/highfives Elmira/ Amen to that, sister. Sunscreen and clothing that covers, yet cools. It is what you get, and hope you don't roast anyways.

steelmagghia 05-25-2014 04:25 PM

Llonka, I am not a fan of camping either. My grandmother once got me a pin that said "my idea of roughing it is a hotel with no room service". [rofl]
I used to tan like a champ, but I think the depression and years of staying inside like the nerd I am have broken my melanocytes.

Lexadis 05-25-2014 04:38 PM

[XD] I want to go rock climbing!

CloudDreamer 05-25-2014 05:40 PM

I love camping myself (I've grown up outside - and staying in an RV or a cabin isn't camping - not to me... Give me a tent any day!), but I have to say, good for you for sticking up for yourself, llonka! [hug]

I burn HORRIBLY and then peal and I'm back to being my usual pale self. :/ I don't tan.

llonka 05-26-2014 06:52 PM

LOL! I could use that pin Steel. xD I love my A/C... though it wasn't terribly hot but still i'm sure it was buggy and I just don't like being outside very long. [sweat]

I used sunscreen on Thursday when we went fishing, but the places i missed got burned. Figures.. [stare]

Elmira Swift 05-26-2014 10:47 PM

Did you have some fun fishing in spite of the sunburn, llonka?

llonka 05-27-2014 02:28 PM

Yeah it was fun until I got hot. Thats when I know it's time to go, but hubby always wants to stay and stay and stay...

Elmira Swift 05-27-2014 03:26 PM

It is so humid where we live and the bugs are like predatory dinosaurs. Huge and pretty evil. If I still lived in a high desert area, I'd consider roughing it. But not while surrounded by poison oak/ivy and bugs.

Yeah, it's difficult to avoid heat if the water is reflecting light and heat back at you. Were you guys able to catch any decent fish?

steelmagghia 05-27-2014 04:42 PM

*shares pin with llonka*
I used to really like fishing as a kid. But now I don't eat fish so I feel bad hurting something I'm not going to eat.

llonka 05-27-2014 05:38 PM

At our local fishing hole the fish are pretty small. I caught two channel catfish and two bullhead catfish. Hubby caught a couple catfish also, but also got a blue gill/sunfish that he brought home and put in a fish tank. :/ We have dry heat and wind here. In the shade is bearable, but out of the shade i'm cooked. I can't stand humidiy, and when it gets humid here I about die.

Steel- Ahh I can see that. It is kind of cruel.

steelmagghia 05-27-2014 05:55 PM

Indeed. No reason to shove sharp metal bits in a fleshy mouth unless you're actually going to kill and eat the dang thing.

Nephila 05-27-2014 07:06 PM

yeah I can't stand sport hunting. It's so needless. You kill it you eat it.

steelmagghia 05-27-2014 07:41 PM

So very true.

llonka 05-27-2014 09:46 PM

I like your color combo Steel! Very nice!

steelmagghia 05-27-2014 11:03 PM

Thanks llonka! I wanted to feel summery. :)

llonka 05-28-2014 03:01 PM

Oooh now you changed! I like that one too.

So hubby started talking about father's day last night, that it is coming up. I'm sure he will want to go out to eat, but you know what isn't fair? He getsto stay home all day and go out for supper but on mother'sday I always to go to some stupid crap his mom is doing. It's not fair!

CloudDreamer 05-28-2014 03:11 PM

Tell him that it isn't fair and that next mother's day you should be allowed to stay home and then go out to dinner as you deserve it!! [yes]

llonka 05-28-2014 08:45 PM

I did say something along those lines, but he didn't really say anything back. Story of my life.

Boys and I went to the library today and I checked out Fifty Shades of Grey. LOL. I'm on chapter three already and it's not naughty yet...

steelmagghia 05-28-2014 09:03 PM

Awww, thanks llonka!

That sucks. Dad always tries to push mom into going to the thing the church puts on on Mother's Day. But they do it at like 8am. No mother wants to do things at 8am on Mother's Day.

CloudDreamer 05-29-2014 12:43 AM

I would say next Mother's Day, refuse to do anything, and make him do all the work and if he gets on your case, say that you deserve the break so you are taking it, so he can't say anything about it. [yes]

llonka 05-29-2014 02:16 AM

LOL I feel the same way. It seems like on Mother's day, we have all kinds of things to do, but on Father's day they don't do a damn thing! [stare]

That sounds like a great plan Cloud!

Ugh I dug in my ear and now it's feeling strange again. Why can't I leave it alone?!?!

steelmagghia 05-29-2014 02:25 AM

Haha, it's hard to break habits, llonka. I had to learn to stop rubbing my eyes when I got my surgery done. It was SO HARD.

llonka 05-29-2014 02:28 AM

Ugh it is hard. I cause myself so much trouble by digging in my ears. :/

steelmagghia 05-29-2014 02:30 AM

Just try to be aware of it. And maybe have your kiddos help. Every time they see mommy touch her ears, they have to say something.

llonka 05-29-2014 02:35 AM

Okay I could try that. It generally works with food, though Jacob just watches me eat whatever I told him to not let me eat.... :/
