Adaza just handed his nicely stacked dishes to the one servant girl and thanked her, he then looked at the two other the other end of the table. "You do not need my say to help her, however when company is here you are not allowed to. Looks bad on you and will cause trouble." He simply her as she stood up, he thanked the servant girl before leaving the dinning room to go check on his daughter afterwards he had a list to make for Kiyan on his daughter's activities. Granted for the most part she was with her tutor, himself or her grandmother.

Kiyan looked back at Adaza then nodded a bit with an emotionless expression on her face before getting up and helping the servants clean up chatting with them every now and again. She didn't mind helping, actually she really liked to help everyone... but she still didn't like Adaza... she just couldn't find it in her to like him yet.

Adaza had just placed his daughter to bed, she was having a high temperature. He sung to her her mother's favorite song as he did every night. "Your smiles overcomes the shadows and shines on for eternity." Was the last line he sang to his sleeping daughter. Lynia was sleeping peacefully through her fever, she was hugging her favorite doll within her hands as she dreamt for the night. Adaza softly closed the door behind him as she left, his daughter would offend get sick but the doctors never found a reason why. It offend made him worry about her but he always kept a eye on her and had someone with her at all times. His most loyal servants would offend check up on her at night while he work, otherwise he would check up on her every chance he got. He has leaned against the door in thought, she was throwing another one of her relapses of a 'cold.' |

Kiyan sighed contently as she walked up the stairs after helping the maids and was heading to her room when she saw Adaza outside a door and wondered what was wrong and if Lynia was okay. "How is Lynia? Is she okay?" she asked softly as she walked up to the male since she needed to go that way to her room anyway. She may not have liked him but his daughter was a sweet little girl and she loved children so she was worried about her. |
Adaza closed his eyes when he was snapped out of thought hearing Kiyan's voice, he opened his eyes and looked at her trying to hold back his emotions. He never did like showing his emotions, specially fear. "She is okay, just running one of her fevers." He simply told her before he got off the door and headed to walk away, he didn't want to tell her Lynia's condition, he didn't trust her enough to. "She will be in her room til she is better. I would suggest you leave her alone for a while." He told her before leaving to go to his office, he had a list to make and to get the doctor for it was still early in the evening.

"One of her fevers? What could he possibly mean by that?" Kiyan asked herself quietly before sighing and heading outside having nothing to do really so she thought she would take this time to walk around and relax in her fox form which she turned into right as she walked outside.
(okay so I had an idea that Kiyan ends up getting sick because of her new suroundings and when Adaza calls for a healer she finds out that her brother actually hadn't been killed and was now just working as a healer in that area for and Darkous clan members that get sick. What do you think?) |
Adaza slowly made it to his office, he had asked one of the guards to go get the doctor. His window was open and over looked the garden and let the cool breeze chill his dark skin. He buried his face within his hands as he tried not to cry over his daughter, he knew something was seriously wrong this time. He was sitting at his desk with his elbows were on the desk, he was scared for his daughter and he prayed that she would be alright. Lynia was all he had left of his former wife and he loved her more then the world it's self. He would give his life for hers, "Great Gods please protect my daughter, don't her from me. she is all i have, I will give up everything if you make her well..." He said, his voice crackling with word from fighting not to cry.

Kiyan looked up at the mansion to see that Adaza was sitting in one of the rooms looking distressed and decided to go back in and ask around about what was wrong with Lynia though no one would really say since Adaza hadn't told her already. She huffed a bit then straightened herself out and walked over to Adaza's study and knocked on the door softly with a kind look on her face and really was worried about the little girl and that was clear.

Adaza cleared his face when he heard the knock, he grabbed out a quill and some ink to began his task. He had paper on his desk already, he looked up to see Kiyan inside of his office after the door cracked open. "If it is about my daughter, I already told you." He plainly told her, he knew it came off rude but he wasn't going to share it with her. He didn't trust her enough to tell her about Lynia's weak form and why he pampered her so much. His face was redish in tint from fighting back the tears but he annoyed the fact it was obvious he was lying to her, it wasn't like she could do anything about it.

"Adaza... if you tell me what's wrong I might be able to help... my people had some of the best healing powers that are known... I'm a healer I can probably help her if you let me." Kiyan said softly and you could tell all she wanted was to help... if he would only let her.

