. "Something to the effect of 'there was no fine print that dictated the babysitting of gods.'" She snickered.
Kae grinned and texted Fury as well. There was nothing in the fine print about babysitting drunk and hungover gods.
There was a moment when Fury felt like facepalming. Or strangling Tony. Because he knew exactly who was behind that. Fine, extra hazard pay for the night. Foist them off on Stark. Already done. Kae snickered. "We get extra hazard pay for last night." |
"He may as well put us on permanent payroll," Elaine pointed out. She was grinning, too. "It would be easier than constantly compensating us."
Kae laughed. "You get to suggest that to him next time," she said with a grin. "I got us more compensation, next time is your turn."
"You'll have to dial for me," Elaine said. "But I'll call next time."
"Will do." Kae glanced over at the door when she heard a car. "There's coffee in the pot, if you want some. I can pour for you if you'd like. And I think that's Tony here to pick up the gods."
"You pour the coffee, I'll get the door," Elaine said as she made her way to the front door. She could hear Tony sauntering up the walkway, and opened the door just as he hit the stoop.
"Really, you two can't handle one hungover god?" Tony teased with a grin. "I suppose I'll take him off your hands this once."
"It's your fault he's here in the first place," Elaine pointed out. "You could have easily put him up at the tower. No need to involve us in these shenanigans."
"Yes, but it was much easier to get him here," Tony pointed out. "Besides, this is Thor. You helped him, so he'll now feel he has to help you." He smirked at his own logic.
"I guess you're not wrong," Elaine muttered as she stepped aside for Tony to come in. "Anyways, just take them with you before Fury starts charging you for our hazard pay."
Tony snorted. "Not like it would make a dent," he muttered. "I'll go take them off your hands, though." He grinned and moved inside, touching her shoulder in passing so she'd know.
Elaine just grinned a bit and closed the door.
Thor, to his credit, was at least on his feet again, if looking a little worse for wear. But he was conscious and not drunk, so that was a plus. |
Tony snorted when he saw Thor. "Alright, you two. Time to go." He paused when he got a little closer to Thor. "You're taking a shower when we get back."
Thor just muttered something and followed Tony. He wanted a shower, and maybe to sleep a while more. He didn't need it, but oh how he wanted it.
"Alright, out to the car, both of you." Tony started to herd them back outside. "Thanks Kae! See you later!" He touched Elaine's shoulder in passing again. "Later Elaine."
"Let us know what you learn from him," Elaine said as he passed. "If he found anything out."
"I'll let you know," Tony agreed. "Once I can get him to talk." He shrugged. "We'll see you this afternoon, anyway."
"Right," Elaine said. "See you then."
Tony nodded and herded the other two outside in front of him before he left and shut the door.
"Well, that was interesting." Kae grinned. "See, we can totally do an Avengers sleepover." |
"While I have no problems inflicting that on Tony, you would do that to the others?" Elaine asked, although she was grinning.
Kae snickered. "It wouldn't be so bad. Steve might be slightly scandalized but he'd survive." She paused. "Although it might be a good idea to just have the three of them. I can't see the other two looking too kindly on a sleepover."
"Yeah probably not," Elaine agreed after a moment. She grinned. "Although you know it would force Tony to stock up on mead."
"It would. It totally would. He should stock up anyway but this would make him." Kae grinned, still highly amused by the thought.
"You get to arrange it, then," Elaine said, grinning. "And good luck with that."
