Tina waited until they were safely down the stairs and in one of the rooms before she looked at him. "You're an idiot sometimes."
"That's one I haven't heard before," Gold said as he sat down with a soft groan.
"Doesn't make it untrue," Tina said with a huff. "And while I understand that certain things are necessary, they're still stupid."
"I did what needed to be done," Gold said. "I won't apologize for that."
"I know. I didn't expect you to. I just thought you should know anyway." Tina handed him a drink.
Gold took the drink, although he didn't actually drink much of it.
"Did anything happen while I was otherwise occupied?" he asked. |
"Not much. Hook and Rachel getting ready to go." Tina shrugged. "Me trying not to be seasick again."
"Alright." Gold had just wanted to make sure nothing happened to them while he hadn't been around. "I might have a remedy for seasickness, if you want it."
Tina shook her head a bit. "I'll be fine if I stay up above," she said. "You should get some rest. I don't think Hook needs any help right now so you can settle in."
"I don't need rest," Gold said stubbornly even as his bad leg gave a few small muscle spasms. "I'm fine."
"You just fought Cora. You're resting." Tina's voice brooked no arguments, and she stood and headed for the stairs again. "Now get comfortable and rest."
"I'm fine," Gold insisted. He didn't move to get up, though.
Tina ignored him that time and just headed up top to keep an eye on things.
Gold tried to stand up and flinched when his knee didn't want to take his weight. He settled back down heavily and resigned himself to just resting for a little while.
By the time they were almost home again, Tina had calmed down and figured Gold had had enough time to rest. So she went down to check on him.
Almost against his will, Gold had fallen asleep, his bad leg propped up a bit. The rocking of the ship had lulled him off, and he seemed almost peaceful as he napped.
Tina looked at him for a few moments before she smiled a bit. Well, at least he was getting some sleep. So she made her way back up top.
Rachel was up on deck, sitting near the wheel. She was focusing on keeping the ship sailing on its own, and she stayed close so she could hear any instructions Killian gave. Thankfully, he'd started using normal-people terms, rather than throwing naval terms at her. She hadn't learned them all yet.
Mostly it was clear sailing, and Hook could already see land. But he was admiring the view in more ways than one. Rachel really had surprised him when she'd been able to make the ship sail, and she didn't seem so timid anymore either. He liked it.
Rachel glanced at him and blushed a little when she noticed him watching her.
"Are we almost back?" she asked. |
Hook nodded. "We don't have much farther to go now," he said. "And then we can all get some rest."
"Rest sounds good," Rachel said, nodding. She grinned. "I noticed my quilt somehow made it into your room."
"Oh?" Hook grinned. "Is that so?" She didn't look like she minded.
"I think it is," Rachel said, grinning. "And it's my quilt. It's only fair I get to use it."
"Well, that's certainly fair," Hook agreed with a grin. "I agree with that." He was watching her though to make sure she didn't mind.
