He pushed a few buttons and looked around,"We go that way." Alexander said as he pointed down one of the tunnels they usually used. "Oh and what is special about it is the fact they can be used as a source of fuel judging by the way they have this device hooked up. Such as powering up your friend's sky bike or maybe making a weapon stronger." Alexander explained.
"I can think of a lot of uses for something like that." Alexis said, mind already going full speed on what she could use it for. "I'm use to these caves so I'll take the lead, you just tell me where to go. She said as she grabbed a lantern out of the Sky Knights supplies, lit it and headed off in the direction that Alexander had pointed.
Alexander pointed the way through a few tunnels, always taking what seemed the best route to get to where they were going. After they had taken a few routes a low echo could be heard, throughout the tunnels, of guards barking orders. After a few more tunnels Alexander pointed for Alexis to enter a room she would know well, the Sky Knights hideout. "We are very close now, should just be a little distance that way."
As she stepped into the room and looked around she rolled her eyes "I think it's broken Alex. She said with a shake of her head "Look where we are, I can positively say there is no mystery crystal in here and there is no path out that leads to one. She turned to look at her brother "It sounds like the guards are getting close too. We can't stay here very long."
Alexander looked around and then back to the device and zoomed in some, "but it says it is practically in this room. The readings are massive. I can see the small reading for the device and a massive one emanating into this room." Alexander explained. Alexander started to walked around the room working his way to one of the back walls. "I just want to take a moment to look around... just in case... I just have this odd feeling it is here." Alexander tried to explain.
"Well your wasting your time but go ahead." Alexis said taking the time to gather a few bits and pieces that were stored here that she thought would be useful "The Sky Knights and I have been all over this room more nearly every other day, there isn't anything here to find.
Alexander ignored his sister for the moment till he found the wall closest to the crystal's supposed location. "Right here!" he exclaimed as he looked up at the wall and frowned a little. Alexander looked the wall over briefly, confused, the crystal should be straight from that location. There was also a strong path of energy flowing directly from the crystal to where he was standing like it was a corridor. "but... it should be right here..."
"But it's not. Alexis said with an irritated sight as walked over to join her brother in staring at a blank wall "Seriously we can't stay here, if there's no crystal we need to leave before we're found.
"You're right sis." Alexander put the device away and looked at the wall. "Stupid caves and annoying De... wahhh!" Alexander said as he punched the wall and instead fell right through it, vanishing from Alexis' sight.
"Alex!" Alexis shouted and put her hand to the wall. Upon finding that her hand went through it easily she stepped through it gingerly and looked around spotting Alex still laying on the floor, then down the hall way to where the crystal sat at the end. "How in the hell did we miss this?" She asked looking confused "You would think one of us would have stumbled into this before now.
Alexander stood up and brushed himself off briefly, "Are you ok? Why yes, I am, thank you for asking." Alexander said sarcastically. He looked ahead at the crystal and grinned, "One, I told you so. Two, do you and your friends normally walk into or punch walls?" Alexander said as he jogged over to the crystal.
"Are you an ass? Why yes of course, thank you for asking?" Alexis returned his sarcasm "Not normally no, but some of the people in the group are pretty clumsy I would have figured one of them would have fallen into the wall by now or something." She said with a shake of her head at the thought.
Alexander laughed, "At least we both agree you are an ass." Alexander commented as he walked around the massive chunk of crystal. "Wow I can feel the energy coming off of this. This is amazing." Alexander said happily. The echoing footsteps of the guards were getting louder, they were nearing the main room of the hideout.
Curious Alexis hesitantly joined Alexander near the crystal. Her mouth fell open as she got close enough to feel the energy radiating from it. I've never felt anything like this..." She said her eyes wide with wonder as she held her hand closer to feel it.
Alexander wandered around it a bit more, "Just being this close I can see why they would want to get their hands on it." He commented before stopping and staring at something.
