That is really cool Bearzy.

I'm a fan of having my own copy somehow in someway that I can access without the internet, but in the end I use the internet a lot.

The Wandering Poet 05-04-2013 04:13 AM

I wait until my parents rent it and watch it with them [ninja]

Nothing beats an old VCR movie though

maidenroseheart 05-04-2013 04:22 AM

Very nice. I miss old VCR movies. They were good days. I spent Halloween in the basement armed with several bags of candy and a family movie. Mom preferred that to having us actually participate in the holiday. We didn't mind :)

The Wandering Poet 05-04-2013 04:25 AM

Good old days. Milo and Otis on a VCR was my favorite passtime as a kid besides computer

Haha I wouldn't mind either XD I just had to lock the doors and hide all day. (lights out nobody home hiding style)

maidenroseheart 05-04-2013 04:40 AM

Milo and Otis!! I loved that one!!

The Wandering Poet 05-04-2013 04:51 AM

I have it on dvd now >w<

maidenroseheart 05-04-2013 04:52 AM

That is pretty sweet. Did you watch McGee and Me?

The Wandering Poet 05-04-2013 05:05 AM

Sounds familiar... honestly I don't remember XD

maidenroseheart 05-04-2013 05:07 AM

no worries, there are a lot of stuff on VCR that isn't on DVD... that I know of

The Wandering Poet 05-04-2013 05:11 AM

So true... so many good old movies vanished :(
I miss my godzilla movies... that was my comedy

maidenroseheart 05-04-2013 05:12 AM

I miss the old version of Pocahontas... the remake version has ruined the mood in several places.

The Wandering Poet 05-04-2013 05:29 AM

How did they manage that? (Not that I'm surprised) I didn't actually watch Pocahontas though

maidenroseheart 05-04-2013 05:30 AM

They remastered it and added songs and such.

The Wandering Poet 05-04-2013 05:33 AM

EWW Never change the music!!! D:
Pretty up the imagery and leave the rest alone XD

maidenroseheart 05-04-2013 05:36 AM

So completely true. So in that case, I love VCR. But for a lot of the newer stuff that comes on DVD originally, I prefer DVD. I saw some stuff on the internet has scenes cut.

The Wandering Poet 05-04-2013 05:52 AM

Yeah so true. Like with TV they chop off tons of a movie and it's like... where is the best scene?

maidenroseheart 05-04-2013 05:54 AM

So true! I don't like watching stuff on the tv for that reason... and because I hate commercials.

The Wandering Poet 05-04-2013 05:56 AM

I love a good commercial... there's just not enough of em

maidenroseheart 05-04-2013 06:00 AM

I like them during Christmas and during the Superbowl... but... that is about it...

When I was little I liked the Pantene commercials and the Coca Cola commercials.

The Wandering Poet 05-04-2013 06:22 AM

ooh the polar bear commercials... I loved those!

Yet when I graduated, there was blockbuster, netflix, and bluerays in high demand. My job was conveniently overseas in South Korea. Suddenly blockbuster, netflix, TV, and even the public library are gone. No longer available to me. My world crumbled.

I challenge you to tell me, what is the best way to watch movies overall. Forget that I am overseas, since closing my netflix account I have learned ways around the "I'm sorry, this is only available in the USA..." message. How do you live your life? Do you even watch movies?

I think it depends on what I'm watching. I'll usually watch movies on DVD, unless it's something I really, really want to see right (censored) NOW, then I'll either get it from my brother(who downloads), or download it myself if I must.

(edit: sometimes I'll find a movie in the free section of my cable provider's "on demand" service, or rarely, something on Youtube(lots of MST3k on there, lol)

Unless it's a toku movie. Then I'll grab an SD version when it becomes available(my poor old PC can't quite do HD videos...).

I mainly watch movies through 1channel u-u or sometimes with my parents through netflix/ downloads. I only have 4 or 5 movie DVDs, and I do feel bad, but it's just much more convenient for me to watch online.

maidenroseheart 05-05-2013 12:13 PM

Onsen - DVD is a fun way to go. I think I prefer that way a lot of the time for sure. Having backup plans in place never hurts either.

Nik - Don't feel bad. If I would stop being lazy, I would totally go get netflix again. It was a good service to have.

One of these days, I need to get a dedicated DVD player, and give my PS2 a break(since I don't feel like modding my Wii).

maidenroseheart 05-05-2013 10:57 PM

Wow, if you have a PS2, I can't imagine going back to a DVD player.
