Sounds like my family. Although no one likes my Father (myself included) so at least we can all agree on one thing.
And I was just going with Meemaw because of the Big Bang Theory. We have taken to calling Kailee Moon Pie xD It can't be any worse then what my Mom's boyfriend's family does. They call their granmothers Mom Mom. I was so confused the first time I heard that. |
Ah family.
The one group of friends I had that called their grandmother MeeMaw, well, they were Southern, and they had the most nasally whiny voices ever. So it's permanently burned into my brain as annoying! I've heard Mimi for Grandmother. It seems less grating. Just found this list Grandmother Names - Choosing Your Grandmother Name I might go with Obachan or just Bachan (Japanese) just for something different XD I hear it so much in anime, why the heck not? Fortunately, this is not even an issue with my child, who is a dog [rofl] As far as she's concerned, my Grandma and Grandpa are her Grandma and Grandpa. |
are you Japanese? |
Absolutely not XD Cookie is a very boring whitey white person. My great grandparents on my dad's side came from Poland and we called them Polish names, but that's as ethnic as Cookie gets.
I named my puppy Niku. It's Japanese for meat >_> My mom is horrified XD I named her for an original character in a story I wrote. Either way, it's a bit different from naming her Spot or something. |
Fido.
MOST ORIGINAL NAME EVER. |
Fido is the epitome of original.
|
No. Dog is the most original name for a dog.
My grandfather refers to Niku as dog. He's all "Dog has been fed." Dog being a name, not "the dog". "Dog wants to play. Dog woke me up this morning. Dog is begging again." I call her Dog sometimes too. I don't know how she keeps her name straight with all the different things we call her. XD And now, to bed with me. |
LOL! Good night~
|
My dad's parents, we call Mom-mom and Pop-pop.
My boyfriend's nieces call his parents Mama and Papa. I think they call their other grandparents Nana and Poppie. I've heard Nannie, Nona, Mimi, Grammy, and Grams for grandmothers. Poppie, Papa, Nono, Pops, and Gramps for grandfathers. One of my clients' children referred to her grandfather as Cookie. |
I don't wanna be a Grandma [gonk]
|
*pokes her head in* Hello, can I come in for a visit?
|
Of course you can!
::offers up some tea and a biscuit:: |
It's the law of owning pets.
You'll spend hours, maybe even days coming up with the perfect name. Then immediately start calling it something else for the rest of it's life. |
AhHAAAhahaha!
WAY too true! We called our girl cat Flipper at first, because when she was a tiny kitten, she would jump up and do little flips off the side of the couch. Then she became Snickers because she started to have stripes in the colors of the Snickers bars. But we call her Nicky, ni-nicks, behbehs, and bitchy-face. The boy cat, Loki, gets called Dummy and Bud-buds. |
my cats are just baby and sumo cause sumo was the biggest and baby was the smallest.
|
Kyou gets called Ass-Hat a lot. I have no idea why. My other cat Alisa gets Old Lady Cat because she is 16, and my dog Cookie get Dog Face and Monster Butt.
|
Always stupid silly nicknames, always.
|
Says Bad Rad, the master of Naughty. Who's a bad widdle fox man? Wad's a bad widdle fox man!
|
They have to be! I have no idea why xD
|
Cause if they were normal, you would have named them that.
|
OMG American Horror story is driving me nuts!
Nick names are fun |