Alexis could hear the guards entering the main room now spreading out to search it. Various comments about the rebels being shouted about to each other. "huh, what is this little mark on the crystal?" Alexander asked curiously as he reached out and touched a small sigil. The crystal suddenly glowed bright and a blast of energy burst out from it, sending Alexander flying backwards into the wall. |
Alexis wasn't even listing to her brother going on about the crystal. She was more interested in the fact that a bunch of idiot guards were now rummaging around in her base ruining all of her hard work and compromising her carefully laid plans.
The blast of energy unleashed by Alexander caught her completely off guard and it sent her into the opposite wall from him, her head connecting with the rough stone hard and leaving her to fall to the ground dazed. |
From the sounds of things the guards were hit by the blast as well, though not as hard. "Hey there they are there!" One of the guards shouted to the other as he stood up and pointed at the siblings who were now in plain view.
Alexander immediately got to his feet and got between them and his sister, he has watched out for her for years and was not about to stop now. He put up his left arm defensively and noticed he had a weird armlet made of crystal on him. "What in the world is this?" Alexander asked curiously as a couple guards went to rush him. Suddenly it flashed bright and he was wearing a silver suit of armor and was wielding a shield and long sword. With quick movements and ease he bashed one out cold with the shield and the other with the hilt of his sword. "What the? Where did this all come from and why did I know to do that?" Alexander glanced at Alexis, "Sis! get up now!" he shouted at her. |
Alexis didn't so much as twitch at his shout seemingly out cold at the moment, leaving Alexander to deal with the guards in front of him... or so it seemed.
As the guards seemed to be ready to charge at him again several of them staggered suddenly and dropped to the floor. Before the rest could figure out what was going on the rest of the group joined them. Once all the guards were down a young woman who looked to be around the twins age, maybe a little older, revealed herself. She stood on the far side of the room and gestured to Alex "Come quickly, the sleep spell will not last long and we must leave here before they awaken." |
Alexander looked at the girl, stunned for a minute by her beauty. When he was done staring, he sheathed his sword and picked his sister up into his arms. The shield had vanished as he went to do this, but he had no time to question it, it did just make things easier. Alexander ran to lady in pink, "Who are you?" Alexander asked curiously.
Alexis moaned a little as Alexander picked her up, but that was the only response he got from here.
As Alex approached the woman she turned and lead him down the hall as she spoke "You may call me Isabella, or Bella if you care to. When I saw that the guards had cornered you, I though you could use some assistance." She said turning her head and smiling at him "I am glad I arrived when I did." She added. |
Alexander couldn't help but feel like he should know who this girl was, but he was too distracted following her to think of where. Alexander blushed a little as she smiled at him, "I am too Isabella." he agreed. After taking a minute to compose himself he added to his side of the conversation "Me and my sister are grateful. I am just a little surprised to see a lady such as yourself in these tunnels... what are you doing down here?" Alexander asked curiously.
"I was... searching for something. Isabella hesitated slightly, still unsure how much she could trust the two. They were obviously crystal bearers but to be honest that only said so much.
The conversation was cut short as sounds of the guards waking up and looking for them reached down the hall "We must hurry!" Isabella said urgently as she quickened her step. |
Alexander condemned the fact that the armor was slowing him down. Alexander's eyes went wide as the armor vanished when he wanted it gone. Interesting he thought, maybe I can get it back later whenever I want. Alexander looked at Isabella, "What are you searching for down here? Helping you find it is the least I can do after you helped us. Oh, I forgot to mention. I am Alexander and this is my sister Alexis."
"It is a pleasure to meet you both. She said absently as she looked around quickly then chose another tunnel to follow "I wish it could have been under better circumstances. I am searching for an elemental guardian that is said to be somewhere within these caves." She said deciding that telling him that much couldn't hurt, after all the crystal warriors were suppose to have a connection to the elemental guardians as well.
"Me too." He agreed. Alexander pondered what Isabella had said as he followed her, "These guardians must be hidden like the crystal was then. My sister and her friends had spent a few years hanging out in the room with the crystal and never knew it was there till I found it tonight." Alexander explained to Isabella.
