Kiyan grunted but swiftly turned on her heal to smack his hand with her sword hoping to actually land a blow to him. She quickly jumped back wondering if he would ever actually come at her or if he would just keep playing the waiting game. She would never admit to being weak, but she might admit to not being near as strong as he was.

Adaza just kept his smirk as he rubbed his knuckles, it slightly hurt but he didn't show many signs of the pain. "Sloppy but somewhat effective." He skillfully spun his wooden sword in his hand. "You're thinking to hard on your attacks." He simply told her. "It will slow you down." Without warning he charged at her, slamming his wooden sword into hers with such force it shattered her's into two splintery pieces. With the same speed and force he twisted his sword towards the right connecting it into her ribs. He pulled back slightly but only to follow his attack with his knee connecting onto the same spot. He jumped back a few feet not wanting to hurt her more than he had. Adaza once more skillfully spun his sword in his hands. "Admit defeat and your weakness." He simply told her. That was the first step into improving your skills with his training.

Kiyan was actually surprised he came at her moving her sword to block but it just got cut in half. She then coughed at the pain and this time actually fell as she tried to catch her breath and held her ribs where he kept hitting the spot actually hurting more then she had thought. She then frowned as she heard him huffing a bit before finally speaking. "Fine you win but I'm not weak, I'm just no match for you." she said once she caught her breath before moving to stand again taking her hand off her side.

Adaza just shook his head listening to her. "Everyone is weak, even I am." He looked at Kiyan plainly. "Admitting you're weak is not a sign of it but a step towards a victory to pride." He just dropped his wooden sword and crossed his arms over his chest. "Pride is the ultimate death wish to a warrior. It clouds your mind and leads you to mistakes on the battlefield." His face was stern as he talked to her, though he slightly doubted she would even listen to his words. "Remove it from yourself, admit you're weak. There is always someone out there better, you as a warrior need to know this." He spoke with a passion he rarely used in training people, for some odd reason; he was actually putting his heart into training.

Kiyan quietly listened to him and was actually rather surprised at his words... at least he said she was a warrior instead of a wannabe. "gr.... fine... yes I'm weak I've realized that since I lost to you." she huffed crossing her arms seeming to not like admitting to it but she knew he was right, she had just forgotten that for awhile.

Adaza just stared at her. "Attitude screams otherwise." He said mockingly to her. "Anger is another thing to rid yourself of. Like pride it causes you to make mistakes, sometimes fatal." He adjusted his stance slightly. "However if you notice, you still have some of my energy. That energy anger and hatred is what triggers it." He started to think about it. "Perhaps I can train you in that. It might make you into a decent warrior." He said still in a mocking tone. He enjoyed watching her get angry for some odd reason.

Kiyan paused as she remembered the energy he gave her and frowned thinking about the day before. "That energy that you ggave to me... it's messing with my fox form... I don't normally shift when I'm angry, in fact i normally can't shift unless I'm calm but I did yesterday." she said but was honestly kinda glad that she was able to shift... she was able to help Adaza and they were allowed out so it wasn't nesesarily a bad thing. "How could you train me with it? Darkness is not a natural power to my kind, would I even be able to use it?" she asked curiously ignoring his remark this time

Adaza just nodded at her words, "But it is mine." He simply told her. "A dark elf's energy is very special. When we give it, its not lightly." He was sure he would hear her yell at him but he would tell her anyways. He wasn't sure why he was starting to care but he just pushed it aside and acted like nothing. "Our energy binds us to that person till death, it is why we don't give it out lightly. Not only does it binds us but it transfers our powers; both weakness and strengths." He told her plainly. He didn't have to really tell her how he would train her, seemed kind of obvious after the told her the explanation of his races energy.

"That's right... I was meaning to ask why you gave me some of your energy? i mean I get that you're grateful that I was able to bring back Lynia but that still doesn't quite explain it." Kiyan asked smirking a little as she did so. "But that still doesn't quite answer my question. While I do have some sense of elemental powers in my fox form using it in my human form is hard and this new power seems more unpredictable then my others." she said but wasn't really even sure how to explain her natural powers since they weren't rreally something she was used to using.

