Rei waved her on, grinning briefly. Hey, she knew she was a horrible aim, she looked forward to having someone else throw those things first.
Faye nodded and ventured off the path and into the bushes. There was a startled yelp and a muffled thump, and then silence.
"Rei?" Faye called. "Rei, I think I got one!" |
Rei jogged over to her, grinning. "Great. Go see who it is, then." She was looking forward to this.
Cautiously, Faye picked up the innocent-looking bishiball on the ground, as if it might bite her. After a moment of fiddling, she got it to open, and she blinked when she saw a Tony Stark.
Tony blinked at her and then glowered when her dex beeped at her until she opened it. He listened to all the information it rattled off before rolling his eyes.
"Really, I could have told you all that myself," he said. "I could make it sound less annoying, too. Or I could just let Jarvis take it over, that would make things so much easier." |
Faye just blinked for a moment, staring.
"No thanks," she managed to squeak. |
"Damn. Oh well. Maybe later." Tony grinned at her. "Well, as you heard, I'm Tony, and apparently you're now my trainer. This will be interesting."
"Uh huh," Faye said, still a bit shocked. "Oh god it's real. It really is."
"Oh you must be really new." Tony made a vaguely disgusted sound. "Great. Yes, I'm real. See? Real." He poked her shoulder.
Faye couldn't help but blink again.
"All of a sudden I feel kind of validated," she said. She grinned widely. "This is awesome." |
"On to the next stage so fast." Tony shook his head, looking amused. "It's like taking Peter to the big lab. Flitting around like crazy."
Faye just couldn't stop grinning. She was still working through the fact that Tony Stark was in front of her and technically belonged to her.
"And right now I've got all these useless trivia tidbits going through my head that I've accumulated since the first movie," she commented. She paused. "Mostly useless." |
"What changed it to mostly useless?" Tony crossed his arms loosely over his chest, looking vaguely interested. Mostly because it was about him.
"Things like I know for a fact that during most of the filming, RDJ was either wearing heels or standing on boxes to be the proper height," Faye said, grinning. "Producers had to equalize his height with Gweneth Paltrow and Chris Evans somehow."
"That is RDJ," Tony said indignantly. "And much as it seems that way I am not him. No platforms, no boxes." He smirked.
Faye grinned.
"Nope, I totally see you're taller than I am," she said. "By enough, at least." |
Tony grinned and shook his head. "Good, now no more comments about heels or platforms, they're not at all comfortable."
"Lies, I've owned very comfortable heels and platforms in the past," Faye promptly replied, grinning. Oh it was way too easy to settle into banter with him. "You'll have to tell me that story sometime." Because she definitely heard some experience talking there.
"Sure. Sometime." Tony grinned. "Eventually. So I'm your first?" He was already sure of it, but he wanted to be extra sure. Because he'd heard that the first of any group usually got some special treatment, and of course he deserved special treatment. Like technology.
"Yeah," Faye replied, nodding. "Rei and I are new as of something like eight hours ago. Honestly I'm surprised this happened so quick."
Tony shrugged. "I'm pretty sure they do mostly want people to stay here, so they try to have enough of us running around to make it possible to get a bishi in two weeks."
"Yeah, two weeks," Faye said. "Like I said, I'm surprised it didn't take that long. I'm usually not so lucky as that."
Tony shrugged and grinned. "Well it looks like today is your lucky day, especially since you caught me. Not all trainers are that lucky, you know."
Rei snorted. "Good luck with him," she muttered. |
Faye just rolled her eyes a bit. She was pretty up on her Marvel, after all; she knew to take everything Tony said with a grain of salt.
"Either way, I'm set now, so now it's Rei's turn to take the lead." She looked at her friend. |
"Not quite set," Tony said, glancing around. "My Brucie is around here somewhere, you need to catch him, too."
