"Not your fault," Julie reminded her, grimacing and tilting her head back against a tree. "Let's just get out of here before Doom decides to start searching more thoroughly for me."

Maeve nodded.

"Hang out here," she said. "I'll go arrange our ride home." She gestured for Chandelure to stay and took Gardevoir with her, going to make a couple calls.

Julie was feeling a bit better by the time their ride arrived, although she knew she'd be off active duty for a few weeks to let her leg heal fully. Because Ariados' venom did actually work on humans too.

Maeve helped Julie onto the jet, keeping an eye on her.

"Let me know if you need another antidote," she said, handing her friend a protein bar.

"Should be okay now, just have to let it work and then heal." Julie ate the bar and slumped back in her seat.

"Coulson's going to have someone's head for this I bet."

"Someone's going to lose their job and quietly disappear for this," Maeve agreed, nodding. She made a frustrated face. "I hate bad intel."

"Me, too." Julie sighed. "Well, at least we get video of whoever the dumb shit was getting reamed by Coulson and Fury. You know how pissed Fury gets when people get hurt because of bad intel."

"I'm going to spam the entire forum with it," Maeve promised. She glowered a bit, still Not Pleased.

Julie yawned briefly. "Am I allowed to take a nap?" she asked, looking at Maeve. Sure, she'd taken first-aid courses, but most of those had been field-oriented, not the after you've had medication and are safely on the way back kind.

Maeve considered for a moment, then nodded.

"I'll wake you every hour for now," she said. "Just in case."

Julie nodded and settled in for a nap, using Altaria as a pillow while Typhlosion stood next to her, still keeping guard.

Maeve set Gardevoir to keep an eye on her and began writing her preliminary reports. Because she had a few choice words for Coulson.

By the time they got back to the Helicarrier, Julie was still tired but she was feeling better. As long as she kept her weight off her injured leg. She limped inside with Maeve's help, though she straightened and tried to stand on her own when Fury intercepted them.

Maeve kept a straight face when Fury intercepted them, although she stayed close to Julie in case her friend needed to lean on her.

"Director," she greeted.

"Explain what happened here," Fury said, his voice quiet and controlled. For the moment.

"We were given faulty intel," Maeve replied. "Von Doom was not out of the country like we were told."

Fury nodded once. "Get her to medical," he ordered. "I'll find out who didn't do their goddamn homework."

Maeve nodded and tucked herself under Julie's arm again, helping her towards the medical bay.

Julie made it to medical before she flopped over on a bed, letting the personnel poke and prod at her leg before giving her a few shots, wrapping her leg more thoroughly, and telling her to go home and get some rest.

Maeve managed to get Julie to her apartment without further incident.

"Stay here," she said. "I'll go and pick up Vulpix and Electrike."

"They can stay until tomorrow," Julie said, yawning briefly. "Since I'll be at the Tower tomorrow anyway."

"I'm sure they miss you," Maeve pointed out. "It's no problem for me to go and get them. You just stay here and rest."

Julie give in after a few moments and nodded, laying back on her bed. Altaria had already settled in with her to fuss over her.

Once Maeve was sure Altaria would look after Julie, she made her way towards the Tower to get the other two pokemon. And, yeah, to let the guys know that they were back. That too.

Tony looked over at her from where he was sprawled on the couch nursing a Scotch. "You're back early," he said, looking her over briefly to make sure she wasn't injured.
