After a while, Amy got tired of exploring for the moment and made her way back to Loki.

"Is everything all set?" she asked.

"I believe so." Loki smirked and caught her around the waist, pulling her in closer. "And if we find we need anything, I can acquire it for us."

Amy blushed slightly when he pulled her closer, but didn't try to escape.

"Good," she said. "Then we can settle in."

Loki nodded and stayed there for several moments before he turned and leaned down to kiss her properly.

Amy returned the kiss a little awkwardly, at first, but she quickly relaxed and warmed to it.

"You're good at this," she murmured to him.

Loki chuckled quietly. "I have not had as much practice as, say, my brother," he said. "I was hoping not to startle you too much."

"I don't think I'm quite as easy to startle anymore," Amy said, grinning a bit. Cautiously, she leaned up and gave him a small, uncertain kiss.

Loki grinned briefly and returned the kiss, keeping her close. This was definitely progress.

Amy grinned back and settled closer to him. She was liking how the vacation was going so far.

Loki settled in there for a little while, content to just relax for the moment.

Amy settled in with him, cuddling closer. She was enjoying the contact, now that she could without worrying about her Extremis.

For the first day, Loki didn't do anything more than that. But then he started doting on her a bit more; making sure he had her favorite kind of tea, giving her a massage, entertaining her with little illusions and tricks. All while staying close.

Amy was enjoying the attention being lavished on her, and she liked that he was staying close. She could tell he was showing off a bit in his entertaining, but she didn't mind in the slightest.

Loki was indeed showing off, but so far he was being fairly subtle. He could get to the big grandiose showing off later. Besides, he knew she preferred personal touches.

Amy let herself enjoy the subtle showing off, and was actually surprised at just how comfortable she was getting with sharing personal space with him. A little feeling in the back of her mind niggled at her that she might possibly be falling in love with him, and she didn't immediately reject it.

Since Loki already knew his own mind about his feelings about her, he didn't have to go through any kind of internal debate. Instead, he focused on getting her to the point where she felt the same way about him.

Now that she finally had her head on right, so to speak, Amy was able to really examine what she was feeling for Loki without anything else getting in the way. It didn't take her long to figure things out and come to a decision. So, as they were settling in in front of the fire later on in the evening, Amy leaned over and gave Loki a decisive kiss.

Loki blinked at that but certainly wasn't going to refuse her, not when that was what he'd been hoping for.

"Not that I'm not quite pleased, but that was unexpected," he commented mildly.

"I've had some space to think," Amy replied, settling in close to him. "Had the chance to examine what I really want."

Loki smiled. "Good," he said, settling an arm around her. "I am pleased you came to such a conclusion."

"So am I," Amy said, cuddling a bit closer. She laid her head on his shoulder.

Loki settled in there with her for a while, content to just sit with her. Things were definitely going well.

They stayed in the little cabin for a few more days, and then Amy decided it was probably best to go back. They'd been away long enough, and people were likely to get worried soon.

By the time they got back, though, everything had changed. SHIELD had fallen, the team had plenty to do to keep them busy, and the government was on everyone because SHIELD had really been Hydra and so they were suspicious of everything and everyone who had dealt with them.

Meaning Lea was hiding.

Amy was shocked when she saw what had happened while they were gone.

"It's like the world ended," she murmured as she caught a newsfeed. "We need to find Tony, I need to know if my sister is okay."
