Oh man, I think epic lifespan would drive me absolutely mad. [lol] I had a blog for one of my legacy families some years ago. It was fun, but I wound up losing my game data and with it all motivation to continue posting on it.
|
I am playing on epic life span... and keep feeding my sims ambrosia. XD
Amanene, it is called Machinima. There are this strand of people make stories with Sims, and voice over it. They call it Machinima and the person that do it call Machinimist... I think. XD But I don't really like their stories, although I am impressed on how they do all those things. Like being screenwriter, editor, director, producer as one. XD |
She was doing it in the really early days of Sims 3, so they might not have coined that name yet!
I think I'd lose my patience on Epic lifespan if I wanted my sims to age, too. XD Ah, gardening~ I love making sims who garden. Ever since I discovered buydebug (best catalog ever [cry] ), I've had my sims raising plants from all over the world, common and rare alike. |
I am not sure when the term comes, but... I thought Sims 2 there would be similar doings? Regarding Machinima~
I love gardening too... but I am too lazy to take care of it. XD Which is why I have a Perfect community garden. XD Just now, I use buydebug to place ALL beetles and butterflies spawner to let my Sims mex that Collection challenge. XD |
I don't have Sims 2, so I know next to nothing about it~
I have two cutesy sims who like to garden and cook. Their house is the pinkest one I've ever made. I used giant letters in it~ It's awesome 'cause you can get all those super rare plants with just a few clicks. |
hmm... mine so far had been pretty functional, I don't have too MANy clutter in my Sims house.
Pink. XD lol. You heard of Berry Sims Challenge? |
I'm a master at cluttering houses! Plus, they always come out blocky because I'm bad at Sims 3 building… [cry]
Do you ever work so hard on a house that it takes several hours and you don't even feel like playing anymore when you're done? Nope. What is it? |
Nope, I build each house with a purpose, I like to see my sims in it. XD
Berry Sims Challenge, simply put, populate the town with brightly coloured Sims. XD You can google it and see their generations/heirs of Berry colour sims. So the whole town is run around with colourful people. |
Ooh, sounds interesting. If Create-a-World worked for me, that would inspire me to make a world of colorful trees and ground and put all colors of sims in it. :D Those houses would look AWESOME! Colors everywhere!
|
Lol. XD I don't like too rainbowy town... XD
have Amanene been looking at the Store worlds? |
I've definitely spent so much time building and designing a house that I didn't want to play afterwards. That happens sometimes when I spend too much time building a new family in the CAS.
Speaking of Sims 2, I wish there was a way to bring forward Strangetown. I'm not usually a fan of deserts, but I loved the families that came with that town - the three scientist brothers who have alien babies, the alien family down the street, the military dad with rebellious kids. Ahh, I had a lot of good times with those families. I wonder if anyone had made a Sims 3 version, cause I would download the heck out of that. |
Again, I don't even look at the Store because of a complicated issue with my EA/Maxis account years ago.
I spend a whole day creating a family and getting their house ready! |
Amanene, I spend looooonger than that. Sometimes it took me a week! for a grand mansion! O__O
Chexalala can try google for it and see if you are in luck. |
I could possibly spend months on a big Sims 1 house. :3 At that point, I usually have sims living in it; I'm just making it pretty.
There aren't nearly as many downloads for Sims 3 that I want as for Sims 1, so my choices feel more limited. Sure, you can put any pattern on any item, but I'm not used to thinking that way. It's probably why there are fewer downloads for Sims 3. Good thing, too, because they slow down the game terribly, as you know. In short, transitioning to a newer Sims game is a long, difficult process. D: |
I am not sure how many downloads SIms 1 have... but I sure have a lot of downloads for Sims 3. O__O
Or do you mean the downloads from official EA? Store? Though you mention you avoid store. |
Nope, I wasn't counting any official downloads. But there are almost no official Sims 1 downloads. I've said before how much people have played with the workings of Sims 1. There are plenty of hacked item sets that let you make buffets, cafés, stores, apartments, schools, hospitals, hotels, and probably other things I've forgotten or just haven't seen. All on home lots!
At the height of Sims 1, there must have been thousands of downloading sites with at least a million downloads in all. That number is sadly going down fast, but there is a group that works to keep the downloads of closed sites available. ^^ They do it with 2 and 3 as well, but those communities don't have that problem as badly. I say Sims 3 has fewer downloads because you don't have to remake something as a separate file if you want it in another color. You don't have to make a red version and a blue version. Just get it in red, and in-game you can make it polka dotted if you want! |
I find it easier if I just want simple variation of the pattern and colours, it will feel completely new~ <3 Without downloading yet another file. I feel like my inventory/catalogue would be very clutter.
Look at how lag Sims 3 is! You still want more downloads for it? XD |
I'm used to having a lot of downloaded stuff. o3o My Sims 1 houses almost never have anything that came with the game. Really, all I want now is my favorite Sims 1 things that were created by hacks, and of course I'll always need mods. At-home businesses are amazing. Someone has to do it for Sims 3 someday!
|
Just saw the Sims 4 announcement... x_x Sims 4... I'm not even finished with Sims 3...
|
I read about the hints when they announced Sims 3 Starter Pack...
Amanene, I think you mention it before... but what at home business you are talking about? I know some mods that simulate selling as shops. |
*knew about Sims 4 when Sims 3 came out and didn't want to believe it* >3
WHAAAT? Where, where? Links! [eager] I can set up stores, cafés, buffets, and a lot of other things on home lots, and that can be the family's way of making money. I have dozens of serving trays with unique dishes that sims take at random. I can even decide when they're allowed to take from them (which makes opening and closing times). I'm always looking for more types of stores. I also make a few things with purely decorative items. I have vineyards and bakeries that actually don't do anything. Wish they did! I have a photographer whose photography is all imagination. Only part of my photography/darkroom goodies do anything. Oh my gosh, I want to play Sims 1 so badly now. *looks for disc* |
I don't think the mod I have can act as a waiter or waitress though...
There is no 'sales' interaction I believe... let me dig it out... ---------- Post added 05-06-2013 at 07:07 PM ---------- Around the Sims 3 | Help | Ani's Shop From Inventory Mod Around the Sims 3 | Help | Custom Restaurants in the Sims 3 I like Around the Sims. Good mod. |
Same as in my Sims 1 eating places. Notice I didn't call them restaurants or diners. [lol] Your own sims can't be recognized as employees. Visitors seat themselves after they get food, and buyers at stores automatically have the item put into their inventory and the money is paid. Some objects are made so that they summon a customized NPC to be an employee. I did download something that could summon an NPC to clean, but I couldn't get them to show up.
|
Oh, if so, it sounds similar to the mod I posted. the Ani's shop.
Then if you have some expansions, there are food register and such to sell food too. |
GASP. They're here already. And so my game shall get slower this summer~ XDX
