Not sure about the ball name, but lol, I am under impression that Queen mab is a very popular choice. XD

blueblackrose 04-07-2013 05:48 PM

Queen Mab was popular, but so were two of the other names. There is a three way tie right now, lol.
As for the ball name there is just a two way tie.

Nephila 04-07-2013 10:14 PM

Oh my! I can see Lady Titania also being a popular choice. I can't wait to see who it'll be!

Cora 04-07-2013 11:33 PM

So will we need to vote again to break the tie?

We shall take a vote just using the ones that are tied. Though I think that it might be nice to combine the two winning ball names somehow. Like call the ball The Willow Moon Ball or something along those lines.

As for the name. I'm sorry that all the names are female. I did ask for people to make suggestions before we voted and no one suggested male names.

@ hummy - I seen that and thank you. Today has been kind of crazy so I haven't had time to work on my entry.
I'm hoping that I will after I finish dinner.

Kent 04-08-2013 12:37 AM

Okay~ o 3o Sounds like a good plan~

That doesn't mean you had to make them all female. ; 3; It's not like all those names were actually suggested.
Sorry for suggesting it a little too late. ; x;

Cora 04-08-2013 01:07 AM

The Blue Willow Ball?

Or the Willow Moon Ball?

I am somehow not surprised that Absinthe is so popular. Although.....is it appropriate for a PG-13 site user event?

blueblackrose 04-08-2013 01:20 AM

@ Kent - Well the event mule is usually male. I was kind of surprised that the names and stuff ended up being all female this year.

@ Cora - Yeah something like that, lol.

I'm not either and really I'm not sure. It probably isn't so we might want to stay away from it.

hummy 04-08-2013 01:22 AM

i forgot you were so busy

i just didn't want you to forget
<3

Cora 04-08-2013 01:23 AM

Not to be the downer of the group *sweat*

then again....the whole last event was basically a sexy underwear party........but you might want to ask the staff before using it.

On the topic of the female thing.....

When people think of fairies it tends to be a female association....even though there are male fairies as well.

It's alright and I appreciate the reminder.
Still haven't gotten around to working on it yet. Shoot I haven't even finished my dinner because I keep getting called away.
*sighs*
Sometimes I swear it would be a miracle if I got to eat a hot or warm dinner...

Don't worry about it. I'm not sure myself so I'd have to ask.
The reason I added that one even with what it's associated with is because I thought that it might be ok considering some of the items we have and some of the events that we have had.

You bring up a good point.

xuvrette 04-08-2013 04:33 AM

When mention Fairy, there are a looooooot more female fairy characters in fiction than male... so it naturally lean to female name. I guess, no surprise.

...I am not a fan for having color name in the ball name. x.x
Now seeing the tie... XD I would thought we should list the word use on the ball name instead of the already combined.
Like... Aurora, Eclipse, Moon... XD then when tie happen, it can merge just like that.

I never see WIllow so popular. O__O It must be a VERY important reference that I am missing.
We can totally ditch the BALL at the back. The title could be just simply... Moon in the Willow. bleh just playing around with words.

oh, Viatrix, please. XD
Kent, that name is not all that feminine.Maybe we can pull a drag queen plot. HAHA! XD Fairy Queen to Fairy King.

Cardinal Biggles 04-08-2013 05:11 AM

Oh gosh, I can't believe someone voted for my terrible pun ball name.

The willowwood ball? I'm reminded of Dante Gabriel Rossetti'ss poem: Poetry X » Poetry Archives » Dante Gabriel Rossetti » "Willowwood"

xuvrette 04-08-2013 05:19 AM

Yeah,so you bear responsibility on everything now~ *push responsibility*

Moondancing in the Willow. XD, or Moon Waltz.

lol That actually sounds quite interesting. XD

XxZombie.Mama.NephxX 04-08-2013 09:51 PM

Who the heck is Viatrix and how did she get so many votes in the first place? XD Also Absinthe is an Alcohol name that when drank the "Absinthe Faerie" is suppose to appear. It's not the name of the Absinthe faerie herself. XD *shakes head* Fools, this is why democracy doesn't work. Uninformed voters. I also agree that Absinthe is not really a 13+ friendly idea.

However I do like the idea of calling it "The Willow Moon ball". Sounds pretty and does have a connection to the legends around the fae. In Celtic zodiac mythos trees are used instead of animals. The willow is connected to the moon and creativity. In Druidic astrology to say you were born under the Willow moon means from the middle of April to mid may at night. Though when we hold the actual event it'll be the Holly moon.

A drag queen faerie? Really? Since it's kind of a slur to call some one of a different sexual preference a "fairy" I don't think that's the wisest way to go either. [sweat] Sorry to sound like such a downer on this.XD

Kent 04-08-2013 10:02 PM

lol That's weird that I didn't even think of that. How did that come about? OTL Humans are so annoying.

I didn't know that! I'd support this. I love the idea of the name of the ball actually having a connexion to something concrete.

Viatrix is a name that I suggested and is also a the name of my faerie OC. As to why that name got so many votes is beyond me. I never said that the name for the mule had to be one from actual literature or folklore since we were considering creating a back story for the event.

That is very interesting. I didn't know that and personally I really liked the idea of naming the ball The Willow Moon Ball.

I have to agree on the whole drag queen faerie idea. It's probably not the wisest of ideas. Just like with the Absinthe thing.

xuvrette 04-09-2013 05:35 AM

I don't get how drag queen gain the popularity at all from the beginning too. *shrug*
I was just joking.

Nephilala don't like the name Viatrix? *tlts head*

Codette 04-09-2013 01:12 PM

The Willow Moon Ball sounds lovely.

Hmm yea drag queen seems like it would get a negative response especially with all the complaints about the 'adult' nature of the Easter event *eyeroll* but it would've been cute.

Bbr how are we going to do tie breaker for the mules name.
Personally I still love the idea of Queen Mab. No offense to your oc Bbr.
