"Don't even try that with me, sweets," Lea said with a grin. "I was born two minutes before you, I know best."
"I'm serious," Amy said, pouting a little. "And you don't get to pull that on me, two minutes only counts on our birthday."
Lea just grinned. "I'll see what I can find out for you," she promised. "I won't even ask invasive personal questions yet."
Amy nodded.
"Alright," she said. She didn't protest anymore. |
Lea stretched out a bit and relaxed as she looked down at the snowy ground below them. "Hey, if things do work out between you two, just don't forget about me, yeah?"
"Why would I forget about you?" Amy asked, moving a bit closer to her sister. "I couldn't possibly."
"I'm just saying, you already spend a lot of time with the guy. I get it, I do, I'm glad that you two are working on stuff in case the research falls through." Lea smiled a bit.
"But..." Amy trailed off. "I don't want you to be alone. I don't want to leave you out."
"You don't have to worry about that, really. It's not like we don't see each other. I just spend more time in the labs now is all." Lea shrugged. "Don't worry about it, I shouldn't have mentioned anything. Hey, I bet if we find Thor, he's probably getting tipsy by now."
"You're my sister, I don't want you to feel like you don't matter," Amy said. She pulled Lea into a hug.
Lea blinked but returned the hug, sighing. "Of course I know I matter," she said quietly. "Really. I know that. It's okay, Amy."
"Just please tell me if you're feeling left out," Amy said. "Let me know so I can help."
"I will," Lea promised. "Don't worry, I will." She managed a little smile. "So, how about we go see if Thor is drunk? That or go find somewhere quieter inside to hang out."
"I don't want to be around Thor when he's drunk," Amy said. "That's just not a mind I want to be hit with. So let's see if we can find somewhere quiet inside." She grinned. "I might remember the way to the library."
Lea nodded and was about to follow her when Loki stepped outside, blinking a bit when he found both of them taking refuge out there.
Amy blinked and let her Extremis go back to completely passive, the glow fading from her skin.
"We were going to find somewhere quiet to take refuge," she said. |
"Ah. A wise choice, I think." Loki smiled faintly. "Lead the way."
Lea hesitated for a few moments before she shook her head. "I think I'm just going to turn in early and get out of this damn dress," she said with a quick smile. |
"You sure?" Amy asked. "Really, we can go find the library and sit for a while..."
"No, really, I'm sure," Lea said with a brief grin. "You two go chat or find somewhere quiet. I'm going to go see if I can get some sleep."
Amy sighed, but nodded. She couldn't make Lea stay, after all. She gave her sister a hug.
"Alright, then," she said. "Sleep well." |
"Thanks. You too." Lea smiled a bit and headed inside to go find Tony.
Loki watched her go before he looked at Amy, raising an eyebrow quietly. |
Amy looked a bit troubled.
"I don't know how to fix it," she said helplessly after a moment. "I think she feels left out, and she won't let me fix it." |
"It would be easier if Stark would simply admit he likes her and stop keeping her at arms' length," Loki said dryly.
"Stark never does things the easy way," Amy muttered. She sighed. "I don't want my sister unhappy."
Loki shrugged. "I don't know how to help you," he said. "You cannot make her be happy, and as she has chosen to bestow her affections upon Stark, she will likely be unhappy until they have come to an agreement."
