"Indeed," Gold replied. He sighed slightly. "But for the moment, they aren't here, so there's something to be said for small blessings."
Tina laughed quietly and shook her head. "Now now, it's only been one lesson, you can't be too exasperated yet."
"As you said, Miss Swan tests my patience," Gold pointed out. "She is resistant by nature."
"That is true," Tina said, grinning. "You'll mange. And I'll be hanging around too."
"Thankfully," Gold replied. "Although I do want you to rest until you feel better. I'd rather you not get any worse."
"I know. I'm resting, I'm being good." Tina grumbled a little. "I'm not trying to make myself worse."
"I appreciate that," Gold said. He pulled her closer gently. "I know you don't like being inactive."
"At least I feel well enough now to be in the garden," Tina grumbled a bit. "Otherwise I'd really be going nuts."
"I'm sure," Gold said, smiling a bit at her. "Just try to take it easy, alright?"
"I'm trying," Tina said, leaning against him again. "Although I don't think I have enough energy at the moment to get into too much trouble."
"You could probably do with more sleep," Gold said. "Perhaps you should let me take you back to bed."
"Not quite yet," Tina said. "I'm pretty comfy out here." She grinned a bit. "Besides, I can nap under the tree if I want."
"Well, let me know when you want to go back in," Gold said, resettling so he was comfortable next to her.
"I will, I promise." Tina settled in there with him, yawning a little.
"Good," Gold said. He just held her gently, letting her settle in.
Tina just settled in there for a while. She didn't quite end up napping, but she was relaxed.
Gold, on the other hand, did end up dozing for a little while. He was relaxed enough that he didn't mind dozing off, and he knew nothing would be able to get into the castle without him knowing about it.
After a while, though, Tina's stomach started to rebel again, and she had to head inside, grumbling the whole way, because this was not normal, nor was it fair.
Gold woke up when Tina went back inside, and he got up to make sure she was okay. He was worried about her; he'd never known her to get sick like this before.
Tina ended up in the bathroom flopped across the floor, trying to relax. She'd already been sick again, and she was trying not to repeat the experience.
Gold sighed softly and carefully gathered her up.
"You'll be able to relax more in bed," he said softly to her. He used a bit of magic to briefly stabilize his knee so he could carry her in to the bed. |
"Gold," Tina grumbled. "I can walk." But she didn't try to get down just yet. It wasn't far from the bathroom to the bed, after all.
"I know you can," Gold replied softly. "But I'd rather you not make yourself sick again." He set her down gently, using magic to pull the blanket back and then pulling it up again by hand. "It bothers me to see you sick like this, it isn't normal for you."
"No, it's not," Tina agreed. "I can't remember the last time I was this sick." She settled down in bed again gratefully.
"Just rest for now," Gold said. "If you still feel this way tomorrow, I'll make you something to settle your stomach."
