Ben frowned when he heard her and could smell the tears that she were holding back. Turning his back, he didn't have to watch her to know that she had headed back to the kitchen. Growling at himself he ran his fingers threw his hair, "why is it that I can never have anything good." he muttered to himself and started to pace around the living room like a animal. He knew he wanted to stay. He felt it on his other side too how it liked it here. Yet he couldn't, he was a danger to everyone around him if he stayed. Running his hand over his face he sighed, stopping right outside of the kitchen. Looking in at her, he felt like he wanted to just run over to her and pull her close. Finally, he took a few steps towards her, "look, Miriam, I am not trying to be mean it is just that I haven't had anything good in my life come my way. Usually it dosen't last so I am just.. I dont really know. But I do want to stay." he said softly as he looked down at the ground.
Her hands gripped the sink as she closed her eyes and tried to fight the tears in her eyes. Miriam looked at him as he walked over to her before scowling at him. But his words made her scowl disappeared and looked at him. The brunette touched his cheek and forced him to look at her as she smiled. "You haven't given it a chance, Ben. It's okay to be cautious but you are running from everything. Even those who want to help you. Like me." She said to him as her eyes stayed on him.
Ben saw the scowl on her face and knew he probably wouldn't be able to stay. Yet soon he felt her come closer to him and touch his cheek. When she forced him to look at her, he found a smile instead of a scowl. LIstening to her only made the pull to stay that much stronger as he looked into her eyes, "Running is all I have ever done since no one can help. But I am willing to stay and give it a chance." he said softly to her and knew that it probably wasn't good yet he didn't care anymore. If leaving meant hurting her he could never do that to her.
Miriam smiled at him and stroked his cheek as she looked at him. "I understand, Ben. I hope it's worth it." Her eyes on him as she stood there close to him. She stroked his face before throwing her arms around him and hugging him. The brunette closed her eyes before pulling back and blushing. "I'm sorry...I should have asked you first..." Her eyes went to her hands as she wrung them in front of her. The TV was still playing the movie in the background as she stood there in front of him. "It makes me happy to know you'll stay."
Ben smiled as she stroked his cheek and he leaned into her hand more, "as do I." he said softly as he continued to stroke his cheek. Yet what surprised him was when he felt her arms around him. For a second all he could do was stand there and as she pulled back he looked at her, "I am happy too and you never need to ask." he said before pulled her close in a hug. It was actually very nice to hug her and know that she wanted him close. But he wasn't sure if that would stay true if she found out what he truely was.
She smiled back at him as he leaned into her hand. Miriam blushed as he pulled her in close for a hug. Her eyes closed as she wrapped her arms around his neck and smiled. "Thank you, Ben. For not leaving." The brunette said softly as his arms were really comfortable and did not want to ruin the moment they were having. She just stood there with him as she opened her eyes.
Ben smiled as he held her close and knew he could get use to this, being able to be close to someone. Looking down at her as he still kept her close, he smiled, "how about if we go back and finish watching our movie." he said as he found himself taking her hand and started to lead the way back into the living room. He found that now he had her, he didn't want to leave even though he knew he would probably only cause problems.
Her eyes went to his as she smiled back and nodded. Miriam followed him to the living room and curled up next to him. She rested her hand on his chest as the phantom started to break all the mirrors in his lair. "Want me to start it over or put another movie in?" The brunette asked as she looked up at him, not noticing he could see down her shirt. Miriam looked at him with her lips parted and her shining, blue eyes on his face.
Ben smiled when she curled up next to him on the couch and gently wrapped a arm around her. "how about if we just start another movie. You pick." he said as he smiled at her. When he noticed he could see down her shirt, he made himself only look into her eyes. They were beautiful and part of him wanted to act on this, his more animal side. Yet he had control and he wasn't going to lose what he got now. He would be the best human he could be for now.
Miriam smiled as he wrapped his arm around her and nodded as she leaned forward for the remotes. Her shirt slid up to reveal the skin of her back and the top of her panties. She shut off the DVD player and turned on the cable before browsing through the new releases. The brunette selected 'Tangled' and smiled as she curled up with him again. "This movie is so funny." Her eyes went to the screen as she laid against him. "You are very comfy, Ben." She said fighting a yawn.
Ben smiled as he watched her as she moved and quickly looked away when he saw her shirt slid up. Once she settled on a movie and sat back down with him, he wrapped his arms around her again, "thanks." he said softly as he looked down at her and felt like he should kiss her but wasn't sure. Yet that wouldn't be good, so he turned his attention to the movie yet kept Miriam close. He didn't want to let go of her yet.
She smiled as he wrapped his arms around her. Miriam laid her head on his chest as she watched the movie on the TV. Her hands covered his when it came to the song "At last I see the light." The brunette started to sing with the movie as she looked at Ben and blushed. Her eyes were on him, begging for him to kiss her and hold her.
