His mom makes a decent amount, but really does not know how to spend well.
And with the house being old, the Electric bill is crazy high (a ton more than it should be).

Guess his mom makes too much, and they only allow 250 towards utilities and don't bother adding in car or insurance.
Hate the government institutions so much cause they are total bs!

I called and raged at the woman and she said it is supposed to be a supplement, not provide enough to feed the whole family for the entire month.

they really trult are. we went to them for rent help cause we werent making enough. they told us we only would receive 500 and whatever we made would be subtracted from that....

Get that plastic and tape up the windows, it really helps cut down on heating. and close doors and use towels to block out drafts.

Don't really know what is causing the issue and making the bill so high though.
We have not turned on the heat so far, and only have an individual heater in our room that we had bought when we had our house.

What we need to do is find and plug up the whole where the mice come in. At least the cat helps get rid of those now.

hmm... I don't know I only know those tricks from old apartment style houses I lived in during college. that and steel wool in any crack or crevice visible keeps mice out.
