We had to start force feeding our cat milk, but it was already too late.
You might want to try like a wet catfood. It's supposed to make cats gain weight and your kitty may have a hard time eating dry food if it's older. Also, if you have a syringe try forcing it to drink milk or water if it's not drinking either.