Adaza just continued to look at her unfazed by her question, however he just ignored her first one. "You really are thick headed, perhaps I have get you a tutor." He said mocking her once more. "The energy given to you is and will always be in conflict with your race's, if you have trouble controlling your own then the darkness given to you will always be unpredictable." It was like talking to a child. "Perhaps you should learn how to be a fox before even attempting to be a warrior." He told her bluntly and very rudely. "Learning to control your power will make you allot stronger. Yet if you decide to charge into battle foolishly like you seem to have the habit of then maybe this training is not worth the time spend." He found it annoying that she classed herself a warrior if she had this much trouble with her own gifts. "This is why you are weak, the simplest trivial you can not do. Whoever trained you obviously was just as weak if he couldn't even see this basic of problems." He told Kiyan before walking away. "My time is better spent elsewhere." |
"Hey! Do you even understand how difficult it is having two forms to maintain?! Every power a fox gets they have to learn how to use in each form, and some powers are to the specific form, such as my elemental powers are normally only usable in my fox form while my healing powers are best used in human form. It takes a very long time to master elemental powers, that's why many in my clan don't use them at all, they're unpredictable and hard to use." Kiyan said before untying her dress and brushed it off feeling rather irritated, how could he expect someone who wasn't part of his kind to understand his powers so easily?

Adaza just stopped at her words. "Difficult having two forms?" He simply repeated, before turning to face her. He was slightly angry at her, for multiforms was something he was use to well. "In case you forgotten, I been changed into a human. I have lost nearly all my races abilities. I had forms you dare to even dream of." As he spoke, his anger clearly rising. The air softly filled with a static and whispers from bodiless voices. "Every form is limited to certain abilities. You claim to have trained most your childhood and this it your results." He said motioning to her. The more his anger grew so did the whispers and static. Shadows began to slowly draw towards him as he glared darkly at her. "Excuses thats all they are." He said turning before leaving the room, clearly his angry lingered in the room but slowly faded into the unknown where they came from. He didn't know why but he was greatly annoyed with her.

Kiyan was surprised at the changes but just frowned and lefter to her room to clean up before heading to the library to see if her brother was still there and to see what he was up to.

Adaza slammed the door to his room, he wasn't sure why he was so angry with Kiyan. He completely lost it, he didn't even notice the unbodied voices or shadows at the time until he rested against his door. He sighed in defeat, something he rarely did. 'What is wrong with me?' He questioned himself, angry was something you could afford to lose, yet he just did.
Kayo was smiling at the blood sample he was looking at through the microscope, for some odd reason it suddenly changed then returned to normal. He scribbled fast onto a piece of paper. He finally was beginning to understand very little of Adaza's unexplained powers. He heard rumors of a sub race within the races but he never found one, maybe he finally found one. He pushed himself away from the table and grabbed the book Adaza had given him before he stole his sister away for some odd reason. He read quietly to himself before overlooking his notes. "Adaza you get more interesting with every test." He spoke softly to himself. He was to busy to realize the time that had passed cause his stomach to growl in hunger. "Ah, always in the middle of the most important and interesting studies!" He yelped to his stomach. |
"Kayo you're way too into your work, can't even notice your cute little sister entering the room?" Kiyan teased as she made her way to her brother's side looking over his shoulder debating if she should ask him her questions or not. "I think I need your help." she frowned a little

Kayo just smirked playfully at his little sister, he would have replied to her 'cute' sister comment but decided not to once she asked for his help. "Why? What's up?" He asked curiously. He had a feeling what it was about but then again he might be wrong after all his sister. Kiyan was always throwing him off. He patted his notes against the tabled to neaten them and placed them into the book as a bookmark. He grabbed the sandwich a maid had made him earlier, it was cold but he was too hungry to care, plus he wanted to hear what his sister was going to say.

