"Julie has a little one to train already," Maeve said. "She took on an orphaned Electrike."
"Oh she should go see Thor," Tony said with a wicked little grin. "He'll love her forever for taking in an abandoned little one like that."
Maeve couldn't help but grin.
"Agent Coulson made a similar comment," she said. |
"He would," Tony said with a brief grin. "No, seriously, both of you come up and bring your pokemon with you and we'll all have lunch and catch up and all that stuff."
Maeve sighed theatrically.
"If you insist, Mr. Stark," she said. She couldn't help but ruin the effect a bit by grinning. |
"I do insist, and this is my building, so you better comply," he said with a grin. "And I built the Helicarrier so you can't use the SHIELD excuse either."
"We'll be there," Maeve said. "Now, what's on the agenda for testing today?"
"It's over there somewhere." Tony waved a hand at a few pads sitting around on one of the work benches. Because he didn't actually know, since he always did his own thing.
Maeve nodded and went to look through the pile. Once she found the list, she gestured to her pokemon to follow her and headed back down to the testing lab.
Julie, meanwhile, had found a way to keep them all amused and was currently playing with some of the things to be tested. Altaria was keeping track of Electrike to make sure the little one didn't wander off too far.
Maeve went inside with their list of projects.
"We've been invited to lunch upstairs," she said to Julie as she handed over the list so her partner could look at it. |
"That should be an experience." Julie grinned briefly and looked over the list quickly. "Alright, we may as well get started."
Maeve nodded and grinned, picking something on the list to start with.
A few hours later, she called a stop to testing for a bit. "Come on," she said. "Lunch time, we might or might not be expected up on the top floor." |
Julie nodded and herded her three into the elevator to go up for food. Electrike especially seemed a little jumpy, so she ended up carrying him.
Tony grinned when he heard the elevator ding. "About time," he muttered, striding over. "Did you two forget?" he teased once they were on the main floor, grinning. |
"We had to hit an actual stopping point in the tests," Maeve replied, making sure her pokemon were following. She wasn't worried about Gardevoir, but Chandellure still liked to explore some.
Tony snorted at that. He didn't believe in actual stopping points, mainly because he didn't stop until he had it figured out.
"Food's here, and everyone else is waiting," he said, heading back to the kitchen. "Mainly Thor and Steve, though, I made them wait so they haven't had seconds yet." |
"You didn't have to wait on us," Maeve protested as she followed him. "We can take care of ourselves if we need to." She grinned. "We have the badges to prove it and everything."
Tony snickered. "Yes, but you are here anyway," he pointed out. "Clint, get off the counter, the ladies need to get to the food and you are not conducive to eating."
Clint just raised an eyebrow at Tony.
"I'm not in the way," he replied, grinning a bit. |
Tony rolled his eyes and shooed the archer off the counter anyway. "Go perch on the couch," he ordered. "Shoo. Pest."
Clint rolled his eyes in return, but hopped off the counter and went to his usual spot on the back of the couch to pick up his video game again. He blinked when Chandellure drifted over to watch.
Julie laughed quietly at that, remembering what had happened last time, and went to go get food and settle down somewhere so she could feed her three. After getting her lunch, Altaria drifted over to hover above Clint and watch his game, too.
Clint glanced over and almost did a double-take when he saw Altaria.
"What, am I some sort of babysitter now?" he asked, glancing between Altaria, Chandellure, and the girls. "No, that's my job," Maeve said with a bit of a grin. |
Julie laughed. "Nah, pretty sure Coulson wouldn't deem you babysitter material," she said with a grin. "Unless you needed to be babysat, then he'd agree."
Clint rolled his eyes, muttering about not needing a babysitter and waving them off.
