"No, thank you, I think I'll just return to my room for now," Loki said as he stood again. "You know where to find me if you wish for company."
Amy nodded and let him go. Then she went to find her sister.
"Lea?" |
Lea had been hiding in the kitchen while the others made plans for Yule. She looked over at Amy and grinned.
"Hey. What's up?" |
"Question for you," Amy said. "What would you say if I told Loki invited us to go with them for the holiday?"
"Well, I know the Avengers were invited by Thor a little bit ago," Lea said with a shrug. "I'm kinda surprised Loki would invite me, though."
"He said you were welcome to come," Amy replied. "So what say you?"
Lea turned to look at Amy. "Honestly, I don't care either way," she said. "It would be nice to get somewhere my programming won't eat at me, but I don't mind staying here if it's going to be quiet."
"Up to you," Amy said. "I mean... we were offered a trip to Asgard. I really don't think that happens often." She looked at her sister. "And I kind of want to go."
"So go," Lea said with a shrug. "You don't have to stay here. I mean, you should definitely go, since Loki invited you."
"You're invited too," Amy pointed out. She wasn't going to mention she had nudged a little for that invite.
"Yeah, I know, you mentioned that," Lea said. "I don't have strong feelings either way at this point in time. But you should definitely go."
"I don't want you to be alone, though," Amy said. "Everyone else is going, I don't want you to be by yourself."
"I'll think about it," Lea said. "Besides, I won't be by myself. Someone has to watch the kittens. And who knows if all the Avengers will go, maybe one of them will stay and keep me company."
"Alright," Amy said reluctantly. "Let me know, alright?"
"I will." Lea smiled a bit. "Here, have a cookie." She pointed to the batch on the counter cooling.
Amy smiled a bit and grabbed a handful of cookies, wrapping a few in a napkin. She'd noticed Loki had a bit of a sweet tooth.
"Thanks," she said. |
"No problem." Lea grinned. "If you want you can go tell the others that there are cookies."
Amy considered that for a moment, and then cautiously reached out with her ability. She carefully left a delicate little suggestion for all of the Avengers in reach.
Head to the kitchen. Maybe Lea made cookies. Go take a look and see. |
It didn't take long for people to start showing up, Clint first. Natasha wasn't far behind, although she gave Amy a rather displeased look while Clint scarfed down a cookie.
Amy hunched down a bit. Natasha had been the only one she had been uncertain about; it was very hard to plant a suggestion in Natasha's mind to begin with, and the assassin always seemed to notice.
Steve came in next, although he did look a little baffled when he did, in fact, see cookies on the counter. |
Thor bounded in after him, just pleased to see cookies, and he thanked Lea heartily before eating four at once.
Tony was the last one to wander in, although he still had a screwdriver in one hand and a little gadget in the other and was tinkering as he walked. He looked up just before he would have run into the counter, and grinned.
"Awesome," he said, taking a cookie. Amy took that opportunity to slip out of the kitchen and go find Loki. |
Lea snorted at him but didn't say anything, instead watching everyone partake of the cookies.
Loki was sitting in his room meditating, gathering and focusing his magic. He was getting a little more of it back, bit by bit, but he didn't think anyone else needed to know that just yet. |
Amy hesitated in front of the closed door for a moment before knocking softly. Then she waited quietly for an answer.
Loki waved a lazy hand at the door so it opened and looked over at Amy. He quirked an eyebrow at her.