Adaza just looked up at her, "My family's doctor is of your race, his healing has done nothing for her. A trained professional can't help her, I doubt you could. Besides, you could do more harm then good after all you're getting attached to her." He could see her concerned in her face as she could probably see his emotions in his face. He rested his head into his left hand, it was over his forehead, it was in a form of defeat with his elbow rested on his desk. "I sent for her doctor, he will be here to check on her and to give her some medicine. I want you to leave him alone and let him do his job. Is that clear?" He asked her, he never looked at her, his was too defeated at the moment.

"One of my clan? I will leave him be... but I would like to meet him... I didn't know any others of my kind were here." Kiyan said softly and honestly was surprised... the way he had locked her and the others up she would have thought he did the same to all of her kind and ended up killing them all.

Adaza just looked at his papers on his desk, he was scared for his daughter and he was fighting not to break down; weakness was something he was never allowed. He nodded without looking at her, "Yes, he is a good man. A great friend on mine. Believe it or not, but I have many people of all races counting on me to protect them. I'm not the heartless monster you saw in the battle field." He told her in protest, he didn't know why he was trying to defend himself to her but he did. He took in a deep breath before continuing to speak to her, "You can meet him but I urge you to wait til after he is done with his work, he normally joins us for a meal after his work is done." He was speaking to her but he never removed his eyes off the paper on his desk, his heart felt like it was breaking. Lynia's illness was different this time and he could feel a bad omen creeping it's way to his castle.

"But.... then why did you try to send a plague after my people?... I... I don't understand that... I can see now that you are a caring person... but why try to annihilate my people like that?" Kiyan asked in a weak voice then saw the look and paused for a second before walking over to him and placing her slightly shaking hand on his shoulder. She felt her heart pounding slightly and she wasn't sure if it was in fear of him or pain of remembering what happened... or if it was the worry of Lynia dying... not only was she worried what would become of her if Lynia died but she was also scared and sad for the girl... she didn't want her to die.

He took another deep breath as he continued to stare at the papers, he could hear her and the emotions dripping from her voice. "Orders." He simply told her, "I'm highly ranked pawned in the King's game." He said shortly afterwards, he could hear her walk towards him. He stiffened under her touch, he didn't know if he should touch her hand with his or to jerk away, so he just sat there. A knock filled the air, he looked at one of his servants who just told him the doctor was there and was in Lynia's room, he looked at Kiyan before turning and leaving. He simply brushed her hand off his shoulder before he stood up and went to leave the room to see to his daughter and the doctor.

Kiyan felt horrible when she heard Adaza... was it really just orders that he was fallowing? Had the king really commanded that they try and kill all of the Darkous clan? Why? The Darkous clan wasn't near as large of a threat to them it seemed. She soon walked out of the room after Adaza had left and went outside for awhile sitting under the same chary Blossom tree she had before and pulled her knees to her chest just sitting there thinking. After awhile she walked back inside knowing dinner would be soon and cleaned herself up a bit before heading towards the kitchen. |

Nighttime had went by slowly that night, the doctor came and went but Lynia's illness was worsening with every hour. Adaza never left her side, not even to eat, the servants collected his untouched food as he sat against the wall to the far east of her bedroom. His back was resting against the wall as he sat on the floor. His legs were bent, his elbows rested on his knees as he watched his pale daughter. He picked at his nails as he watched her, he knew it was worsening and nothing he could do to stop it. The doctor left the room after she stopped breathing, he covered Lynia's body to hide her from view from the breaking general before leaving. His body went cold as he heard the doctor leave the room, tears made their way down his face as he tried to fight his emotional break down. He had lost his world, he had nothing to live for. Wave after wave of emotions washed over him, he wanted to die. His body shook as he stared at the covered body of his daughter, he finally broke down letting his tears go and placing his head against the wall; his eyes never leaving his daughter. |
Kiyan hadn't seen Adaza at dinner, nor had she seen anyone that looked like a Darkous clan member. Though she did hear murmurs about Lynia... and none sounded good. Later on she walked down the hall and spotted Adaza sitting on the floor in a room and noticed something was wrong. She could smell death in the air and ran up the the room only to see a small form covered up. She covered her mouth and for once in a good while felt tears of pure sadness welling in her eyes. She wasn't sure how to help Adaza... she wasn't sure if she even could... but she knew she wanted to... she wanted to ease his pain in any way she could.... she just wasn't sure how.

