Lea laughed quietly and grabbed his hand, trying to tug him down to sit with her. Because now she just wanted to curl up with him.
She suspected it would take a bit longer for the events of the past few days to set in really. |
Tony rolled his eyes, but sat down next to her and let her curl up.
"I do have to get some work done at some point," he said to her. |
"Tomorrow. Or tonight. Or something." Lea kept one hand curled in his shirt, not quite on his lap but definitely close.
|
Tony have a dramatic sigh, but didn't actually protest. He just pulled her into his lap.
|
Lea settled in there comfortably, grinning when Dummy brought over smoothies for them. She took hers with a little grin. "Thanks."
|
Tony took his skeptically and looked at it, and didn't relax until he'd taken a cautious sip. Only when he was sure it was a normal smoothie did he relax.
"Good boy, Dummy." |
Dummy whirred happily and rolled away again. Lea chuckled quietly and sipped on her own smoothie.
|
Tony rolled his eyes at the bot, but settled in a little more.
"So you're okay now?" he asked Lea quietly. |
"I'm... yeah. For the moment." Lea shrugged a bit. "No guarantees I'll stay that way after the past few days."
|
Tony snorted.
"If you stayed okay after that, something is wrong," he said, pulling her a bit closer. |
Lea snorted and settled in there happily enough, relaxing a bit when she heard and felt the Arc whirring gently near her hand.
|
Tony was very aware of where her hand was, but didn't have her move it. He was a bit reluctant to trust anyone near his Arc, but he was willing to try with Lea.
|
Lea, in return, didn't do anything but settle in there, quite content to stay for a little while now that she didn't feel like crawling out of her skin. She did surprise herself when she yawned, though.
|
Tony was even more surprised when he found himself getting tired. He'd never actually let himself wind down before. Pulling her on top of him, he swung his legs up into the couch an stretched out, letting her settle in on top.
|
Lea ended up napping there, but only for a few hours. It wasn't long before she was jerking herself awake again, her breathing fast as she pushed herself to her feet almost before she was really awake.
|
Tony didn't try to hold her when she sat up. He knew what those kind of nightmare were like.
"It's okay," he said. "Just a nightmare. I know they suck, but you're okay." |
Lea didn't reply for several moments, shaking a little bit.
"I need to go outside," she said, her voice quiet. |
Tony studied her for a moment, and then let her up.
"Yeah, sure," he said. "Take the car ramp, it's the quickest way out." |
Lea didn't say anything, just heading down and outside. And then she started walking, wanting to be near something green and quiet. Not that quiet was hard to find at this time of night.
|
Tony gave her some alone time for the first few minutes, and then followed her to make sure she was okay. He didn't try to interrupt her, though.
|
Lea didn't stop until she got to a park, and then she managed to scramble up into a tree, curling up there and shivering a bit. She knew Tony was there, she just didn't say anything to him yet.
|
Tony just leaned against the tree and waited for her. He was itching to pull out his phone while he waited, but he didn't, just giving her time to settle again.
|
Lea slowly settled down again and after half an hour or so she slid back down, shivering a bit.
"I feel better now. I think." |
Tony put an arm around her shoulders.
"Nightmares are rough," he said. "I get 'em all the time." |
"Yeah." Lea settled in against him, winding her arms around him loosely. "I'm not used to them. Not like that, anyway."
