"Working on it," Tina agreed with a grin. "It'll take a bit of time but it'll get done."
"Right," Rachel said. She grinned. "At least the water won't get cold in the meantime."
Tina snorted. "Nope. Not a chance of that," she agreed with a grin.
Rachel laughed a bit and kept working on her hair. It took a while, but eventually they were both able to get all of Rachel's hair washed and conditioned, and Rachel finally climbed out of the hot spring.
Tina stretched and got out as well, grinning a bit. "I'm all pruney now," she said, grinning. "But at least I'm clean."
"Pruney, clean, and relaxed?" Rachel said, handing her friend a towel and grinning a bit.
"Yup. And just about ready for dinner, I think." Tina grinned and started drying off. "I'll have to go find Gold."
"Need any extra hands in the kitchen?" Rachel offered as she magicked her hair into a braid again and then worked on drying off.
"Sure, I've got some bread that needs slicing, and I'll fill the bowls," Tina said, grabbing her clothes. "Just some garden soup tonight."
"Sounds great," Rachel said, going into her bag and pulling out a spare set of clothes. Her others needed washed, and she would take care of it after dinner.
Tina led the way back up to the kitchen after they were both dressed and pulled out the bread and a bread knife.
"There you go, as much as you think we'll want. It's fresh." |
"Oh my, fresh bread..." Rachel said, just looking at it for a moment. "This is going to be amazing." Carefully, she began to slice the loaf.
Tina grinned and ladled out soup into bowls for them, setting everything on the table.
"I'll go let Gold know, you can go ahead and start," she told Rachel. |
"I can wait a few minutes, it's fine," Rachel said. She waved a hand. "Go on."
Tina chuckled but nodded and headed down to go find Gold.
She knocked quietly on the door to his workshop, even though it was open. Mostly just to announce herself. |
Gold wasn't working on anything volatile, so he didn't lock the door. He was setting several bunches of herbs to dry, and he glanced over when he heard Tina.
"Ah, Tina," he said, "what brings you down here? I would have thought that you would want to spend time with Rachel." |
"I spent time with her, and now it's dinner time," Tina said with an amused grin. "In case you hadn't noticed." Which clearly he hadn't, since he was still working.
That surprised Gold slightly, but he didn't say anything. He had thought that Tina would just spend the evening with Rachel, and he would leave them to their own devices for the night. He hadn't expected Tina to include him in anything. But he smiled a bit at her and got up.
"Of course," he said. "I was just a little caught up in my work, that's all." Reaching out, he pulled her close for a moment. |
"Aren't you always?" Tina teased with a grin, although she went to him willingly. He must be in a good mood; he still didn't initiate contact too often. So she enjoyed it while she could.
"Not always," Gold protested, letting her cuddle some. "But enough about my work habits. How are you feeling? Not too tired at all? You and the little one are holding up alright?"
Tina smiled. "We're fine," she promised. "I don't feel tired, it's been a relaxing day anyway. I'm being as careful as I know how."
"Good," Gold said. "As long as you're still comfortable."
"I am, don't worry. You'd know if I wasn't." Tina smiled. "Now let's go get some dinner. Before you forget again."
"I'm coming, not to worry," Gold said, walking out of the workshop with her. He closed the door behind them.
Tina led the way up to the kitchen and grinned a bit. "Hope soup is okay for tonight," she said, glancing back at Gold. "Soup and bread."
