Well my little sisters want a dog, i bet they would bug my parents a lot about it if i get a cat xD
Except for that, probably because of the hair or because it might scratch the sofas... i don't know, i didn't really talked to them about it recently ;p

And yeah i would get one if i had my own place, but i don't think i will anytime soon.
