"I'm not. I'm in a good mood, and if you ask the others I make their favorites too," Lea pointed out. "Natasha is fond of ravioli and perogi, Clint likes meatball subs, Steve likes lasagna. Agent Coulson likes apple turnovers. I just don't have to ask you what you like is the only difference."

Amy was quiet for a moment.

"Sorry," she murmured finally. "I just... don't want to be coddled. I can look after myself just fine.'

"I know," Lea said, going to pull things out of the fridge. "I think I of all people would know that, Amy."

Amy didn't reply, just sitting down at the table and putting her head on her arms. She didn't want to argue or fight with her sister, but she couldn't help how she felt, either.

Lea stayed silent as she worked on dinner, her good mood mostly gone. But she didn't let the cookies burn, and once they were cool enough she set the plate on the table silently.

When the plate got set on the table, Amy reached out and took a cookie. She wasn't angry at her sister, after all, so she wasn't going to refuse her sister's cooking. She nibbled on the cookie as she waited for dinner.

Lea had Jarvis alert everyone once dinner was ready, letting everyone serve themselves. She took her plate and sat at the table, watching the normal semi-chaos with amusement.

When people started filtering in, Amy moved down to one corner of the table, only briefly getting up to get a plate before tucking herself in the corner again. She might be in a bit of a mood, but she didn't want to affect everyone else because of it.

Of course, Loki noticed and sat next to her, although he didn't say anything yet. He figured the crowded kitchen was not the best place to have such a conversation.

Amy leaned against him a little when he sat down next to her, but didn't do more than that. Their budding relationship was still too new for her to want to broadcast it to everyone yet.

Loki was very much in agreement with her in that respect. It was normal for the two to sit together, so that wouldn't raise eyebrows, at least.

Well, except for Thor's, but Thor already knew what was going on between his brother and the girl. He just glanced over at his brother briefly before turning his attention away again.

Loki gave Amy as long as she needed to eat dinner, but when the others started to gravitate towards the living room, he raised a questioning eyebrow at her.

Amy looked a bit torn. On the one hand, she didn't particularly want to be around so many people at the moment, but on the other hand, she didn't want to be isolated, either. She slumped in her seat a bit. She just wasn't in a very good state of mind.

Loki just gave her time, sitting there with her. The rest of the group was in the other room, which was fine by him, and after a few minutes he stood to make tea.

Amy took a cookie off of the plate on the counter and nibbled on it, watching him.

"Tony finally finished the cure," she said softly.

"Oh?" Loki looked at her, quickly figuring out that she meant for Lea. "And how is your sister handling it?"

"...Better," Amy said. "She seems better. Whole."

Loki nodded. "And she is doubtless going to working on the same for you now," he said gently, watching her. He could tell something was wrong, he just wasn't sure what.

Amy was quiet for a moment.

"What if it doesn't work?" she finally said softly. "What if I stay broken?"

"Then we keep working until we find a way to make it work and make you comfortable," Loki said.

"I'm afraid," Amy admitted quietly. "I don't want to be broken anymore."

"Then what are you afraid of? Being broken still? Or of the change?" Loki raised an eyebrow at her.

"I don't know," Amy replied. "Both?" Having Extremis was all she'd ever known, and she was afraid to risk getting worse if the cure failed.

Loki nodded. That made perfect sense.

"We will take things one step at a time. You needn't worry just yet."
