Ale got up and walked over to the cupboards on the other side of the room. "Urm, I don't have much, sorry, I need to go out shopping sometime." He opened the cupboard and looked inside, he had some bread, a bit of dried meat and a morsel of honey. "Urm, all I have is bread, meat and honey. Is that okay? Its all I've got at the moment." He got out what he needed and got some plates out. They were dented a bit but they weren't designed to be use by royalty, they had china, and good quality metal. He cut the bread into a coupe of slices for him and Aura and managed to spread the honey around on all four slices, he cut the mead up and laid it on top. It was barely a meal but it would have to do. He walked back to the fire and handed a plate to Aura. "Here you go, sorry it's not much." He apologised for around the third time. He felt a bit bad for not having enough food for the both of them. He heard Aura say that she didn't want the bed. "No I insist, please use it, I have spare blankets so I'll be happy here on the bench." He flashed a smile at Aura to hopefully pursade her to take his bed. He didn't want her to sleep on the bench, it was hard and uncomfortable, at least his bed was a bit softer. He took a bite into his food and sent crumbs all over the floor. "Oh brilliant now I'll have mice in here."
|
Aurora stood up after sitting her food on the table. "Here, sit next to me at the table. Then you won't get as much on the floor." She said, kneeling down and sweeping the crumbs up with her hand. She then stood up and went over to his wastebasket, tossing the crumbs in. "How about while I'm here I can cook and clean for you? It's the least I can do for letting me stay."She said, heading over to the table. "I would offer you money but alas I have none at the moment. So its the least I could offer." She said, sitting down and smiling at the plate he made for her. "Thank you. It's plenty for me." She said, taking a bite of the piece of bread with honey. "Mmmm. Thank you." She said, continuing to eat her food.
Once she was done she stood up and put the plate in the sink area. "I can wash these later if you would like me too." She said, turning and looking at him. "And if you insist on me sleeping in your bed then fine. But tomorrow I'll sleep on the bench." She said, looking over at the fireplace. "I insist. I won't be taking your bed two nights in a row. It's rude." She said, starting to twirl a strand of her hair with her index finger. |
Alec looked at her quizzically. "You'd be willing to cook and clean? Urm thank you I guess?" He took his plate and placed it on top of Aura's. He heard her mention about the bed and only having it for one night. "No I insist you take the bed while your here, I don't want you sleeping on that bench. If you slept on it I'd feel rude." He walked over to the other side of the room and opened anothe cupboard and pulled out a worn green blanket and placed it down on the bench. He checked on the clothes that were drying over the fire place and found out they were very much dry, he picked up Aura's dress and handed it to her. "Here you go." he and picked his clothes off of the rack and went to fold them they were very warm. Maybe he should place his clothes here when it's winter so that he's not compleatly cold. He placed his folded clothes and placed them in the cold stone floor. He went and sat on the bench moving the blanket out of the way. "Well Uhh.. Goodnight I guess?" He layed down on the bench and pulled the blanket over him. He waited until Aura had left before undressing compleatly dropping all items of his clothing on the floor. He turned onto his back facing the ceiling using his hands as a pillow he listend to the fire cracking away as his eyes fell heavy and eventually shut. He quickly fell asleep shortly after.

Aurora nodded. "Yes, I would." She said, knowing she was quite capable of it. In the castle she had been taught to clean up after herself and cook meals just in case one day her husband couldn't afford a cook. When he started to lay down to go to sleep she gave a small smile. "Goodnight, Thank you for the bed." She said, turning and heading into the bedroom. She quietly shut the door behind her and sat her dress on the bedside table. She laid down on the bed and curled up under the covers, instantly falling asleep.
In the middle of the night one of the Royal Guards was riding through town going to every house to ask if they had seen the Princess and he was finally to one of the last homes. He nudged his horse with his boot and brought it to a stop, hopping off the porch and tying the horse to a post. He headed over to the door and knocked gently. "Open up. It's Sir William." He boomed. "Were looking for the Princess, Have you seen her?!"He called in, knowing it was rather late.. but the Princess was needed. She was due to be married in a few weeks and without her the Kingdom would lose a great deal of money. |
Alec was in the middle of a nice dream. It was nothing extravagant, he was back in the wood out side the town but it was the middle of winter, the trees had lost their leaves and the ground was covered in a light dusting of snow and frost. He was in his usual spot that he was in yesterday, just sitting there watching the world go by, seeing the white fluffy clouds float by gracefully, he looked down and there was Aura, but it didn't look like Aura? She looked more like the princess, in her rich ice blue over coat that just brushed the ground, and her pure white dress that ended at her ankles. The more that he looked at her she looked like a mirror of Aura, he was a little surprised but he wasn't, this had to be one of the strangest dreams that he had, had for a long time. She leant toward's him and spoke. "Open Up. It's Sir William." He jolted slightly at the strange outcome.
