Logan listened in on them shamelessly and started growling. Nope, they weren't good trainers. He could see they had a few places marked on the maps, one of which he recognized as the city he'd come from.
And then he heard things about bratty crying chibis and he knew they were the ones stealing the chibis. |
The Hulk had made his way closer to Logan at this point, and heard him growling. This, in turn, set Hulk off; anything that made Logan angry was something smashable, and Hulk wanted very much to smash whatever was setting Logan off.
|
"Guys," Rei said, moving over to them. "What's going on?"
"They did it." Logan glared at the offenders. "They've been stealing chibis." Rei looked back at Faye with a "what now?" look. |
Faye looked just as helpless as Rei. She had no idea what to do.
Hulk, on the other hand, took matters into his own hands. He growled a bit and started towards the chibi thieves, intent on smashing them. |
Logan went with him. Anyone who stole chibis was a horrible person and deserved to be skewered.
Erik decided to help them out, holding out a hand and levitating all the bishiballs over to him so he could release the chibis. |
Tony, meanwhile, had pulled a palm-sized hologram tablet out of his pocket and was busy hacking into the trainers' dexes to get everything he could on them while simultaneously sending the information to the proper authorities back in town and ruining any chance these people had of ever being trainers again.
|
Erik growled a bit when he couldn't open the bishiballs himself and handed them off to Rei to open. Rei released all the chibis she came across, feeling a little more heartbroken with each one that ran off to go home.
|
Faye couldn't help but want to comfort the chibis and tell them everything would be alright, but she stopped herself from going near them.
|
"We need to escort them closer to the city," Erik said. "They're too young to go alone."
"But we can't get close," Rei pointed out. "Within three miles will be close enough." |
Once his rage was satisfied, Hulk shrank back down into Bruce.
"I'll help," he said, looking determined. |
Erik nodded, managing to gather up the little ones. Logan helped wordlessly, and Tony kept an eye on all of them.
"I'll stay with these two," he said. "Once we get closer." |
Faye nodded.
"That's fine," she said. "We'll follow you, and we'll stop when you say we're close enough." |
Tony nodded, hanging back with the girls and letting the other three males herd the chibis along in front of them.
|
Bruce helped keep any stragglers in the group, occasionally checking to make sure Tony and the girls were keeping up.
Faye made sure to stay back far enough from the chibis that the bishies didn't start getting protective. She glanced at Tony. "So what was that shiny little piece of tech you had earlier?" she asked. "Anything interesting?" |
"Something that lets me intercept and hack any wireless devices in the area," Tony said with a shrug. "Just a fun little thing."
|
Faye blinked.
"It's the size of a credit card," she said, "and see-through. And it can do that?" |
"Yeah." Tony grinned briefly. "Once I get a decent supply and get everything up and running, you'll have to see my room. It's been teched-out."
|
"Let me know when you feel it's presentable," Faye said, nodding. She grinned. "I love shiny new tech."
|
"You should let me at your dex, then," Tony said with a grin. "I can upgrade it. A lot. I can probably do anything you can think of with it."
|
"I'm still learning how it works," Faye said. "Once I'm good with it, then maybe." But she didn't say 'no.'
|
Tony noticed that and grinned. Awesome. He approved of that.
After a few hours, they stopped, and Erik looked over at the girls. "Perhaps now would be a good time to stop for the night." |
Faye nodded.
"Alright," she said. She was willing to follow the bishies' lead on this one. She looked at Rei. |
"Sure. I'll cook dinner for everyone. Logan, you mind finding some fire wood for me?"
Logan walked off wordlessly, and Rei looked at Erik and Bruce. "Well, I don't think we have enough of any one thing to feed everyone besides ramen, so it's ramen or I can open up the pantry and everyone can forage for themselves." |
Bruce just shrugged.
"Ramen should be fine for one night," he said, "and personally, I don't mind it this once." |
"Great." Rei got out her biggest pot and started getting the necessary water while Logan brought back firewood and set it up so she could cook for everyone.
