Loki nodded, pleased. He'd have to make sure he was prepared and start gathering up whatever would be necessary. It wouldn't be cold there, but it would be quiet, and not in the city, so they'd need a few extra things.
A few days later, Amy was packed up and ready to go. She was looking forward to the trip with Loki, and not just because it promised to be quieter than the one before. She wanted to spend time with him.
It took Loki a bit of time to find the entrance to Asgard from this side, but he managed, and he led her through without hesitation. He did smirk when they emerged on the side of a mountain in Asgard.
Amy looked around in awe as he led her though the secret passage and out into Asgard.
"That was amazing," she said. "Does anyone else know about this?" |
"No," Loki said with a brief grin. "No one else knows in all of Asgard." He started walking, finding the easiest route down the mountain.
"Even more impressive," Amy said, grinning. She followed him. "How did you find it?"
"I was more interested in exploring than learning to fight as a child," Loki said. "So it was easy to slip away on my own. Besides, these passageways are made of magic, and magic sometimes calls to magic."
Amy listened, fascinated.
"So where are we going now?" she asked. "I'm assuming we're going to avoid the citadel, right?" |
"That's correct. We're going to a quieter area. I have had my own little area out here for a long time. Mother never approved, but she also never really knew where it was." Loki smiled, rather smugly. He liked having his secrets.
Amy grinned a bit.
"That doesn't surprise me," she said. "You and your secret places." |
Loki grinned, not at all ashamed, and kept walking. It would take a little while to get there, but he didn't mind. After all, they were in no danger and no hurry.
Amy walked with him, relaxed and happy. The weather was nice, the scenery was beautiful, and everything was peaceful and quiet. It was already turning out to be a good trip.
It didn't take as long as he'd first thought to get to his little hideout, which wasn't a proper building, but it would keep them protected from the elements. He ushered her inside, grinning briefly. Yes, this all looked just the same.
Amy looked around the little lean-to in interest, already itching to take a proper look around. She was curious, and she wanted to poke through everything to see what there was.
Loki looked over at her and snorted. "You can look," he said. "You won't harm anything." He left her to her exploring, going to make sure he had enough food for them. Because that was kind of important.
Amy turned a bit pink at being caught, but grinned and went to go explore a bit. It was interesting to see what Loki had accumulated in the little shelter.
Loki gave her all the time she wanted. He did paused when he heard what sounded like a hunting horn, but it was still a long ways off, so he shook himself and went on gathering food.
Amy paused as well, when she heard the horn, and looked in the direction from whence it came.
"That was an interesting sound," she commented. |
"Hunting horn," Loki replied easily. "Still a long ways off. They have never found this place, nor will they. It's nothing to be concerned about."
"How far are we from the city?" Amy asked. "It must not be too far, if there are hunting parties?" She wasn't worried, though; she trusted that Loki would keep them safe and unseen.
"The hunting parties roam," Loki said. "And we are far enough that people do not come out here often, if ever."
Amy nodded in understanding and went back to exploring a bit. After a little while, she made her way back over to him.
"So, what's the plan?" she asked. |
"Relax. Explore, if you wish to." Loki shrugged. "I thought you might enjoy some time away, and I know I have needed it."
Amy smiled.
"So just a vacation to relax?" she asked. "Sounds like a good plan to me." She went over to him and, after a slight hesitation, quickly kissed his cheek. Then she went back to exploring, her face a bit pink. |
Loki just smiled a bit at that and let her go back to exploring. Instead, he mad sure they'd be well provided for while they were staying.