His eye's shot open and he looked in the silence and the dark. Nothing. Alec gave a small sigh of relief, it really was just a strange dream. Then the voice boomed again outside causing Alec to jump and fall off the bench at the same time, hitting the cold stone floor with a thud. "Oooh" There was banging at the door, telling Alec that whoever it was at the door he wasn't going to leave any time soon. Alec jumped up running around the room stark naked in a flurry to find something to make himself decent. He grabbed his underwear off the floor and hopped around putting them on. The banging continued outside. "Yes, just a second!" He said in a general direction to the door. He found his trousers and just pulled them on loosely before bolting to the door. He nearly fell into it face first, but his arms reached the door and he swung it open rapidly revealing one of the Royal Guard's at the door. Alec's mouth nearly hit the floor, he'd had a few run ins with this particular member in the past, but he didn't remember doing anything to cause them to come to his house in the middle of the night. "Uhh, can I help you." |
William smirked at the mans attire. "I'm sorry if I woke you sir, but there's more important things at hand." He said, pulling a rolled up piece of paper out of a loop on his belt. He rolled it open and showed the man a drawn picture of the Princess. "Princess Aurora is missing. Have you seen her?" He asked, his eyes staring menacingly into his. "Lying is a sin, Boy. If you've seen her than telling me would be the best option." He said gruffly, looking around the mans home from where he stood outside the door. He turned around as his horse started acting up. "Eryk, behave." He growled, then turned back to the man. "It is said that she must've ran away during the festival. But we've checked the woods and she's nowhere to be found. Our only hope is that she was taken from the forest by one of the peasants so we can find her within the night."
|
Alec looked at the picture, he already knew what the princess looked like but, he looked at it anyway. All of a sudden he felt like he'd been kicked in the teeth. Everything clicked together, she appeared in the woods, she escapes the royal guard, she got frightened at the bells, she wanted to avoid the high-street though town, she said she had to sell her jewellery to get money, she was leaving town. He was harbouring the princess. Beads of sweat started to form on his forehead, he felt a bit dizzy. "What am I going to do? She's here in my house, in my bed! God knows what will happen to me if a say she's here, and if I lie? Worse? Oh shit..." His hand's started to shake, he was genuinely scared he had no idea what to do. All he ended up doing was collapsing at the man's feet.
|
William easily took the man back inside and laid him on a bench by the fireplace. "I guess he knows nothing." He breathed, shutting the door to the mans house behind him as he left. He guessed that the man was frightened of guards from their appearances. All the guards were very strong men and very tall, so of course they would be scared.