"You've lived in this kingdom for some time now right... and you know a bit about Adaza i'm sure... why would he give me some of his energy? And why would he care so much about my skills and my powers when I'm pretty sure he hated the fact that I was a female warrior? He got pretty mad at me when I mentioned that it was hard learning how to use elemental powers." she asked curiously hoping her brother would know

Kayo just listen to his sister while chewing on the sandwich, he was curious on how Adaza was handling this. He couldn't picture him getting mad, so it seemed funny in a way. He swallowed then chuckled at his sister. "It's simple. He likes you." He told her taking another bite of his sandwich, chewing and swallowing it. "Adaza only gave his energy to one person before you, his late wife." He wiped off the bread crumbs before continuing. "He classed himself a large failure when his wife died. Yes granted he dislikes women fighting but that only because he is always ordered to... well you know." He said bluntly knowing she knew all too well what he meant. "I'm guessing he doesn't want the same fate for his late wife happening to you and that's why he gotten angry with you. Seeing how he has changed towards you a bit after the importent and shaming. It just proves the point slightly more..." He shrugged playfully after trailing off for a bit. "But I could be wrong, he confuses me." He had to admit the last part. He never did understand his friend, he didn't think anyone did.

"Likes me?!" Kiyan scoffed at that but then thought some "That still doesn't quite explain why he would try and train me and then get mad at me... eh... maybe it's my own fault... I feel I've grown weak since my fight with Adaza" Kiyan frowned before walking back around the table towards the door then paused. "Oh yeah, when am I going to get to meet your wife and kid?" she smirked back at her brother easily

Kayo just shrug at his sister. "Just a theory, you want the real answer ask him yourself but good luck getting an answer." He opened the book once more getting ready to return to his studies as she walked around the table. "My wife and child are with her family. Not sure when you can meet them but I hope it will be soon." He took out the papers and smiled. "Oh, Kiyan. Remember how I always read about subclasses when we were younger?" He said smiling to his sister, never really giving her time to reply. "I think I found one. It explains nearly everything about Adaza. The shadow manipulation, the powers after being shamed. His strength in general. It's all pointing to a subclass. If I'm right it means they didn't go extinct thousands of years ago." He said excitedly. He was like a child in a candy store unsupervised.

Kiyan stopped shocked at what she heard and turned staring at her brother in shock. "How is that possible? If he's one that means that others of his family should have the same abilities right?" she said then trailed off and frowned. "Like the king... I don't know if it's to the extent that Adaza can but the king was able to turn his hand into shadows like Adaza... of course I don't know a whole lot about their race... for all I know that could be a normal technique" she shrugged slightly

Kayo's smile never left his boyish face. "That technique is only in the royal line and even then they can only use it for a short period of time. It takes far too much energy so they only can do a small amount of their body at a time." He was basically bouncing as he talked to his sister. "I believe his father was the subclass. It would explain why they wanted him dead so much after his father's death. They knew..." He simple stated before grabbing a piece of paper from his notes and set it on the table for her to see. "It means that if I'm correct, Adaza has generations on his father's side who warp their genes with every descendant." He then showed her the page on the book Adaza had given his, granted it was in Adaza's language. "This right here is saying that a subclass can't be shamed, their body changes the shard and eats the magic inside, if I'm right. Sehpeal just unknowingly made Adaza stronger." He chuckled at that part, he found it quite amusing. "Granted he'll permanently look as a human." He said the last part quietly. "I still need to prove all of this. I just can't believe I never even noticed this before now." He said slightly embarrassed.

"wow... that's... amazing! But that would raise more questions, if there is a subclass for Adaza's kind that should mean that there are subclasses in other races too right?" Kiyan asked curiously wondering what a sub class of ketsune would be like exactly.

He smiled even wider. "Exactly! Kiyan, if I can prove that subclasses are not just legends by Adaza alone. I can hopefully find others in different races." Kayo shifted through his papers, there was so much to do and so little time. First thing first though, he needed a way to prove his theory about Adaza. "Adaza's blood just went crazy a few minutes ago. If I could get it to do it again, I can try and figure out how to prove this theory." He told his sister as he handed her the note. "His blood cells just suddenly warped into these dark plum colored crystals, there was this.... crackling sound and hissing but there was no one else here with me." He said looking at her puzzled. "I can't explain it and I wish I could show it to you but..." He said at a lost to his sister.

"Hissing? Might it have been whispering instead of hissing? That's why I was saying he got mad at me. When i said it was hard having two forms he got really mad and it seemed like darkness started to creep into the hallway and there was this creepy whispering even when he left it stayed for almost a minute." Kiyan explained "you know I've always wondered what a subclass of ketsune would be like, I mean many of our clan could already use some elemental powers" she pointed out wondering again what it would be like
