I don't read historical fiction... and non fiction is definitely not my taste. DX
I dont read history I just like to watch documentories (sp?)on it
ooo! ooo! Documentaries, visual is very good in history presentation!
That is how they should teach history, not through boring texts. |
I love reading non-fiction books. But not biographies.
I am a very visual learner! I love to watch learning types of things!
I would like the presentation of facts to be linked in a way that is like a story, interesting.
I love watching films about things, they're inspiring and emotional in a way that a text isn't. However I don't remember things and details from visual media as well as from a text. I need a text that I can re-read and most importantly I need to make my own notes. otherwise I forget.
Point is: it's very different how people remember and learn things. :) |
Yep, I agree.
You just have to find your way of learning. It is very important to know which method is suitable for you. |
my favorite non fiction books I've read for school and I liked them a lot. Ones was about Descartes and some history and philosophy, but also the mystery of what happened to his bones. the other was a very story based account of different explorers/archeologists.
Descartes?
I love mysteries. IF it is about mysteries, then I guess the non fiction could be itneresting as well, reading up all the theories. |
It's really a plus when the school lit is interesting, when you have a lot to read for school there's usually not time to read other stuff. (for me at least. :/
just google him if you want to know. I don't like to have to explain everything.
A philosopher?
yes. a famous one, but also a mathematician.
... Famous. XD I never heard of him.
Seems like my history class jumped him. Socrates or Plato was mentioned though. |
well, I never learned about any philosophers in basic history classes. But Descartes saying "I think therefore I am" I knew since I started junior high.
huh? I only have vague idea about what... was it napoleon said... something about conquer, I am...
I don't know anything about Napoleon really, but if he said something like "I conquer, therefore I am," then he's playing off of Descartes philosophy.
Or was it something alongt he lines of... "What I see, I conquer."
I forgot... DX |
I don't know.
But I sure never heard of Descartes. :/ hmm...
Anyway~ I am more interested with Greek or Roman if it is European history. |
I do like learning about egypts (sp?) his though it is very interesting to me.
I am more interested with greek and Chinese. XD
my favorite parts of art history was the beginning, learning about egyptian, mayan, and other ancient civilizations. I like roman art a lot too, but I'd rather not learn about it all the time.
oh lol. XD Nothing about eastern?