((Sorry it took me awhile to post ): )) |
((Sorry its taken about 300 years to reply :0 ))
Alec woke with the sun streaming through the window, the birds were tweeting outside singing their usual morning song. The fire had been out a long time leaving the room cold. He achingly got up and sat on the bench. He must have hit head during the night as he could feel an egg sized lump on the back of his head. "Ugh what happend last night?" He remembered seeing the royal guard last night at his door. Then he remembered William. If there was a person he hated more it would be him. He could easily take him. William may have been taller but Alec had his strength on his side. He must have passed out. But how did he end up here? He must have been carried by William. The thought give him shivers, but he got even more shivers knowing that he could have himself landed in jail. All because of the young woman that was sleeping in his bed. What was he going to do? He couldn't turn her in. But if he helped her he would face serious trouble. He decided to keep a level head and wait until she woke up. He could talk to her about it then. The was a noise of someone cutting wood outside and Alec nearly jumped out of his skin. He could tell it was going to be a long wait. |
((Oh it's fine (: ))
Aurora slowly awoke to the sound of someone chopping wood outside. With a yawn the young blonde sat up, stretching her long, slender arms and then slipping out of bed. She stood up and looked in the mirror, inspecting her appearance as she fixed her hair. Once her hair was fixed and she looked presentable, she headed out of his room and smiled when she was him sitting on the bench. "Morning." She said, shivering as her feet touched the cold floor. "Do you run fires during the day or does it warm up later on?" She questioned, standing on her tip toes so that she didn't have to experience the cold on her feet. "So what do you want for breakfast? Since you've been so kind as to offer me a place to stay." She said, heading over to his cabinets and looked inside to see what she could make. |
Alec watched Aura now Aurora enter the room, he wasn't happy with her, but he just masked himself with a smile until he thought there would be a good opportunity to talk to her. "No, It does warm up later on when the sun hit's the floor, I'm normally in and out of hear so I get a fire going in the afternoon so it's warm in here in the evening." He semi glared at Aurora as she had tricked him in to thinking she was a poor peasant girl with no one to look after her when in fact she was the opposite. She was a wealthy royal, with anyone to serve her at her any will and whim. He was kicking himself for fooling himself into actually helping her this far. "There is probably very little in there, I need to go to the market and get some more things." He said quietly. He thought he would give her a little task. "How about I give you some money and you can choose what we have for breakfast. Hmm?"
((Sorry again! I would have replied earlier but touch screen devices are a pain.)) |
Aurora bit her lip as he asked her to go outside. "Oh, Okay.. Um, could I possibly borrow a cloak or something? It's pretty cold out." She said, looking over at him. "Or I could just use whatever you have here. It doesn't matter." She said, heading over to the door and peering out the small window in the center. "Ah, Well I can gather firewood for you sometime if you'd like." She said, giving a slight nod in his direction. "I owe you a lot." She said, sighing. "I hope you don't think I'm a burden. I promise I'll do whatever house work or errands you ask of." She said, turning back and looking at him.
|
Alec walked over to a cupboard in the room "No it's fine, you can borrow this." He picked out an old ragged coat that had a bit of dust on it. He hadn't worn it for years so it looked as though it was about to fall to pieces. "What we ate last night was what I had left, so shopping would have been needed anyway." He walked over to the fire place to remove the old burnt remains of the wood that was there the night before. "No, no you're not a burden." He lied. "Your being helpful, you can get the shopping and I can make a start in the workshop so I can get more done today then if you weren't here." All that he had said was a lie. He had no work to do, he hadn't had a contract for anything in weeks. He just moped about the village looking for something to do with his time.
|
Aurora took the cloak and draped it over herself, then flipped the hood up. "Thank you." She said, sensing that something wasn't right. "Did someone come by the house last night?" She asked, raising her right eyebrow at him. "Concerning the princess?" She asked, her eyes sad. She had been awoken when the soldier had come. But she had been hoping he wouldn't care. It seemed that he did. Defeated, the woman spoke. "I- I was going to tell you eventually.." She said, biting her lip until it bled from how nervous she was. "Please don't turn me in! I swear, I'll leave right now and I won't be in your hair anymore. Just please don't send me back!" She cried, tears rolling down her porcelain like face.
|
Alec now felt guilty that he had brought the girl to tears. He shuffled about awkwardly for a few moments seeing the tears flow down her face. He walked over and pulled the girl into a hug, it was all he could think to do just to make sure she wouldn't make any more noise. "I wasn't going to send you back. My ass would be in as much trouble as yours. Listen you stay here. I'll go out and get some things and we can talk about this whole issue, okay?" He knew he was taking such a serious matter with a pinch of salt, and he knew that if anyone was to find out that the princess was here, he could kiss the sun good bye. He picked up his shirt off of the floor and put it on. He grabbed a small cloth sack and headed to the door. "I won't be too long. I'll be back as soon as I can." He opened the door and stepped out into the morning sunshine.
|
Aurora hugged him back, still crying. "I'm sorry Alec." She said through sobs, She didn't want to stop hugging him, but when he released her she nodded. "O-Okay.." She said, backing up and sitting at the kitchen table. When he left she breathed heavily to calm herself down. What if he turned her in!? She couldn't go back. They would make her marry that horrible prince that lived far away from here. And she wasn't ready for that. She had just became a young adult herself, she couldn't get married and bring children into this world for someone she would be forced to marry.