He grabbed his head as he looked down, he was never good with death even in war; he always hid behind a mask to make him seem stronger then he was. His body steamed with a black mist, his body still trembled from the cold and waves of emotions. He could sense his servants and Kiyan slowly coming to the room, and for once Adaza didn't care if they saw him break down. He was crying from his lost, his power was tied to his emotions and so he played strong to control them but his mask had finally crumbled into dust. The shadows in the room slowly made their way to him as cried for his daughter, his heart was slowly being consumed by the shadows he commanded. "Get... away from... me." He hiss venomously to one of the servant girls. His voice was dripping with a darkness that could send the darkness of creatures chills. She backed away from him, mostly in fear. She looked at her master then at the corpse of her young mistress, her heart heavy as the rest. All of the servants left quietly, leaving only Kiyan and him within the room.

Kiyan felt deep sorrow as she watched Adaza and then saw the shadows and how he spoke to everyone and took a deep breath after everyone had left and walked over to him and placed her hand softly on his shoulder. She didn't care if he hurt her right now... for whatever reason she just wanted him to feel better. "I am so sorry for your loss... she's in a better place now though... she'll never be in pain or sick ever again... and she's with her mother." she whispered softly and hoped that wasn't the wrong thing to say but she just wanted to try to help in whatever way she could... if he hurt her she would let him... she would let him let out his pain on her and she wouldn't care.

He flinched under her touch, his body was still shaking and get colder with every second. "Take your hand off of me!" He snapped out at her, within seconds he was standing and walked away from her. His eyes where empty, but he never looked at her just his daughter. "Don't you ever talk to me about her or her mother." He snapped once again to the fox. The shadows fallowed him with every movement as he stood there, his face ran with tears and the pain dripped with every drop. He was standing at the end of the bed, her voice was echoing within his head. He walked around to her little body and sat on the edge of the bed near her.
"Lightly floating down the drop, of flowers touch your cheeks. Your smiles overcomes the shadows, and shines on for eternity." Adaza sang softly to his daughter, he took a deep breath before he spoke to her in their elfen language. He rested his hand on the blanket where her forehand was, his heart was breaking more with every passing second. |
Kiyan flinched slightly though then sighed and walked out of the room and down the hall wondering a bit if she would get to meet the doctor from her tribe tomorrow or if he had already left... it was getting late so if he was here he would probably be in bed. All she wanted to do was help Adaza this time but he pushed her away... maybe what she said wasn't the best thing to say? Oh well... she supposed he would eventually talk to her... unfortunately she had a feeling now that his daughter was dead she would soon die as well.

Adaza stayed with his daughter, he couldn't seem to find it in his heart to leave her. He knew he would have to lay her into the garden with her mother, his loving ex-wife. His mind was drifting from reality the more he stayed in there with her. After hours the doctor's assistant finally had to take her body away from him, but Adaza never moved from his spot on the bed. He stayed in the empty room, broken and alone. Only the shadows kept him company within his darkest hour, but even they felt to warm within his nightmare. - We could also time skip if you want. - |
It seemed like the night went on forever and yet Kiyan's short bits of sleep couldn't be long enough. She wasn't able to get much sleep... she kept dreaming about people yelling at her... being mamd at her for letting someone die when she could have saved them. She tossed and turned all night and when morning finally came she didn't want to get up... she had just finally fallen asleep.
Once morning came Kayo found himself back on the rode to Adaza's large abode. He had just found out that there was a Darkous girl now living there that he had not seen. He had made a point to know all of the Darkous and Katona clan members in this part of the kingdom but he had honestly only ever heard of one female that would ever dare to sneak into the army. As he arrived he started to ask about for Adaza and look for him wanting to ask him who the Darkous girl was... and if it was who he thought it was maybe they didn't have to put Adaza's little girl in the ground after all. Adaza never left Lynia's room, her doll was on his lap as he stared at the fragile porcelain doll. He was gently holding it, his tears had finally stopped for a while. He felt empty and alone, he was completely far from reality to realize the sun was raising. His white hair covered his face, his energy was drained from all the tears and the broken heart crumbling within his chest. He knew he had things to do, he needed to set of the funeral for his loving daughter. A task he was not wanting to do, it would mean she was truly gone. He rested his head back on the bed frame, her room was full of dolls and a music box that was once her mother's on her vanity. She had picked out her favorite dress to wear today with it's matching shoes, he took a deep breathe, he wasn't going to move for a long time.
