"Any solution we find for you may not work for her," Bruce warned.
"It probably won't, her abilities are very different from mine. But at least by then I'll know you can make solutions. I just don't want to get her hopes up if you can't figure out anything better for her." Lea shrugged. It made sense to her.
Bruce nodded.
"Alright," he said. "I'll do what I can to figure out what's going on with your biology. Tony will have to figure out Extremis itself, though, he's much more familiar with it." |
"That's fine." Lea held her arm out so Bruce could take blood, keeping herself relaxed a little forcibly. She didn't like having blood drawn, let alone trusting it to someone else.
Bruce carefully took a sample, setting the vial aside for the moment.
"Thanks," he said. "There's not going to be much more for you to do until I've got this analyzed, so..." He trailed off. |
Lea nodded. "Don't worry, I won't bother you while you're working," she said, rolling her sleeve back down. "I'll find something else to do."
Bruce nodded. He wasn't going to chase her out, after all. He didn't mind her being there.
Lea wandered off to go find other things to do, determined not to annoy Bruce.
Although if she annoyed Tony, that was fine. |
Tony was tweaking one of his suits. He would swoop in with his Extremis research once Bruce had managed to isolate the virus in Lea's DNA. But until then, he had to amuse himself in other ways.
Lea settled in to tinker for the rest of the day, just having fun with all the stuff in the lab. She really did love his lab, it had everything she could ever want.
Amy got back a while later, and just shuffled into their room, exhausted. She didn't even bother taking off her shoes or headband, just flopping over onto her bed.
Lea headed up a little while later and blinked when she saw Amy.
"What happened?" she asked, walking over to the bed. "Long day?" |
"Yeah," Amy murmured. She rolled over with a soft groan. "Busy. Lots of people."
Lea went over to cuddle her a bit. "Well, now you get to relax," she said quietly. "How did the headband hold up? You feeling okay other than exhausted?"
"It was working just as hard as I was," Amy said, cuddling with her sister. "Some was slipping through, but not a lot."
"Good." Lea settled in with her there for a bit. "Well you can relax and I can make dinner in a bit."
Amy murmured something unintelligible and snuggled deeper into the bed. She was exhausted.
Lea settled in there with her, hoping Amy would get a quick nap before dinner. It would do her good.
Amy sighed softly and relaxed when Lea settled in with her. She fell asleep quickly.
Lea grumbled when her phone buzzed at her, and she checked her messages, seeing one from Tony saying something about dinner. She was quick to reply.
We're eating dinner down here, Amy's asleep and I don't want to wake her up. |
Tony raised an eyebrow.
Asleep? Fine, whatever, you do that. Bruce and Clint are cooking. He didn't, however, tell her to find her own dinner. He wasn't that much of an ass. |
Bruce cooks too? I'm liking him more and more. Lea grinned when she sent off that text. Because she'd admit it was partially to provoke Tony.
Tony snorted. I'd be worried if he couldn't. And hey, if you don't want to play around in my labs anymore... He couldn't help but smirk just slightly.
I never said that. Your labs still have the best stuff to play around with. Including things I've never seen before. Which Lea didn't feel bad admitting.
Uh huh. Well, Bruce is cooking something that smells like what I'd imagine India to taste like, so get some quick before Point Break and Capsicle get there.
