Do farmers have to follow the daylight savings times though?

And whoa, I didn't know about that war thing! That's where it was invented.

Mmmm maybe that's why you don't do it over there.

Superstition 11-07-2012 03:09 AM

It was originally proposed by Benjamin Franklin but people though it was a little too strange.

RoyalSquishy 11-07-2012 03:13 AM

Wow...the origins of daylight saving times.

I love fall back, but spring forward sucks lol.

WherededIGo 11-07-2012 03:17 AM

People still think its strange XD

Superstition 11-07-2012 03:19 AM

No kidding.... I seemed it would work back in the day because it was supposed to help people accomplish more work with the sunlight so they could save oil for the lamps. Now we have lightbulbs and keep working into the night anyway! So DLS is a just a waste of time.

WherededIGo 11-07-2012 03:24 AM

Makes sense with the oil.

Superstition 11-07-2012 03:29 AM

Superstition 11-07-2012 03:34 AM

Yay!! Sorta's better than nothing!

RoyalSquishy 11-07-2012 03:35 AM

Welcome back Maiden

Oh, hmmm I sort of see your points now...LOL doesn't really matter in the end though, time is just time no matter how you utilize it?

maidenroseheart 11-07-2012 03:42 AM

It just seems like a hassle to change an entire system of time for a few months of the year... why not leave well enough alone. I'm not joking when I say that many here see it as downright silly. However, because Koreans idolize America, they won't openly say against it. Something you learn after awhile with them.

Superstition 11-07-2012 03:48 AM

Maiden, your avi is....different from your previous ones [;)]

RoyalSquishy 11-07-2012 03:48 AM

Do Koreans idolize America that much? O - O

And hahahaha well I wish we would change our teaching of the foot inches system to the metric system, because even I KNOW that THAT'S ridiculous

OMIGOD your avatar is starting to look reallly pretty *0*

You have no idea. Even though their medical care system is so incredibly better than America's, those who study medicine in America come back thinking that the country should up the prices of everything so that a few can have more profit because that is the way America is. I was shocked when I learned that.

Metric is a norm here... I give up trying to think in other terms, I'm learning (slowly) the metric.

Working on it...

RoyalSquishy 11-07-2012 03:58 AM

I love the metric system, it's so much easier to work with and less memorization of numbers. But yeah, if you were taught at a young age about the English system, its hard to understand.

Well, I've never really known if medical systems in other countries would work in America, based mainly on the SHEER SIZE of America........>0< But then again, I don't know much about the medical system. (even though I should)

Superstition 11-07-2012 04:00 AM

I need to learn the metric for meteorology.... Not looking forward to that -_-

Sorry maiden, I was trying to be funny. Your avi was nakey at the time. I've had sugar in case you couldn't telll [:P]

maidenroseheart 11-07-2012 04:07 AM

oh dear, sugar high alert...

America isn't considered by anyone but Americans to have a good system. They are scorned in the rest of the world for several things and that is one of them. Americans ability to believe CNN is another.

I was told a story last night by a soldier who was part of the guard who guarded President Bush. He said that on CNN in all these towns there were riots and you could see videos of the riots as the president was there. He looked around the site that he was guarding, no riots. The president shows up. A van races up and a group of people hop out and start acting crazy. CNN shoots the scene. The people jump in the van and take off as the president leaves. Then CNN leaves. The news for that city was lots of rioting even though there was none. Yet all of America saw and believed the videos.

Superstition 11-07-2012 04:15 AM

Those who believe CNN, ABC, NBC, etc are idiots.....

maidenroseheart 11-07-2012 04:19 AM

Koreans do not like CNN. They blame CNN for Americans bad attitudes towards North Korea as well as for Americans fear of the "war" that is about to resume here. Phsht. Yeah right. South Koreans are desperate for unity between the two countries and it was almost a reality. Then Bush was elected and he destroyed relations with North Korea and all the careful work ruined. More years families must wait to be reunited.

RoyalSquishy 11-07-2012 04:25 AM

Haha, I don't exactly consider American system as the best either....U_U

I don't really watch the news at all, but I tend to be one of those believers sometimes. Nowadays you can't tell reality from something staged. U_U

Oh, and Maiden, are you sailor moon themed? :D

Superstition 11-07-2012 04:25 AM

I remember you saying you were afraid when the N. Korea's dictator's son took his place. How is that good? We were threatened by N. Korea's dictator that he had weapons aimed at us. I definately believe the citizens what non-communist unity, it's those in power who you have to convince.

I'm sorry maiden, I shouldn't have turned your thread into a debate thread.

RoyalSquishy 11-07-2012 04:32 AM

Haha, someone feels very strongly about this subject. O_O

Good to voice your opinion occasionally though! :3

Superstition 11-07-2012 04:34 AM

Lol my mother is a very opinionated student of history and politics, so I guess some of it rubbed off :P