Ben smiled at her as he held her close and found that he actually liked this movie. Yet as the song came on, he found himself watching Miriam as she sung. She sounded like angels to his ears and as he watched that blush come to her cheeks he knew he couldn't resist anymore. Even though he had only known her for a few hours, so far she was the closest thing he had to family right now and he didn't want to pass her up. Pulling her close, he let his lips connect with hers and to him, she tasted of sugar and sweets.
Her eyes closed as she felt his lips on hers as she kissed him back. Miriam wrapped her arms around his neck as she smiled and pressed her body to his. She loved feeling him against her and his lips on hers. The brunette blushed more as she pulled back for air and smiled at him. "Ben, you're amazing." Miriam said as she moved her hands to his chest and rested her forehead against his.
Ben smiled as he felt her kiss back and he pulled her closer. All thoughts of danger or wrongness left his mind as he felt her pressed up against him. But too soon did she pull away. Yet when he heard her, he couldnt' help but laugh, "no, trust me I am not the amazing one here." he said as he looked into her eyes. HIs hand slowly rose to stroke her cheek as he smiled, "in all truth, your the more amazing one to me." he said softly.
Miriam smiled at him as she heard his words. "Ben..." Her eyes stayed on his as she covered his hand with hers before kissing him again. She closed her eyes and rubbed his chest as the movie was ignored again. "Should I just turn the TV off?" The brunette asked as she smiled at him. Her heart raced as she sat there with him as she prayed he would not leave her.
Ben smiled when he heard her say his name and loved it as she covered his hand with hers. kissing her back, he hopped that he coudl stay with her forever. As she rubbed his chest, he had to surpress a slight growl of happiness that wanted to come from him. He had to stay in check, he had to stay in control and be human. Shaking his head, he smiled, "leave it on, I like the noise." he said softly as he pulled her closer to him. The noise would help him remember that he wasn't animal, he was human.. for now.
She nodded before kissing him again and pressing her body to him. Miriam smiled as she let the movie play in the background for him. Her heart raced as she kissed him more and placed his hand over her heart. "Ben...you make me feel so good..." The brunette blushed more as she looked at him.
Ben smiled as he found her lips on his again. Kissing back, he pulled her as close to him as possibly and even though he ahd the movie playing for him, he found himself still losing it. He felt the other side bugging him to let go of all his fears and be the animal inside. The side wanted to just pull her close and ever let her go and when he heard those words from her it didn't help. The animal side started to break threw his will as he looked at her, the want to just be with her and not care filling him. Yet quickly he remembered what he was and instantly reality crashed down on him. Looking at her sadly, he tried to smile, "same...." he said softly but found that the happiness he briefly had with her was gone. "what time is it?" he asked since he knew he had to watch the time, remembering that he had to be away from town for his change.
Her hands rested on his chest as she kissed him more and smiled at him. Miriam noticed the look in his eyes and and rubbed his chest. "It's not even four o'clock." She said as she looked at him with concern. "What's the matter, Ben?" The brunette asked as she stroked his cheek. Miriam moved back so she could looked at him. Her eyes full of concern as she touched his chest lightly.
Ben loved it as she kissed him but he couldn't get to the same mood he had been in. When he heard hte time he realxed but sighed slightly as he felt her stroke his cheek. Placing his hand over hers, he looked into her eyes, "you have to tell me when it is 6 o clock. At that time I have to leave for the night." he said as he looked at her and sighed, "I proimse I will be back in the morning but when I go dont come looking for me. You have to promise me this Miriam." he said as he looked at her and stroked her cheek and hoped that she would understand.
Miriam looked at him as he covered her hand with his and looked at her. "Sure, Ben. But why do you have to go?" She asked as he promised that he would be back in the morning. "Why can't I look for you? What's going on?" Her eyes on him as she covered his hand and asked him. "Can't you tell me?" The brunette asked as she touched his chest.
Ben looked at her and shook his head, "I can't answer any of that, I can't tell you where I am going or why, but I can promise you that I will be back in the morning." he said as he looked at her and gently stroked her cheek. "and I can't tell you because I can't. If I did you would never blieve me and if you did you would look at me like I was a monster. So it is better not to tell you" he said as he looked at her. "just trust me on this, okay."
She looked at him and listened to him as he answered her. Miriam closed her eyes as he stroked her cheek and shook her head. "Ben, you don't know that for sure." Her eyes on him as she touched his cheek, a feeling of fear in her heart. "Don't you trust me?" The brunette asked as she looked at him with fear in her eyes.
Ben looked at her as he stroked her cheek. He smiled weakly at her as she touched his cheek, "I trust you, the person I dont trust is myself." he said as he looked into her eyes and saw the fear in it. "all I can tell you is that the reason I am going is to protect you and everyone else in this town." he said gently leaned in and kissed her lips, "I promise you when I am ready I will tell you but for now I can't, not till I can trust myself more." he said softly as he found himself holding her face in his hands.
