The rest of the night was quiet, although once again Lea had trouble settling in for the night. She was nervous about going to talk to Tony, and she was nervous about staying in the city longer than she had to without help.

Amy could sense her sister's distress, and went to snuggle in with her. They both slept better when they were nervous if they were together.

Lea did sleep pretty well, although she got up when her alarm went off. Time to go talk to Stark. She got dressed quickly, brushing her hair back in a quick ponytail and making a cup of coffee to go.

Amy got up as well, although she focused more on casing the apartment to determine what they would be able to leave behind if they had to run.

"I'll let you know as soon as Stark and I come to some agreement," Leandra said, shouldering her purse.

"Alright," Amy said. "I'll keep my phone close." She hugged her sister. "Good luck."

Woofie267 05-03-2013 07:44 AM

"Thanks." Lea returned the hug before she headed off to SI, and then straight up to the lab. She still looked nervous as she headed over to the computers where Tony had been last time.

Mageling 05-03-2013 07:48 AM

Tony was still there, though this time he was tinkering with some sort of gadget.

"Was starting to wonder," he said without looking up, "if you were going to show."

Woofie267 05-03-2013 07:50 AM

"I thought about not showing up," Lea admitted quietly, standing back a little ways with her arms crossed protectively over her stomach. "Amy talked me out of it."

Mageling 05-03-2013 07:54 AM

"Good thing, too," Tony replied. "I really don't feel like loosing my best code-monkey today." He glanced up at her. "So? Speak. What's so classified that even Agent Agent isn't cleared for it?"

Woofie267 05-03-2013 07:57 AM

Lea sighed. "I'm second-generation Extremis," she said quietly. "Amy and I are. Our parents both got the injections, and then Amy did. I never did. We didn't think I needed it." She shrugged, shifting uncomfortably. "Extremis has been coming after us ever since Amy got the injection."

Mageling 05-03-2013 07:59 AM

"Why her and not you?" Tony asked casually. He still tinkered, but most of his attention was now on Lea.

Woofie267 05-03-2013 08:11 AM

"She's got mental stuff going on. I'm just good with machines." Lea was quiet for a moment. "She can control people, mentally. To a degree anyway. Strong-willed people she can't, but the previous generations of Extremis experiments she can. This new generation she can't, though, otherwise this wouldn't have been an issue. To them, compared to her, I'm just a code monkey."

Mageling 05-03-2013 06:10 PM

"Sounds like she's got an X-Gene," Tony mused. "Not my department, sorry. And you're my code-monkey now, haven't I been saying that? I swear, nobody listens to me when I say things, which, granted, sometimes isn't a bad thing, but only sometimes."

Woofie267 05-03-2013 06:15 PM

Leandra gave him a Look. "Mr. Stark, I don't belong to anyone," she said. "I've told you what you want to know, are you going to help us or should I go pack?"

Mageling 05-03-2013 06:30 PM

That got the rest of his attention and he looked at her.

"Pack? Packing, where are you going? No, this is too interesting to let go, there's so much more that's just begging to be looked into. And of course you and your sister will be protected and everything."

Woofie267 05-03-2013 06:32 PM

Lea snorted at that. "What do you think needs looking into?" she asked, curious to see what else he wanted to know. Especially since he'd said X-genes weren't his area of interest.

Mageling 05-03-2013 06:35 PM

"Obviously, you know that I know a little about Extremis," Tony said. "Dr. Hansen was a colleague of mine, once upon a time, and it was a brilliant little theory." He looked at her. "Not perfect, obviously, but I bet with a bit of tinkering I could get it right."

Woofie267 05-03-2013 06:39 PM

Lea tensed at that. "It's not something to be tinkered with," she said quietly. "I think Extremis has already ruined enough people. It's not something to be played around with. That's how you get things like me and Sean."

Mageling 05-03-2013 06:42 PM

"Not even if it could fix you and your sister?" Tony pointed out. "Nix the side-effects, perfect the improvements, even cancel it out all together?"

Woofie267 05-03-2013 08:44 PM

Lea had to pause at that. Okay, yeah, that sounded good. Probably too good. So she shrugged.

"I'll admit it's very tempting, but who knows if it'll even work? What if things just get worse, instead?"

Mageling 05-04-2013 02:34 AM

"I'm going to ignore that frankly insulting rhetorical question," Tony said, "and remind you that I'm Tony Stark. I could probably replicate the formula drunk with a week of no sleep."

Woofie267 05-04-2013 02:44 AM

Lea gave him a slightly scathing look. "Well, pardon me if I don't believe you right off the bat, but I've known you, what, a week? It'll take a little more than your word. Besides, I can only speak for myself, not for Amy."

Mageling 05-04-2013 03:12 AM

Tony was unfazed by the scathing look.

"Well, then go get her to cooperate," he said.

Woofie267 05-04-2013 03:16 AM

"How about we test on me first," Lea said after a moment. "We can test on me, and see how that goes. Then if things work I'll talk to Amy. Fair enough?"
